Sonic colors was REALLY good when it comes to gameplay, but it re uses boss fights.

My biggest question is this: What about a story line? I'm one of those suckers who really want a story line for their games, although it does seem like lately any time Sonic /gets/ a story line it.... well, delivers well bellow sub-par.

At the same time it's the thing that turned me into a gamer when platform games went from being just platforms and delved a little more into stories, rewarding completing segments with another snippet of the story.

All in all, the double edged sword. =x

Yes, it came out with the most emo character of the series but it was still interesting to see what they did. Doesn't have to be much of a story. I think I just got a boner when he said "speed as a reward". That was the philosophy that's been missing in modern sonic games. Speed in modern sonic games is just another mechanic like jump, where it's supposed to be a reward for careful and masterful platforming, and this reward is where the exhilaration comes from. I personally think that if there are ever knuckles stages in anymore sonic games, that is what they should be like. Except without that annoying fight music that plays whenever you see an enemy. I have to admit, I was pretty disappointed with Sonic Colors, and I'm glad that they lowered the price to 40 bucks, which is what it's worth for the 7 hours of terrible voice acting, uninteresting story, and fairly good gameplay. I do enjoy Sonic and Sega all stars racing, and Sonic 4 is totally good for what it's worth.

I enjoy story also (I'm incredibly excited for L.A. Noire! :-D), though, in my opinion, story shouldn't be looked at critically in a Sonic game if the gameplay is better than its predecessors.
