  • MY NAME IS BRYNN TOO!

  • Shes very lucky. I'm a senior in high school and i've been picked on about my ears my whole life. A girl wouldn't date me and her reason was my ears. I cant take it anymore i need this surgery but i know my parents will say no. Guess i have to wait until im 18. :/

  • when i was 4 my mom got me the same surgery but it totally changed the shape of my ears and now i hate my ears :( i am 24 and i have never shown my ears to anyone i hate them so much :(

  • @ukejuke100 Sometimes people overdo the shape and it kind of gives them what is known as "telephone ear." You can google that for pictures. Luckily Brynn's ears still have a normal projection and nobody would ever know she had the surgery! I think it's definitely an art.

  • @SRG2000 if that was my problem i would prolly be happy :( unfortunatly, I have two completely different looking ears, no crease in either ear, on side looks like a crease would have formed but instead it is fused down and pointed...i went to a plastic surgeon they said there was nothing they could do :( but i am soo happy for your daughter that everything is normal and perfect!

  • is there alot of pain involved? please reply!

  • @tillie898 I'm not going to say it's painless, but only the first couple of days are bad. After that, it's just occasional discomfort.

  • im 13 and my ears pop out , and im very slef concious about them :/ i think the surgery is free in england but i dont know whether to get them done or not :/ i have long hair which cover them nicely though :Sx

  • I got surgery like that when i was 5!

  • you are so fortunate to have gotten your surgery once young. I am 21 and wish I got it years ago because the surgery is free in Canada until 18 yrs of age! :(

  • Those ears are cute when you're a kid, but when she turns 13+ she would've hated them. Good choice on getting it done early... she looks great (before) and even better (after).

  • @Ninja & luvtwinkie, Glad you have thought about the surgery. She's always had such a great attitude about it and I'm glad we got it done before the kids were old enough to be really mean about it!

  • I'm glad you went ahead with this surgery, having big ears SUCK. People don't realize how lucky they are to have normal ears, where ever we go, we get made fun of, stared at, and ridiculed for being born different. Hopefully I can get mine done soon so I can live a normal life finally.

  • thanks for the video, Im actually saving up to pay for the surgery on my own b/c my mom won't pay for it lol Im 18 though but i want to get it done before college starts

  • i dont hav big ears just that they pop out I want to get my ears pinned back but i dont know how much the surgery is?

  • @MEEDDIE4 It depends. In some countries it's covered by the government apparently but here in the US it varies. Ours was about $3000-4000 as I recall. So just a little more than braces for the teeth (which Brynn will apparently not be needing).

  • Big ears run in families, blame the genes.

  • Hej Brynn!!

I would like to tell you alllll the way from the Netherlands how beautifull your ears are.

    Hugs and kisses...

  • I'm getting ear surgery not because my ears are big but because I was born with a birth defect and my right ear is deformed and I want to wear pony tails and pretty ear ring and stuff like normal girls. My mom said I had to wait till I was 12 to get the surgery because she needed time to save up money and now I'm finally 12 and getting the surgery! I was so scared but she made me feel better :)

  • @mileycyrusistheshiz : Good for you!! Don't be afraid, you will be fine. You will have a rough couple of days afterward but it will be all worth it. You are so brave waiting for your mom to save the money. I am surprised it wouldn't be paid for if it is a birth defect by insurance. At any rate, keep me updated with how you are doing.

  • Brynn, thank you for sharing your experience! My girl's ears looked like your previous ears. She too just completed surgery last week and is healing well. I'm glad you said you missed your old ears. That's normal to feel that way. Your video is making lots of other kids brave about surgery. Thanks again!

  • WOW 4000 for this surgery. Unreal!!!

In Canada this is almost free. For us our surgeon paid the 100 fee for the operating room, being nice and all..or maybe just being Canadian eh! Anyways very happy that he helped out. So sorry for you paying lots for this...glad it worked out for you though.

  • my mom definitely thinks that I look fine the way I am. She just doesn't understand how little can make a person feel better about theirself. I want this done soo bad, I just can't convince my mom to let me. I've talked to her about it, and she just kind of ignores me. I hope she will change her mind, because I just want to feel confident about myself.

By the way, her ears turned out great!

  • you are so cute no matter how your ears were , they look great , good for you

  • Wow i dont even seen any scar... this is great. Im really happy for her =)

Looking at her before pic was really tough... mine's were just as bad (or even worse). I only got around to doing this at 22. I only knew something could be done about it when I was about 20 sadly.

You saved her ALOT of drama... TRUSTTT MEE!!

  • oh yes i feel so happy for you maybe some day i will get this you look gorgeous

  • damn ,its to hard to convince my mom for me to do this procedure :(

  • @PhanTranEric Just go for a consultation and see what doc sez. My surgery was covered by insurance! Yes I too was tormented in grade school, so much so that I have worn the same hairstyle for 30 years. I used my long hair to cover my ears by pulling them back in a low ponytail. But I've pulled it so tight for so long that my sideburns were growing bald. I am so self-conscious and ironically chose a profession with lots of public speaking. Very short, low-risk recovery period. Worth every penny!

  • I have ears that stick out but I never was ridiculed...maybe like a couple times but not many. When I was younger I didn't have any insecurities with them until I got to like high school. All of a sudden I got insecure. I do someday want to get the surgery and I think that you did the right thing by getting Brynn the surgery.

  • Her ears in that photo you showed on the video was horrendous I think you made a very good choice. She was very brave to do that. Ouch though!

  • very brave of u brynn had this done 10 months ago and i have to get one of them done again because i take a bad reaction to the permanent stiches so i am going in to theatre 2morro

for all the people who are caught up in the decision defo get it done it helps in the long run

  • can i know how much does one of those surgery cost?cause im tired of ppl bullying me.and im black so will be there a scar visible cause every 2 week i need to go to the barbershop and will be there any scar?

  • Hi stingfly, ours was about $4000 including all doctor and hospital costs. You may be able to get it done cheaper. She does have a scar over a year later but it's in the crease of her ear and really not very visible at all. Good luck to you! And I'm so sorry about those jerks that are bullying you. They'll get theirs someday.

  • @SRG2000 In Canada, specifically in Alberta it's covered by the government for children.

  • @stingfly92 In Alberta (Canada) It's free because it's covered by the government for children.

  • @jnoubiieh94 Wow, that's awesome!

  • you saved her from years all bullying and torment at school. You did the right thing. Trust me, I know.

  • You made her life so much better. well done

  • Thanks, Horsey. People say all kinds of mean things on the other pages about how she should decide for herself and other stuff...but I think we made the right choice.

  • yes you made the right choice. I'm 24 and i have protruding ears and i have dealt with the bullying and ridicule my whole life. during school and even after graduation. my co-workers still till this day give me crap about them but not as much. Still a horrible nightmare but plan to get Otoplasty in 3-4 months :)

  • @SRG2000 Yeah I'm 22 and I wish my mom had done it for me. I hate wearing my hair up and I'm in nursing school so I have to, and since I'm in school I can't afford it and I can't wait for it to heal. My mom was also a misplaced house wife with no child support though, so she did work her butt of to give me everything she possible could. Next thing you should do is get ur daughter braces. My husband has them right now because his parents never got them for him. but, you probably have 2 wait a bit

  • @SRG2000 you really made the right choice kids will tease real bad belive me am getting mine done in 1 week am real exited

  • myn was free :)

  • hw did u get ures done 4 free

  • mine is 6000

  • how much does it cost...?

  • See Brynn's other videos with comments about where we had it done and how much it cost.

  • Great post-op results, you must be pleased.
