@theredwind Well, this exact version of this song never actually plays in the show itself. But this song if derived from 'Standing in the Sunset Glow,' which is the main track on the show's OST, and is the song that plays at that point in the story, including dozens of other parts.
But yeah, I couldn't agree with you more about this song setting the mood for the end of this incredible series. :)

Which, I'd honestly pay if I had the cash, as this is my favorite anime series of all time. I do have the DVD though, so I'm not at a total lost.
This anime is just incredible. It's not to long or filled with fillers: it's short, sweet, and charming. I just think the lesson to be learned is incredible.
When was this song used in the anime? I can't remember. I'm trying to learn how to play this on the piano and I thought maybe if I could remember when it was played it would help me think of the feeling supposed to go into it.

god i love how this song plays during the last episode. It kind of just gives the whole, EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE attitude the right feel. Optimism =)
