Very nice finds. I would warn you about starting to mod Xboxs. They are so easy to mod and there are so many different things that can be done with that hardware it can get addicting. I know if I see an Xbox for under $10 I pick it up and just see what I can do with it.
nice i am loving the top loader nes i wish i had one so i can play my nes games but since i dont collect for the nes i will not be getting one unless one falls in my lap for a good price.
Cool tablet, yep plenty of neat things could be done with that. Nice looking N64, defenitely a step up over the other one. Rambo, nice find. Too bad about The Immortal, great game. Nice Genesis carts Woah! 8:00 my view is askew lol. That is one tip top Snes, kudos. Me neither I'm no fan of the Snes Jr., you could probably get a tidy sum for it. A top loader, don't you already have a much nicer one? ^_^ Nice find on the dogbone. Xbox mod sounds cool. Great deal Thomas. :)
Great set of Pickups as always matey - that tablet looks to have been a great find as part of that price you paid.. thats one thing that I'd like on the iPad is an ethernet port.. lol
@XFile2708 Thanks Marcus! :) Yeah was really stoked on finding the tablet...so many things to try hehe :D The iPad has wireless though, right?...I'm guessing you can get faster speeds wired?
@XFile2708 Thanks Marcus! :) Yeah was really stoked on finding the tablet...so many things to try hehe :D The iPad has wireless though, right?...I'm guessing you can get faster speeds wired?
great grab with that tablet man! lots that can be done with that (the screen really did look nice) you can never have enough N64's! looks to be in great shape like you said and having the expansion is always a plus. cool retro game finds also, i really need to get an SNES and thats awesome that you grabbed both models! Wow and the NES Toploader haha what a lucky day for you! I need to get an Xbox too! haha you found a lot of consoles i've been looking for! fantastic grabs! RetroGameTech is cool!
@gibbotron09 Thanks Gib! :) I've been told the HP TC1100 was (is) a great tablet (has a really nice display). The drivers are a pain for some reason, but finally got that sorted out.
Sick console scores Thomas, qbertaddict1 does some cool XBox videos and shows why you should get one. Just finding the NES top loaders is a rare find in the wild these days too.
I'm really curious to see how the arcade / tablet project will go. Great video once again sir. = )
@OldSchoolNYCGamer Thanks Sid :) The Tablet is going good. I did have a hell of a time with the drivers (grrr...HP lol) but finally got them working and can rotate the screen to portrait/landscape.
@thomas3120 no dude you look online and click the windows XP tablet version even though you're running XP home its the same version usually unless they've used XP pro but in most cases it's XP home with added drivers so when on hp's site download the latest drivers for the tablet version they'll work on XP home.
Wow! And I used to think I was good at scoring bargain retro pickups! lol It looks like everything is in really good condition too. Nice way to kick off the new year!
The original Xbox is built like a tank and rarely fails. They make perfect media and emulation centres. I recommend getting a set of component cables for it so it'll do 720p, softmodding it and installing XBMC, clearing the jewel and doing the remote on/off mod. Great project consoles XD. Let me know if you need any pointers :)
Thanks for the mention. Using a tablet like this with mame and using this inside an self build arcade cab is the best and most versatile solution. Looking forward to your experiences with this.
@thomas3120 also you most likely clicked the drivers for XP home and even though it is XP home it comes with some companies try to make you pay more for a tablet PC version so you'll find your drivers under XP tablet version including the input drivers even though you installed XP home.
That's some bullshit. I am crazy jealous. I have 3 GWs in my local area and I'm lucky to walk away from them with a couple of N64 carts and a NES Zapper lol. The gaming gods must smile upon you. Great pickups!
@EverlastingSponger Thanks man, we have several GWs in my area but they all send electronic stuff, PCs, computers, Video games & systems to one specific GW. So makes it a bit easier than to drive all around looking for stuff. Unfortunately every year I see more and more people looking for gaming stuff (not sure to keep or resell..)
@thomas3120 ya well some companies have it on their site and some leave the drivers on the company who made the hardware in this case touch screen and when support is lost for the hardware you can't usually find it. It's darn impossible.
Nice pickups! I'd love to get a semi-old tablet on the cheap to play around with.
I'd rather go with other mods for the XBox, like making a slim unit with slot-load drive, and/or ripping games to a larger harddisk to avoid more scratches on the discs. As a media center, the functionality it could provide is rather dated, it can't do HD unless the video is pretty much specifically encoded for XBox, and can't do streaming services directly (like Netflix and Hulu).
Where is this Goodwill you go to? Those are awesome finds! I can't believe how consistently you're finding these high caliber retro games and consoles.
I wish I made a haul like that once in a while. My goodwill sucks so I go to alot of flea markets for stuff.Well take care my friend and have a great weekend
