  • getting one next year after no rideing for a year after the crash so cant wait leg is almost normal cant wait to get back on a bike.

  • you just made me order one! Nice one dude!!

    greetings from Portugal!!

  • You talk very fast...can`t even hear what you say!

  • Not sure what you mean by "BMW style shifting"

  • @turbo311 The gear lever doesnt stop when you hit first.....have you ridden a bmw? There gear box is different, ie, on most bikes you stamp down, and when you hit 1st, you cant move pedal anymore.................

Its just how they design it!

  • Hi Everyone

I am looking for a bike with ABS. My options so far are V Strom, Versys and Transalp. I currently ride a Honda Varadero 125cc.After an hour i find the seat uncomfortable. I want a bike with ABS which is very comfortable. I would like to tour Europe. My budget is £4500. Any advice would be great. I will be mostly riding on European roads and the UK. At most a gentle country track. Any advice would be great. Cheers

  • @mesmerizeme From my understanding if comfort is priority you want the V-strom. If you're buying new the revised 2012 model is due next month here in the States, not sure when in the UK. The Versys is a little smaller, lighter and punchier I think, but I also think it feels a little cheap as Kawasaki's tend to do. Can't give opinion on the Transalp as it's not sold here. Cheers.

  • @turbo311 Hey thanks for the reply. I am going to try all three. I can read every review on the web but riding will tell me very soon. Thanks for your advice

  • @mesmerizeme The dealers there let you test them? Used bikes or new? Here you can't get a test ride unless they have a "demo" bike and that's usually only found at BMW/Ducati/Triumph dealers.

  • Excellent work, bud! I know it's a bit of a stretch but I'm getting my first bike after almost two years on a scooter. Would you recommend it as a first bike?

  • @kenderki Nah man could be the perfect bike to be fair bro!!! Let me knwo if ya get one! Ride safe!

  • i like the new transalp... but in answer to Simon44, i have an F800GS and if you found the handling bad you must have had a badly set up bike. mine and my brothers handle great... tires have no chicken strips at all... the transalp is a smaller buke with more road bias... both good bikes but i dont really think you can compare them

  • beautifull wwwwooooooooo

  • I didnt add the question of steering, hows corner steering , better than v strom?

  • I would really appreciate if you helped me out, im desperate, no dealer says the truth, my friends ride superbikes and wont help me. :S

  • Wow awesome video, can you help me out with few questions

    1) Whats the average fuel consumption of this bike, because i look for a commuter. Im between BMW F650GS (2009) Transalp 700abs (2008) and Suziki Dl 650abs they are all 650-800 cc. Bmw claims 3.6 l/100km Suzuki reviews 5.5 l/100km. What about This..? i havent seen review for transalp.

    2) Is it more nimble than Suzuki Dl650? cuz suzuki is more nimble than F650gs

  • Great video! The only thing you could improve is the sound reception on your helmet mike. Cheers! ;)

  • Whats the handling like with the Transalp? Can you get your knee down so to speak or is it just too tall? I test drove a BMW F800GS and found it quite bad for handling around corners. Is this any better?

  • I havent ridden that BMW mate, but will say this is a lot more nimble than any other enduro bike i have ridden, you can throw it much more into corners, where most are point and hope!!

  • Ah thanks dude - you totally get it!! Thats the point!!

Wooo! Yeah teh side cam is cool - but then I cant talk as the mic is too far away, but will defo get some more shots that way as it looks ace!!

Thats very hard, I loved the R6, had one for a year, but that CBr600 RR was immense.

No fence sitting then............Id say R6, while the CBR600RR is probably the better bike, I found the R6 to have a bit more character you know??

But honestly - both are phenomenal machines!!

  • Just seen it, more on board side camera shots please!!! So R6 Or CBR600RR and no fence sitting!!! Although that was an older CBR. The thing with techno is everyone can argue with you about stats but when its your personal experience, what you say goes. Keep it up I say

  • Dude you so get it!! have you seen the CBR600RR review when I took it up to the Ponderosa cafe in Wales - wicked!!

And yeah new Blade will be reviewed soon - mayeb do a track comparison between it and its big rivals!

  • I have ridden a lot of heavy bikes and it is all about the way the weight is distributed. Both great bikes though, look forward to a Blade review perhaps???? Just a raw test all feeling and no techno babble getting in the way.

  • And obv its only my opinion! other people may disagree...some people dont get that lol!

And yeah - if you ride the transaklp - it defo feels torquier and nimbler - so cheers!!

  • TheBlade!! thank you!!

I know most people get that these reviews arent done from the normal Boring techy side like you get in mags (if you want that kind of review, lol - go to the mag i work for MCNs channel. This is meant to be the complete opposite, a more viseceral riders review) - its supposed to be about the actual riding experience!!

yeah more comparisons on way - in fact some awesome stuff coming up!!

  • I'm confused dbauernf. Yes the Transalp is down on power but heavier?? Look on Hondas and Suzukis website, I think you will find the V-Strom is 2KG heavier (according to manufacturer). Great review LUKE, more comparisons please.

  • My bad - even though its called a 700, its only a 680!

yeah I know on paper the v strom has more power, but thats why I dont look at those kind of things before ir ride, its all to do with how the bike feels mate!!

I try noty to read into the stats at all, as for me its all about feel!!

  • Great answer...

By the way, you didn't said anything about the vibration on the handlebars and on the footpegs!!!???

I ride a 250cc maxi-scooter, and that is not an issue. And so, i'm a little afraid of not getting used to the vibration of this motor. Do you think this bike would be a good upgrade to me?

  • @starmad6 Not too bad man!! You wouldnt notice it tooo bad at all fella! yeah it would be ace for you!

  • @starmad6 Don't worry about that, I've ridden it, and you don't feel any exaggerated vibration. The engine is wonderful. I've just trade my 08 fireblade in for one of these babies ;)

  • The comments re Transalp being faster/nimbler are interesting, since it's heavier and has less power then the Vstrom. Oh btw, it's just 35cc between them.

  • Dotn worry mate - working on it!!!

Its a nice learning curve!! Hopefully might get a helmet mic soon so i dont have to shout to my helmet camera lol!

  • Your motorcycle reviews are very interesting. Improved audio quality would make them even better. Keep up the good work!
