  • HELL YEAH!!

  • Great sound!Great song!Great Mark Knopfler!

  • Thanks for uploading this superb piece of music

  • Jezz,to 89 dick-heads who have disliked the Great MASTER we others can just say: in what misery you spend your miserable life....

MARK KNOPFLER is simply the Shakespeare of music of all fucking times....

  • Are you a moron, as I said, look for the interview, you will find knopfler HIMSELF saying what I said, as for the swearing and name calling it has only come from you, Just look for the interview or are you the type who doesn't like facts getting in the way of a good story. And if you are the sort of person who has to seek attention and positive affirmation ie: Anyone who likes my comment make a comment to make me feel popular etc, then you are a sad little nothing. Now, PLEASE intercourse off

  • @egyptology22 All i said was educate yourself before making stupid & ignorant comments about MK. I gave you the facts about why what you said was bullshit. You said MK couldnt even solo before he joined Brewers Droop which is complete bs.

Secondly as ive already mentioned in my early post's to your retarded self that MK is very humble and never acknowledges his mastery of the guitar. MK is a very humble man and he's not going to say he's one of the greatest even tho we all know he is.

  • i watch him play and i can't even fathom what i'm seeing. but hearing it is absolutely surreal!

  • BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Oh my God! So exciting, so emotional, so,...

  • He's self taught, and when he was in Brewers Droop his first band he couldn't even play a solo, now look at him, deadset legend and up there with David Gilmour

  • @egyptology22 Complete BS. Try to educate yourself before writing ignorant comments about Mark Knopfler. MK was a very accomplished guitar player & finger picker when he joined Brewers Droop. He was 24 years old with 9 years of guitar playing under his belt. Brewers Droop wasnt his first band & it wasnt MK's band. MK played guitar for them in 1973. Brewers Droop was formed in 1972 by Ron Watts & if memory serves me correctly had 2 albums out before MK played with them for some months in 73.

  • @fIRsTRATmAN

Firstly, read the post again. I have an interview of him saying exactly what I wrote, I don't think he would lie about himself would he? Secondly, read my first point, and thirdly, practice what you preach, educate yourself before you write.

  • @egyptology22 Upload the interview then. Its not lying about himself you idiot its called being humble. MK is very humble and is never going to say he's the greatest or even very good for that matter.

  • @fIRsTRATmAN

Are you completely fucked in the head? READ what I said, it was not putting him down in ANYWAY, he needed no one to defend him at all you troll, look for the interview yourself, it was with the BBC in 1986. I'm not wasting my time time on another moron on you tube who thinks its his god given right to abuse anyone who has an opinion. Now, stick your strat back up your ass and stop wasting my fucking time, and get off the drugs, you may read a little better.

  • @egyptology22 Your opinion of MK not being able to play a single solo when he joined Brewers Droop is not true at all and complete bs. Educate yourself before talking about something you clearly dont have a clue about. Now how about you blow another blood vessel and freak out, you dumb ignorant cunt.

  • @fIRsTRATmAN

Troll, you seem to have a lot of time on your hands, so find the interview, WATCH the ACTUAL WORDS coming in out of his OWN MOUTH, and then you can send Mark a nasty message telling him he is full of shit. As for the last part of your non-sensical response, talk about the pot calling the kettle black. HELL YEAH. TROLL

  • @egyptology22 The only troll here is you for saying MK couldn't even play a guitar solo before he joined Brewers Droop & by that ignorant & retarded statement of yours, you clearly lack any knowledge of MK & guitar playing in general. You have to resort to swearing & calling names b'coz there is nothing much you can say to save yourself. I will say this for the last time MK was a very good & accomplished guitar player when he joined Brewers Droop. MK is my hero and sadly you are a zero.

  • Wowie.

  • Apparently the guy is a bit of a bighead, when he can play music like this, is it any wonder why ??

  • He'll be puttin everyone else to shame til the day he dies!

  • He's always at the top of my charts - a genuine master imo

  • Why the watermark on the video? Pretty distracting and, uh, unnecessary IMHO.

  • @fIRsTRATmAN HELL YEAH!!

  • @fIRsTRATmAN He's not only a Guitar God but also an awesome songwriter. IMO he's up there with the likes of Lennon and McCartney! It's hard to see him placed at #44 in Rolling Stone's greatest guitarist list. 44?! Is that some kinda joke?! He should be in the top 15! >.<

  • @abir12501101 THAT ROLLING STONE LIST IS A JOKE. McCARTNEY AINT GOT NOTHING ON MARK KNOPFLER. TOP 15 ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME? GUITAR PLAYING AINT AN OLYMPIC SPORT.

  • Marks the man thats just my opinion i also like arseholes but the have to be female and sliding up and down my c***k.

  • i agree Mark is often overlooked by the popular press as who I consider to be one of the best ever artists not only the quality of his palying but his writing is up there with the best again

  • Mark Knopfler is the only guitarist that can create songs that can put pictures in my head. A true genius.

  • if you dont like this you probably dont like PUSSY !!

  • my best and all the best guitar player on world, ok eric clapton is also fucking nice haha

  • what i want played at my funeral.

  • Knopfler is in a very small, very elite group of guitarists....... and just like fine wine, gets better and smoother with age. Love how he just gets on stage and plays, no gimmicks, no bullshit, just him plying his craft. A pure joy to watch and listen too.

  • AMAZING

  • I mean the man plays with his figures in order to get the best sound. not many players do, apart from Jeff beck. top 10 in my eyes :O)

  • This man is the king of guitar!!!

  • Who wrote this list??!! And who else is on it in what order?

Gotta see this list!...Ever see Knopfler perform with Clapton? Different styles, equal talent..

  • if you played this to the younger generation- their response would be ; wtf is this shit

my response is; wow what great music annd man mark knopfler can still play

  • daaaamn

    ... wish that I could (n)

  • e un grandeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Simply amazing! It fills me with joy to watch him play. I just melt into this song!

  • Comment removed

  • As a young man, I bought "Love Over Gold" on cassette when it first came out. I'd listen to the "Telegraph Road" solo while cruising down a highway late at night. It may sound a little odd, but it just "seemed right" for lack of a better description. Knopfler doesn't get his due when great guitarists are discussed. This is pure artistry genius at work.

  • @ChargerRT440 - I never was much of a Dire Straights fan but always loved Mark's guitar work. I guess in a way I am agreeing with you (for what it is worth).

I think that (also in my younger day) I did not pay enough attention to Mark Knopfler but I am sure as hell loving his style in the present day!

For me it might just be an age thing but when the "Best Guitarist" conversation comes up Mark's name is popping up more and more within my 50 year old club.

Hmm, I wonder what that means.

  • @Tull29 Im only 23 and I have known Mark is the best since I was 10. You are very late learning this! Knopfler, and Joe Satriani, are the two guitarists that do the absolute most with their guitars as much as they can. Eric Clapton for instance, is great dont get me wrong, but is given too much credit. He is nowhere near the level of player or composer that MK or Satch are. MK is hands down the most individual guitarist of all time. Hes a true gentleman too which make him all the more great.

  • @theSicilianToe -well, I'm not going to get into the "Who's The Best" conversation (that is a matter of personal taste) but I was talking to a fellow work colleague (age 63) last night at work and for the life of both of us we cannot figure out why Mark usually ranks so low on the "Best" lists.

We are both veterans of literally dozens upon dozens of concerts and we both agree that it is a shame that neither of us has ever seen Mark live.

  • @Tull29 Probably because people judge a guitarist by the number of hits they have. Its the reason Jimi Hendrix is boasted so high, because he was so popular during the hippie era. If you take all that hogwash away he is a terrible guitarist that cant play any one of his songs the same way twice, and he misses notes left and right. You have to appreciate music to love Knopfler, because people are distracted by his voice and they dont pay attention to his guitar - which is his voice.

  • @theSicilianToe you may not like Hendrix but to say he is a terrible guitarist just kills your whole argument b'cos your bias is blatant. Having hits does not take away from one's talent. He "missed" notes left and right by choice and by choice played his songs different ways. His genius is undeniable so is Mark's....both legends!!

  • @mysticman7765 I dont care if it was by choice or not his music doesnt sound good. This sounds good. Satriani sounds good. Clapton sounds good. They perfect their talents. Hendrix was just a lot of sound to me. I dont care what he did for the industry. Hes a lot of sound.

  • @theSicilianToe whatever man, I enjoy both alot and equally.....like assholes we all have our own opinion, I will leave it at that!

  • @mysticman7765 Having an opinion about somebodys music doesnt make me an asshole. If you cant take criticism then show business isnt the business you should be in.

  • @theSicilianToe WOW, WOW! Relax, no one is calling anyone an asshole....have you never heard the saying" like an asshole everyone has an opinion"? meaning we all have our own opinion about everything one way or another.

  • @Tull29 I personally like that raspy mans voice Knopfler sings with (like Alabama 3). Of course somebody like Whitney Houston is great but its just not my thing. I like instrumentals. Most people however, they want Justin Biebers and Katy Perrys. They dont know the first thing about what it takes to make music. They think it all comes out of a computer.

  • @Tull29 You MUST see Mark live. IDK how others feel about musicians, but Knopfler is like god to me. He always was. When I saw him live in Syracuse two years ago, man I had to hold back tears. It was like a dream come true. Granted today he is more laid back and doesnt jam with Dire Straits anymore, his musics more country then rock, jazz, or blues, but hes still terrific, and still plays Sultans and Telegraph and Money for Nothing at his solo shows. Hes still brilliant though, and still touring

  • @theSicilianToe - at my age and living in Canada I might not have that opportunity. Mark Knopfler is one of three artists that I will regret not having seen (Ian Anderson, and The Moody Blues being the other two).

For what it is worth my second favorite Knopfler song is "What it Is".

  • @Tull29 I am pretty sure he tours in Canada too. And anyways make a weekend of it and come down to the States, see him perform. I live about 2 hours driving time from the border. Just across the lake from Toronto in Rochester, NY. He is touring in Syracuse again later this year im sure, either that or Buffalo. Rent a hotel and go see him. This mans a legend. It would be like seeing Beethoven. I love What it is but I think my favorite song is his from his solo career has to be 5:15 am.

  • @ChargerRT440 , for lack of a better name is a deathmau5 album, for lack of a better description.

  • @ChargerRT440 this guy IS at the same level as Hendrix, Clapton etc, pure wizardry with the guitar and anyone who disagrees can eat a fat one!!

  • @mysticman7765 Trust me, I KNOW that! I've just been in too many bull sessions where some numbnuts will rattle off a litany of guitarists & leave Knopfler out of the mix.

  • @ChargerRT440

It doen't sound odd at all. The song is amazing. I drove back from Nates to Brest during the night 3 years ago and listened to Alchemy all the way and this song just kept me going. Tunnel of love is my othe favourite on the album

  • Mark Knopfler has mastered the guitar. There are very few who have. The guitar is an easy instrument to learn but very hard to master.

  • Master

  • Just amazing!

  • The best guitar solo ever.

    Emotional

  • ive just witnessed god playing the guitar !!!!!

  • What a great master

  • Hey farco777, great video, but do you have to make it all douchy with your name in the background and "AMAZING AUDIO" in the title? It is a great video! The audio is great too! Let it be what it is, no one's gonna steal it. Great work on the video, seriously it was awesome.

  • N - 1 !!!!

  • mmh sesy girl with a nice personality kiss

  • awesome guitarest

  • love Free Bird ...but Mark bloody well out freebirds that damn piece with one strat instead of an explorer an SG and a Les Paul...

    freaky friday...

  • Mark K. ist eine Coole Sau!

    Großartig!!!!

  • that leters are stupid

  • 1%. Lord, just grant me 1% of Knopfler's talent. Awesome. His ranking of #27 is far too low. He certainly belongs in the top 10? Thanks for posting this.

  • @harpman54 nobody that knows what a guitar sounds like follows by that silly list. joe satriani, ec, santana, knopfler, and gilmour are top 5 best guitarists in the world id say hands down because they showcase their talents on the guitar more then all the others. satriani and knopfler are top 2 i would say for unique individuality and doing the most with their guitars. clapton for example is just a more popular songwriter. still a great guitarist but nowhere near knopflers level.

  • @harpman54 You said it my friend. Always liked some of the old timers like Django too. But MK is in my top 3!!

  • @harpman54 FUCK MAGAZINES AND LISTS!!!...

  • @harpman54 rankings of artists are complete bollocks. why do you care about such nonsense?

  • Lots of good things going on in this song. But what stands out to me most of all is Mark Knofler's choice of notes and sense of melody. Brilliant!

  • awesome awesomer awesomest ...

  • I could listen to this freakin awesome solo 20 times in a row. The best solo of dire straits for me

  • just love this==}}

  • NONE BETTER

  • DUDE... take your damn logo off these! Who the hell cares who FARCO 777 is!!

  • @mauricew1 if it wasnt for farco you wouldnt see this masterpeice !! be thankfull fro what you are watching mongo !!!!

  • The best of the best .. no more to say !!!!

  • I never get tired of this! He IS the #1 greatest guitar player.

  • Mark.. you're just freakin' awesome.

  • 84 dislikes?

    Check volume.

    Is mute on?

  • głosy na nie= cioty pedały kurwy stare zryte berety i cały pis! Mark the best!!!

  • Just the best - Mark Knopfer.

    Enough said.

  • Who's the anal orifice who ruins the video by superimposing FAGGOT over every frame?

  • Mark, siempre has sido mi ídolo. Cada vez que te escucho los buenos recuerdos me inundan y la piel se me eriza. Eres el mejor. Desde Cáceres (España), que gran concierto diste en el 92!

  • watching FARCO in the middle of the video sucks......what an idiot

  • True master of craft! One of the nest of the best, bar none. Makes Zack Wylde look like shit... No comparison.

  • THE world's greatest precision guitarist..

forget Hendrix and all the rest (although they are skilled as well)..

Knopfler is the king of guitar, (and lives just up the road from me)

  • Classic!

  • When You do what you love, You creaet magic.

    Rock on,yeah!

  • Not much hair anymore but boy can he play that Guitar!! Keep playing like that Mark!

  • At 1:44 Mark Knopfler enters God Mode

  • such a unique and rich tone

  • I can't think of the right words to describe this video, but I can say it is wonderful. I am 57 and I have always thought that Mr.Knopfler was that best guitarist I have ever heard.

  • First, I must say that I LOVE MK and particularly Telegraph Road. I listen to this song since 20 years without never being bored.

BUT: I must say that this performance is definitely NOT his best; listen to the version in Basel (1992). You will see the Master at the top of his art.

  • Check out the "Tony Martin Group" on Youtube if you love great feeling and tone, he is awesome ;-)

  • Must... buy... a... Farco... now...

  • WOW What camera did you use? I want one!!! Amazing audio quality :-)

  • Woaaaahhhhhhh can yo do it better, I dont think so.

  • Love Over Gold best album ever!

  • I worked in his house once when he was a god of mine, gutted he wasnt home !!

  • Mark Knofler= The God

  • This prove one more time, that its not how many notes you can rattle of in 5 seconds, its WHAT notes the guitarist play and the phrasing that counts. This, and the TIME.
