  • ever tried doing it? theres an easier variation of this called the frog stand which does look a lot harder than it really is, but its still pretty hard. try this one, is called the tucked planche, just try holding it for 10 seconds, i really doubt you can

  • Its not a trick, it requires really good core and shoulder strength. If it was just a trick, why would gymnasts spend hours doing this????

    frog stand is started with your legs outside your arms, requires no strength whats so ever, just a sense of balance

  • nice job! now get some parallettes and do them on those with your hips and shoulders level. that's how you're supposed to do tucked planche pushups. good triceps/shoulders strength though!

  • Lol, well to be honest i did that with out working out, its nothing to do with playing sports or not.. its simply being able to carry your own body weight and having a good center of gravity

  • these are not planche push-ups, if anything these are called ball-planche push-ups and are just one of many exercises serving to learn how to do true planche push-ups (which are very-very hard).

  • I can do a frog balance for 15 seconds at a time, how can I get my wrists strong enough for a 5 second tuck planche?

  • in general, you need frog for 60 seconds before tuck planche, and even then, you will probably not be able to hold it for more than a second. just keep doing tucks until you can hold for 1, then 2, then 3, then 4 etc... seconds. learning the tuck planche is a difficult part of the progression, but a couple months practice , and youre golden.

  • yeah i'll film tomorrow a training way to practice for planches - baisically from the frog position stretch one leg out and lift it as much as you can while str8 and keeping you back str8 and bring it back and do the same with the other leg

  • no, because when you do the push ups you need more hieght and its more pressure on the wrists so this is harder than when hips are align to shoulders.
