  • what is custard flour?? can a replace that with almond power/meal/flour instead??

  • @chouhone Custard Powder is an instant custard mixture. It's mostly corn flour and vanilla flavoring ;)

  • Can I use Vanilla Powder instead of Vanilla essence or extract

  • @fury1kid I recommend using Vanilla Extract or Essence ;)

  • can you substitute vanilla for the lemon juice in the filling?

  • @mndydltn1980 Yes, that's fine ;)

  • En francais 1cup correspond a quoi comme dosage!!! Merci

  • why he laughs after tasting the dish?

  • did anyone noticed the cookies looked like macaroons

  • I dont find custard powder can you give me another thing instead of it?

  • @johngarabatos You can add a similar amount of cornflour (corn starch) and add an extra teaspoon of vanilla ;)

  • THROW ONE MY WAY

  • I love your recipe videos and really want to try this one. I have a question though.

I like to use a lot less sugar than recipes call for in my baking; If a recipe calls for 1Cup sugar, I like to use 1/3 to 1/2 cup. Can I still do this with icing sugar? Or does the icing sugar have to have the recipe amount or it is not ratioed to the cream cheese properly?

  • @Ghelmaron I highly recommend following the recipe as stated. Reducing the measurements could have unpredictable results ;)

  • @Ghelmaron dont reduce to much sugar when u are baking. when u are baking. u have to follow the EXACT measurements. baking is a chemical reaction process. if you change the ingredients. the final product might be a disaster. u can reduce the sugar by 1/8 or maximum 1/4 when the recipe calls for 1cup. but that applies only when u are using granulated sugar. not icing sugar.

  • This man is a genius!

  • can you please write me down the indredient you put after flowr the yellow powder!

  • @johngarabatos Ingredient list is in the video description below the video ;)

  • Dude you are my heroo! love your videoooossss, and also love your food and spirit

  • these look delicious! i saw your lemon cheescake video a few minutes ago and then saw this! you still make very nice vids with better quality ;) i love how you try to find different terms so everyone in the world would understand

these cookies are another thing i should try myself!

but one question: do you think a different 'taste' would work too with these cookies? (i mean using some kinds of aroma or cocoa powder in the creamcheese mixture instead of lemon juice)

  • @Oguriblubb Absolutely - check out the rest of the comments on this video for more ideas ;)

  • What kind of custard powder do you need to put in the mix?

  • @TheMrbassclarinet Any type of instant custard powder will do ;)

  • Question! I would like the filling to a bit more "stiff" without compromising its current good qualities (taste, moisture, smoothness), is there any thing I can do to achieve this?

And thank you for this lovely recipe. I've found that 1/2 cup sugar to the cookies was sufficient, and doubling the lemon juice makes it more "tangy" and appealing to some. Overall, the recipe is a winner in terms of taste, ease, mass appeal and time required.

  • @RTatUTube The filling will set if you leave the completed cookies on a wire rack (or in the fridge in an airtight container) for a few hours. You could also use "Icing Mixture" instead of Icing Sugar. It contains a little corn flour / corn starch which helps with the setting ;)

  • How can this video get dislikes? It's a recipe! looks like 7 people don't like food

  • the cookie never came back down, gone in one hit lolol

  • @OnePotChefShow

Can i just say i baked your lemon cheesecake and my whole family liked it even my dog!;) lol !

    thanks alot!!<3

  • Hi, just watched this video, looks so delicious. I love the cookies from subway, so maybe you could upload a video with a recipe for them? (if you know, how to make them).

One thing, that I absolutly like about your videos is, that you use the metric system! thumbs up for that!

    Best wishes from Germany!

  • good work, could you make ur version of cinnamon rolls next, much appreciated :)

  • Thank you so much for your recipes. They are all my favorite :)

  • These are delicious, your recipes always are.

I think you are so much better than that stupid Nickos Kitchen, he annoys me and his recipes never turn out well.

  • They look great.

  • What a good man

  • T_T! I tried cooking this and failed. The dough didn't come together quite right no matter what I did. When I tried baking them they ended up more like rocks.Any tips for a novice baker/chef/person?

(By the way, I've tried a lot of other recipes of yours and they turn out "gorgeous" as you so put~)

  • @Aydub895 that's odd, it came together very easily for me. I assume all your ingredients were right and sifted, and your butter was room temperature, so if you knead it (after a lil mixing with the wooden spoon), it should stuck together right. Good luck second time round.

  • I want a T-shirt that just says "That's looking gorgeous!"

  • Lemon cheesecake is my favourite desert too! :D I must make these

  • those look delicious!

  • wow they look amazing. do you deliver?

  • Plllllzzzzzzz show us an easy recipe of donuts!!!!????

thanks, i love ur videos, i watch them almost everyday for new ideas and im only 13 haha :)

  • @OnePotChefShow

would i be able to maybe blend some rasberry or strawberrys and put them into the cream cheese mixture instead of the lemon juice? :)

  • @TheKnuddelteddy09 Yes, you can do that - sounds delicious :)

  • i made these the flavours didnt really work :s

  • hummmmm i want cookies

  • Yeah, scrumptious recipe! But how do you store them? Do they need to be kept in the fridge?

  • @graciebobbles Store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days ;)

  • By the way, I just made your chocolate chip cookie recipe and they turned out absolutely amazing! Only thing was that for the first batch, they remained ball/ muffin top shaped even after about 10 minutes but the second batch I flattened them a little bit with a spoon before baking.

  • At the end of the video you always say yum. Would you actually say yuk if you didn't like it?

One questions but, what temp the oven to cook the cookies and for how long??

  • @TatsushigeJapan 160 degrees Celsius for 15-20 minutes or until golden ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow Thanks for the info, just watched ya Coffee time, love it. Hope you have many happy times in ya new place.

  • Just curious, what effect does the custard powder have? Could I just make the cookies without it?

  • @ZBriguy52 The custard powder gives the cookies a mild custard flavor. You could replace it with the same amount of corn flour (corn starch) and add a little more vanilla ;)

  • love lemon cake so this is perfect! thanx

  • drool nom nom nom-I LOVE lemon flavored baked goods!

  • do u gt paid for posting videos and havin a certain no. of viewers??

  • Lemony

  • would these store well or is it best to fill them before serving/eating?

  • @spicywickedme Once made and filled, store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow doubt this would last long enough to end up being stored but it's good to know. thanks :)

  • wow, definitely gifted. Thanks for all the great recipes! My mouth is watering. =-)

  • Oh my god yummy!!! So can't wait to make this one:)

  • and what video did you delete ?

  • @wiwa116 LOL I didn't think anyone would notice that! I deleted the Christmas video from a couple of weeks ago ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow Why did you delete it Dave? :/

  • @mufceire I figure anyone who was going to watch it will have watched it by now. I just like to keep the channel tidy ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow Haha, a bit like your kitchen so! I can't wait to see the first video from your new one, you'll be well chuffed to have it all complete and up and running! :) BTW, is there any product/s that you would like me to send you from here in Ireland? • I Dont have custard powder D:

  • @wiwa116 Replace the custard powder with the same amount of cornflour (corn starch) and add an extra teaspoon of Vanilla ;)

  • I love watching your videos, David! You are a very gifted man.

    Keep it up!

  • I assume i could substitute lemon for a different filling of my choice. what do you recommend?

  • @St34DyB0y1409 Trying replacing the lemon juice with cocoa powder, peppermint or vanilla essence etc - the possibilities are endless :)

  • sir, you are a genius. i like all your recipes.

  • They look great mate, nice :)

  • Yummmm.... *drool* This is certainly more appetizing than anchovy and gogonzola cookies. ;)

I'm thinking of using key lime juice instead.

  • so do these need to be stored in the refrigerator since they contain cream cheese?

  • @RasputinaMina I'd keep them in an air-tight container in the fridge or in a cool, dark cupboard ;)

  • i am confused about the icing... is it royal icing, or cheesecake icing?

royal icing usally has the powered surger..

cheesecake icing usually has alot of flour...

  • your first 2 balls are like mine, one slightly bigger than the other lol ;)

  • screw my diet

You are pure evil. GOD BLESS YOU! (HUG)

On another note, I couldn't help but notice how your complexion has cleared up a lot. Not to mention your attitude during this video is back to its normal happy, easy-going self. Feeling better, I hope?

  • could you use egg or yolk in place of custard powder?

  • The only thing I don't like about these video's is that there is a such thing as to close of a close up.

  • You are a wicked wicked man. That looks ridiculously delicious. I think i gained two pounds just watching this.

  • Ooh, lovely!! Those sound wonderful. Nicely done - simple, well explained and oh boy, do they look good!

  • AAAAAA!!!!! looks so GOOOOD

  • You're sampling and I'm drooling!! Do they have to be refridgerated as its cream cheese?

  • @startingoutbackwards I recommend storing them in an air-tight container and storing in a cool, dark cupboard. Keep them in the fridge if it's a really hot day ;)

  • Can it be lemon juice out of a bottle or does it have to be fresh?

  • @MrButterworth24 Bottled lemon juice will be fine ;)

  • david your not very much help to my new year's resolution :D

  • yummmy

  • Hi Dave! What is custard powder? How do i get it in US? Does it have another name? Thank u i will make this cookies!

  • @iloveantonella Custard powder is a packaged product, almost like instant pudding mix, but is used (as you can probably tell) to make custard. Usually it's used as a thickener.

You can definitely find it in the US at supermarkets, usually by boxed pudding and Jell-O mixes, or other baking supplies. Hope that helps! :)

  • @iloveantonella I'm not Dave but i looked up substitute and people often substitute cornstarch or flour since the main ingredient in Custard Powder is cornstarch or flour

  • @iloveantonella here in Czech they dont have 'custard' either, but they have powdered vanilla pudding that you mix with milk and sugar which is basically custard, if you can find that your sorted : )

  • @iloveantonella Jello pudding would work!

  • What could I use instead of custard powder? They don't have it in my country

  • Is it just me or did you transfered to a new camera? Maybe it's just the lightening in your dads kitchen, but whole video looks so much better, better quality.

  • @846524162 Yes, I'm using a new camera ;)

  • Wow, I've been away from your videos for quite a while now, (Don't kill me!) and I must say I had almost forgotten how yummy the things you make look! Brilliant recipe as always Dave! :D

  • does the lemon juice need to fresh? or can i just buy a bootle of lemon juice? :)

  • @MexicanGovnah I used bottled lemon juice, but you can use fresh too if you have it ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow do u think it would be could with key lime jucie instead

  • @420phishingformoe420 Yes, you could use Lime Juice ;)

  • Is icing sugar the same thing as confectioner's/ powder sugar?

  • @ZBriguy52 Yes, it's the same ;)

  • great video, thank you so much for sharing ur video :) im going to give this a go this week :D

  • Simple and looks great = ) Have a lovely days. God Blesss

  • would adding a bit of lemon rind into the filling add a stronger lemon flavour? I dunno, I love lemon anything haha

p.s. my offer of marriage still stands!

  • Is that a hickey

  • I could see a variation of this dish, using the whole dough as a pie sheet, bake it first, then drop the usual ACTUAL cheesecake batter, and bake it like a cheesecake

  • What a lovely idea :) They look sooo yummi! I wanna try this recipe, thanks for sharing!

  • Yumm cheesecake cookies!! So awesome. They look soo deliciously cute, you are amazing!!!

  • Hey quick question.....lemon juice or...? (:

  • THIS IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING I HAVE EVER SEEN. *_*

  • sooooooooo good thanck and am sure ull win :)

  • Noticed a red mark on your face David, you okay?

  • @TheHappyChap101 Just a minor skin irritation - nothing to worry about ;)

  • HICKEY. you little minx! what was his name? (if you got his name!)

  • Excuse me.. could I take simple white sugar instead of icing sugar??

  • @inalovealba I recommend using icing sugar for best results ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow thank u very much xxxxx

  • @inalovealba If you don't have icing sugar, just add the regular white sugar to food processor or blender and pulverize to a powdery consistency. Be sure to sift it before using.

  • if only I had an oven :/

  • This reminds me of something. Do you ever think of making a video of Macaroons? I'm new to baking and I want to make my own instead of going out to buy those really expensive ones. Review for it? :]

  • Needs more lemon. You should have added lemon rind to the cookie dough to make it more lemony.

  • @thesockdraw This comment turns me on.
