Even though it was just before he was born, my father loved the Big Band Era and Glen Miller. If he had lived I wonder if that era would've lasted a little longer and if my father could've enjoyed it while it was still going on. Maybe not, but my father felt so out of place with the rock n' roll music of his generation.

I read somewhere that Miller's plane was destroyed by ordinance dropped from an American bomber that was coming back to England, as unused bombs were dropped in the English Channel prior to landing.
