  • sounds like my lawn mower, but,it's still a good car

  • this is the model with the ESP????

  • Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is a 66'. What a beaut!

  • @Patsbug66 all the '67 bugs in europe or at least here in sweden has those laying headlamps if thats what you mean. ;)

  • my aunt has a mid 60's beetle sitting (6 years) on their yard, 1 owner, rustfree (atleast was..) wish i could get that car and restore it before it rots away.. :(

otherwise rest (rust) in peace old beetle † (o\ ! /o)

  • i would totally have the beetle; I don't care if it only has like 57 HP it's a great crusin beach car. This beetle is almost like Herbie it doesn't have his pin stripes and number 63 and dont forget leather top to push back for sunny days. It has a decent stereo system too. This car is very clean and rust free with very low miles. They can run forever too. I would totally keep up with this beetle and keep it clean. Wax it every week.

  • every time i see this car i cant help think of herbie :p

  • @fgtxpaco7458ss i know right; if only it had herbie's pin stripes n the number 63

  • This looks to me like a 1966 or earlier. The 1967 models came out with sealed-beam headlamps.

  • DON´T DRIVE THAT CAR!! it have a manual gear! save a poor clutch and gear.

  • @dps023 what? id rather drive a manual than an automatic

  • nice accept Hitler made it :(

  • @nikothecrazygreek It was designed by Ferdinand Porsche. It was actually HIS dream to see a small, affordable car for the German public. Hitler merely wanted to capitalize on it.

  • @nikothecrazygreek except he didn't, besides what difference would it make? he's not alive anymore.. i love the beetle or bubble as we swedes call it! ;)

  • sounds just like my lawnmower

  • iTs A Classic ,,,, But The Performance Data iS Bad :(

  • @khalidwilburn I think you can easily swap the engine for a subura motor.

  • @khalidwilburn thats the character of these cars, they are not ment to be raced! a 40hp 1300cc engine is fine for a 850 kg car.

  • This has been approved by me! that thing is awesome! =]

    sounds great!

  • great little beetle!what was the asking price on this little gem?

  • If someone heavy enough is in the backseat. it can arc the battery and cause a fire. herd horror stories from my autoshop teacher in high school who had one.

  • In my country we call Fusca!! I live in Brazil!!

  • That looks like a '66 not a '67, unless it came from Europe. '67 didn't have the domed headlights, they were more upright looking.

  • @gatoperezoso You're right it is a '66. I have a '67 and the headlights are the upright with the bezzles. Although this one does have the reverse lights so as you said it is not a '67 or it's from Europe.

  • @amendoza5074 actually from what i can see everything about this bug is saying 67 except the headlights. door handles, door locks, seat belts, rear decklid. all the 1500cc aircleaner stuff, 12 volt, dash knobs and of course the reverse lights. Therse a very realistic chance that at one piont in its life it had the fenders changed to 66 or earlier ones. people do this to newer bugs. seems the slanted healight buckets are more popular. its still a very nice lil bug

  • >57

I don't think so, Tim. More in the 40 IIRC BUT the 57hp motor came some years later

  • The perfect BUG OUT vehicle for when the SHTF.

  • the engine on the 1938-2003 Volkswagen Beetle

    Engine

    1.2 L H4

    1.3 L H4

    1.5 L H4

    1.6 L H4

  • @Annihilator1111 1.1L 1131 24 Hp Man.

  • Someone put pre 67 headlights on it. Also Cal Look window seals (no "chrome" around windows).

  • make a test drive vid of this bug :D

  • @SHaWn650911988

Dead battery and probably wasn't running for a while. It just needs a good service ,and it will run great.

But all in all ,if you note how old this engine is (44 years) ,you still have to be impressed by it.

  • Great video Kyle. Glad you had a review of an old bug...

    Sly

  • Lol at the smoke xD

  • When you get a chance to review the new one, you should try to do all 3, and show differences and similarities!

  • What, no keyless entry? =)

  • @MuriloAndretta Come on... D:

  • @b67717 sarcasm, dude. relax

  • good oul country AM country tunes in a classic bug (Y) hehe

  • it's carbureted and needed to be choked and primed which he was doing

  • the transmission on the 1938-2003 Volkswagen Beetle

    Transmission

    4-speed manual transaxle

    3-speed clutchless manual ("Autostick")

  • @Annihilator1111 MANUALS FTW! :D

  • LMAO!!

  • i whuv the old beetle (o\ ! /o)

  • how come i don't see the new shape beetle beside it again

  • did you get a new engine?

  • I wanna go watch Herbie now.

  • I honesly dont like this beetles i like the newer ones!

  • he forgot to beep the horn cause the battery was dead

  • this car is so much fun to drive. My bio teacher let me drive hers after i graduated. its a 67 but doesn't have the chrome side skirts. I immediately fell in love and begged her to sell it to me. i dont blame her for not letting it go

  • Those headlights are NOT 1967 Bug. Engine sounds like has burnt exxhaust valve. Radio not original.

  • Sounds like a spark plug is not sparking. Yes they do great in snow!

  • You forgot to honk the horn!

  • It has vanity mirrors in the visors!!! My 1987 Camaro doesn't even have those! lol

  • the 67 bug has 60 horses

  • How reliable are 60's beetles? There is a baby blue/white 67 Beetle in immaculate condition near my house for $1900! I was thinking of selling my Subaru outback to get it, but would that be a bad idea? These aren't all wheel drive, like the outback. Does anyone have experience driving these in snow w/ chains? I appreciate any info.

  • @metalfunkjazz imagine how a rear engine, rear drive 2000 lb car drives in the snow. That's how it drives in the snow lol. The word reliable and any 1960's beetle don't exactly belong in any same sentence unless the word 'not' is included haha! I love my 63 to death, but man, is it a pain!

  • this is awesome.

  • please kind sir stop slamming my doors and decklid as well 67 did not have fish bowl head lights they vwere sealed beam first year for that in production so maybe some 66 down fenders on what appears as a jc whitney resto lol sorry the floor mats kill me glad 2 see random intrest man if you ever want 2 cover another 67 all original minus ride height let me know, while your reading this stop on by my channel 4 more great vw footage thanks, have a great day

  • Hey since it's white and they put red white and bule and a 53 on it it can be a Herbie even it's 67 and Herbie is a 63.

  • Wonder what they were asking for the beauty?

  • is that near rockingham county?

  • (O\_!_/O)

  • 2 cylinders ??? it has 4 cylinders boxer !!!

  • poor thing is only running on 2 cylinders :(

  • why didn't you use choke?

  • @pazaj0 It has an automatic choke.

  • Um salve para o fusca!

  • @Tryvaltor same

  • DRIVE IT, DRIVE IT, DRIVE IT (unless you already did)

  • That's one nice Bug. Makes me very nostalgic for my '74 that I had to sell. 1967 was a pivotal year for the Bug. Many enthusiasts consider it the dividing line between the old and new generation of Beetles. It was the last year for the "towel rack" bumpers and recessed headlights, and the first year for the 12-volt electrical system. 1967 Bugs also had many one-year-only parts. Thanks for posting.

  • nibe beetle !!!!!!

  • Shut up the guzzler

  • i own a beetle before and it save my life twice thanks to its huge bumper any car will have to think twice if they plan to tailgate you

  • Having trouble with the engine??? That is a long time ago with that gar

  • @saabkyle04 it had a manual choke is why it didnt start .

  • I think they have more horsepower than that

  • I belive it has about 30-40 horsepowers

  • sweet..

  • This car is cool the new bug isn't

  • you dont need to push in the cluch when you start it, its a 67.

  • @almostblind21 It's easier on the starter to engage the clutch when starting. That way the starter doesn't have to turn both the engine and the transmission. I drive a '72 and I still put the clutch in when starting.

  • i wish my 67 bug was in that good of shape damn

  • Thank you for pointing out those headlamp lenses... Other than that, it looks like a '67, but those headlamps scream 66.

  • the 1967 Volkswagen Beetle had a 1585 cc horizontally opposed 4 cylinder engine producing 65 horsepower @ 4600 rpm and 87 foot lbs torque @ 2800 rpm.

  • Don't Scare Herbie

  • now we know where the key is XD!

  • i wouldnt mind the baja version i love how those look

  • i will be getting a 1969 or a 1974

  • give it a dam tunup

  • why you dont make a test drive? :)

  • wow we love this Volkswagen in Mexico city . we called on spanich Bochito . escarabajo or Vocho jejeje great video .. ----->

  • My dad used to have a red 1970 VW Super Beetle but he sold it :(

  • @Trikster1of4 I could be wrong, but the Super didnt start til 71?

  • @Trikster1of4 I could be wrong, but the Super didnt start til 71?

  • @Pghpunkid

    it started aroun 1970

  • @Pghpunkid

    it started around 1970

  • My dad used to have a red 1970 VW Super Beetle but he sold it :(

  • @fordsuckbigtime

    Ford is a great company

    Ford doesn't suck

  • Beetle's motor sounds like no other: it seems like a switzerland clock!!!

  • I bought one a couple of days ago, in the same colour. It needs some serious work on the interior though.

  • Comment removed

  • may need a valve job.

  • Do you work for monroe company?

  • @spencer21231 Oh no, they, as well as a bunch of dealers around the dealer let me make videos of their inventory, I just mention them as thanks for letting me do so

  • @saabkyle04 That's cool

  • Great L@@King (O\_!_/O).

By the sound of it running the starter motor needs to be pulled out cleaned, overhauled with new brushes. A New Battery (BOSCH) wouldn,t hurt.

The timing is way out, possibly the points are worn and out of adjustment or else the distributor cap is cracked.

With this Bug being 12 volt an electronic ignition with "NO POINTS" will do wonders for this beautiful car.

The interior of this Bug is superb, love the seats and the headliner.

    Overall this car is neat.

  • Dang . Can you please do a test drive for it or a different type of old one? Thanks

  • sounds like a lawn mower

  • I love'67 bugs :-)

  • I just got a car today just like this one except it need a lot of work, and it is a 1969 model . :D

  • I do one almost every mornin, its cold where I live

  • your not that good at getting it started.lol i have the same one, i am a champ at this thing, push starting it and jumping it man i love this car

  • @almostblind21 do a cold start of yours

  • I so want that bug!

  • 67 was a great year for the bug.

Wished that my 73 1200 standard looked the same as this one.. You need a quick engine tune-up and you're good to go!

  • If only VW could build cars with the same quality today.

  • new bugs suck

  • I agree

  • the 1938-2003 VW Beetle was assembled in Wolfsburg, Hanover, Emden Ingolstadt, Osnabrück, Germany Melbourne, Australia Brussels, Belgium São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil Jakarta, Indonesia Dublin, Ireland Puebla, Puebla, Mexico Auckland, New Zealand Lagos, Nigeria Manila, Philippines Uitenhage, South Africa Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Valencia, Venezuela
  • sounds like a explosion lol

  • la revelacion de Dios el pueblo bal bla bla

  • I own this car. it's royal blue and has the same interior. but has no gaz indicator. hehe

  • I love the radio sound

  • engine sounds a bit worn out, doesnt sound new and tight...sounds like it doesnt hav good compression.. but overall its ok.

  • .how-to-waste-your-money.

  • Herbie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • At 7:15 in this video you can see quite a bit of rust in the chasis. In these Volkswagen beetles, a rusty floorpan is not a good thing.Eventhough this car looks good from the outside, with that rusty floorpan, I would not give you much for this car.The first thing to look at when checking out an older beetle is the floorpan and the front suspension. If rusted, pass it up, unless you want to do a lot of restoration work.

  • how much cc?

  • 4:11 old fashioned AC

  • just gotta jumpstart the battery.. LOL i should've expected something would be wrong ^_^

and i bet you money that the car has at least 131,xxx miles on it.. they roll over after 99,999. I hate when people advertise their bugs as "Low Miles!" on craigslist. heck, it could even have 231,xxx!

  • oh ! i want one in white !

  • accccually its 54 horsepower

  • @102Help - IIRC the actual HP rating (gross) was 53.

  • @thespeez was only 1 off

  • @102Help - Understood! FTR this was the first year for the 1500 cc engine and it was also the first year for the 12-volt electrics. It was also the last year for the smaller oval tail-lamps, last year for the under the hood gas filler the last year before stringent emissions took effect, and the only year for the small rectangular back up lamps on the bumper.

  • old beetle > new beetle

  • why he push the clutch when he start it, old cars didnt need to :S

  • @botztrap - it's a good safety precaution, especially if the car is in gear.

  • @botztrap Easier to start because the engine doesn't have to spin the transmission as well. Especially true for a car that's tough to start and in very cold weather it's impossible to start without without holding the clutch down and when it's just cold (-10C) you can hear the difference when the car is cold.

  • @Ty4ons youre right I got a 63 and could feel the difference, I got a 2000 too, and on this one did not made any difference, dunno if it is cuz I fuel injected...

  • Country music in a Beetle.... Should be Rammstein!

  • listen to them 50 horses of fury! lol, this is a nice little classic bug, you don't usually see them in this good of shape w/o em being restored.

  • I don't think this guy has ever started a carbureted engine with a manual choke before. :) Could have saved yourself a bit of time restarting it 100 times.

  • @SilentServiceCode This car has an automatic choke, not a manual one.

  • Hey just a little pointer with tese old bugs it's not good to tap the gas so much on start up tap it twice than attempt to start if not then give it another pump but be carefull these flood easy

  • That front end is NOT original! The '67 had standard sealed beams. The last years for those headlights was 1966. I take it that those 'bug' floor mats came from a J. C. Whitney catalog. I take it that the radio was AM only. That was probably all you could get with those back then (at least from the factory).

  • @6:12 LA REVELACION DE DIOSS !!! LOL!!

  • those aren't the original headlights!!!!!very awsome though

  • those aren't the original headlights!!!!!very awsome
