There's one show that I hope exists: the last of the orange set, which was the last before the Password all stars format. I'm sure on that show Allen announced starting Monday, Password all stars begins.
speaking of finding pictures, richard dawson made an appearance in a tribute to mark goodson at the 2009 GSN awards last month or so. could you find a picture of him? im dying to see how he looks these days.
That theme sounds quite good. It's gives a simple academic style word game a little more hipness to it but doesn't go over the top with extreme rock or disco that was dominating the decade of the 1970's. Being on ABC also helped it fit in to; with a "beaty" theme and trademark orange sets. It was also about time to move Password to the seventies with a theme like this. It's good theme; fits in with a format and set like that. I give it 5 stars since it fits the qualifications.
As I recall, "Password" was unique among celebrities. The producers were able to get stars to do "Password", who wouldn't do any other game show. Recall, if you will, when Lucille Ball did the show and then "Password Plus". Or when Mary Tyler Moore appeared. The net promoed that for a week in advance.
This was the most greatest version of the 1971 theme of Password!

It's Nanette Fabray! On her last name, it's spelled F-A-B-R-A-Y, not F-A-D-R-A-Y.
CraigFoye80 3 years ago
@CraigFoye80 It's spelled correctly, the B just looks a little faded, that's all.

Shouldn't that be Nanette F-A-B-R-A-Y B instead of a D? On the ticket
ACuriousDanceretc 3 years ago
I think it is. It's just kinda faded.

The music doesn't sound like theme music. It sounds like contestant plug music or prize cue music. But I like it.

The best part of that was Vicki Lawrence's huge red afro at 0:42! Hilarious!

This theme song sounds like something you would hear in an Nintendo game.

So much synth!
secondchance1977 3 years ago
amazing how when TPiR, Password, and Match Game all returned in the early '70s, all three shows had synth in their theme songs one form or another.

No, there were two different runs. 1961 to 1967 on CBS, and 1971 to 1975 on ABC.

It's an overhanging or extremely steep mass of rock, according to the American Heritage Dictionary.

Elizabeth Montgomery and Paul Lynde

And unless I miss my guess, this was the only time Paul Lynde appeared on a Goodson-Todman game show.

Actually, he also appeared on the syndicated version of I've Got a Secret"

She did indeed along with Robert Foxworth.

So you're saying that certain celebrities appeared only on Password, and nothing else game show-related?
Hondo20132 2 years ago
Exactly. Elizabeth Montgomery was also one of those -- I can't recall her on any other game show either.
