Even though it was just before he was born, my father loved the Big Band Era and Glen Miller. If he had lived I wonder if that era would've lasted a little longer and if my father could've enjoyed it while it was still going on. Maybe not, but my father felt so out of place with the rock n' roll music of his generation.
I read somewhere that Miller's plane was destroyed by ordinance dropped from an American bomber that was coming back to England, as unused bombs were dropped in the English Channel prior to landing.
Glad to see this series here. I used to watch this on A&E and then the History Channel. Why the hell it hasn't been released on DVD is something I'd like to know. Who owns the series?
beautystruck: thanks for uploading this. I have this, Amelia, and D.B. Cooper on VHS but my belongings are in storage. This was one of the better examinations by In Search of.
A timed bomb on board, very simple, used also to finish off

I heard he got distracted while playing a 'rusty' trombone. Just one explanation, not necessarily the only one.

@hunternieuport It was determined that the bombs were dropped in the North Sea according to military records and eyewitness accounts.

Well I'll be! I had no idea that Glenn Miller had such a mystery tacked onto his life and, perhaps, even his reputation.

I heard that shortly after take off Glen Miller pulled and his service revolver and shot the pilot in the dick and that is what caused the crash.
