Hi KatsDogs i have a question i have an 18week old borrder collie puppy and he has had some trobloe with jumping up on me when i try to run with me do u have and advice
Very interesting. It's cool to see how much tighter she's wrapping with that extra stride. How did you get her to understand the 'ground bar' in the first place, by just watching and C/T'ing until she figured out the connection?
We had done a great deal of jump training before I started this, so she already had the skill for those wraps. The ground bar was really a way for me to uphold criteria and make a clearer "boundary" for her if you will.
So right from the beginning she was adding in that stride and I could selectively reward it. :)
Fantastic job! It's incredible how increased the quality of the wrap is with that extra stride. Very nice work. Are you able to apply this now without the extra bar? And integrated amongst other obstacles? Or is that a longer term goal?
She is already pretty good with added a stride on-course. We still need to do more reps like this to build that muscle memory but so far she's lookin' good!
Great vid, thanks for posting! Reminds me of how Silvia Trkman uses separate cues for jumping with extension and collection. That's what I've been doing with my dogs recently.
haha i meant when i run with him so he can jump***

if u dont mind me asking but what is the point of adding a extra stride ???
i am very new to agility , my dog and i only have done 2 UKC trials 1 fun run
My dog is starting to refuse it jump i dont know if it is something i am doing or not
i am trying to get him to do what i ask of him { like get out to go to a jump } i am also trying to tell him to go around to go in a circle
