The New Covanent in Christ makes it clear that the Old Covanent is vanishing away. I'm not suggesting that the Old Covanent is NOT the word of God, God forbid! The OT IS THE WORD OF GOD. But as a Christian, I realize that who the OT pointed to is CHRIST and is made COMPLETE in him. Why would you go back to the picture of Christ(OT) when you have Christ himself(NT)? Jesus kept the law as the spotless lamb and gave his life for us. Christ SAVES, not our keeping the law of God.

You must understand that our Righteosness comes from Christ not from keeping the law(Galatians 2:22). It comes FROM CHRIST, who covers us by HIS righteousness. It is not our righteousness but HIS that covers us that is the basis of our justification. The OT and NT were always together(the promise to Abraham), and the NT replaces the OT. The law tells us what sin is, thats all.

No jingle, you aren't hearing me. The law of Christ is the new nature that we live by in HIM. We aren't required to keep the OT ceremonial laws, not all of them are for today, but the moral ones are. We are to live in HOLINESS, because we are called to HOLINESS, how can we who DIED To sin live in it any longer? The Old Covanent is telling us the law of God and the standard of God. But Christ saves us and we are to follow him, the FULNESS of GOD, repenting from every sin in our life as we grow.

The law of God was never meant to save you. The law of God, as Paul puts it, was only meant to condemn sin and to show us what sin is. The law only condemns, and if you don't keep it perfectly, you are condemned. Very clear. But praise be to God our righteousness doesn't come from the law but from Christ! He came because no one keeps the law. We are born with a fallen nature. The 10 Commandments were given to Jews only. This plan of His was made before creation. Jesus was the lamb of God. The first sacrifice was in the garden when the Lord made Adam & Eve clothing from animal skin. The event of Abraham putting Isaac on the altar and God providing a sacrifice in his place is a symbol of the Father sending Jesus in the far future.

A good Judge might love the criminals who have to be sentenced for their crimes, but it makes no difference because if you do the crime you do the time. So it is for God.
