  • this could/should have been the whole movie

  • Frank langalla perfect skeletor. Sauron would beat the crap outta hom though gotta say. And the secret ending to this film was cool too :)

  • wow... that mullet...

  • darth vador is pussy compared to ole' boy

  • kneeeeeeeel......kneeeeeeeel. classic shit!!!!!

  • Skeletor's speech is off the fucking scale awesome villainy. Just an EPIC speech. Watching this I can only imagine how good Palpatine becoming The Emperor in ROTS could've been. Damn you Lucas!!!!!!!!!!! This is the kind of speech Palpatine should've delivered. I was totally stoned watching ROTS but I could tell even then it wasn't working. DAMN YOU LUCASSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Frank Langella was the only good part of this movie.

  • are those TIE pilots ?

  • the moment he says as you die so shall i be reborn was the most epic line ever spoken

  • This is an example of Hollywood getting Everything wrong. The movie had the right villain the right hero and supporting characters. Hollywood condescending to the public and shoe horned the whole earth storyline into it and fucked it up. If they had just made an ETERNIA movie with battle scenes and everything else this would be an all time classic..... Hollywood sucks...

  • @Rodney21a While I agree that it sucks, the decision to make the movie set in modern day earth was one of cost.

  • @Rodney21a rodney sadly, and begrundeouly, like a child being forced to eat vegtables before they are allowed dessert, I must agree with you. I love this film, but even as a ltitle kid I wanted a movie soley on eternia filled with magic, muscles, beautiful women, and power.

  • Atleast he man and others looks less gay xD

  • One of the best villain monologues in film from 4:27.

Regardless of whether you like the film or not, Frank Langella has made this a film you covet secretly to proudly recommending it to friends!

  • Thanks for these videos, Skeletor was definately the perfect villian. what an actor amazing theatrics

  • i still watch this movie damn good for its time

  • I love Skeletors speech to the people of Eternia and the moment when the eye opens and Skeletor becomes the Master of the Universe.

The movie should have ended shortly after that moment.

  • Madness? This. is. SPARTAAAAAAAAAAA

  • I dont remember HEMAN having a mullet?

  • @Just1Spark Let's be real Dolf Lundgren sportin a mullet was more dignified than him having a bob lol.

  • @ 1:15 Damn,for a skeleton,he sure has a huge package.

  • My favourite part of the whole Film is the first destiny speech.

    basically it goes like this..

    (Skel) ...I Want this!

    (Sor) ...FU Skeletor

    Skel) ...FU you back Sorceress.

  • Langella's Skeletor is easily on the short list of greaest villains of all time, up there with Ledger's Joker and MacDermit's Palpatine. He WITHOUT DOUBT saved the Masters of the Universe franchise, turning it from a corny cartoon with a short run that most of us would have felt embarrassed to admit we watched as kids, into one of the true Science Fantasy classics.

  • @actutus i....don't know anyone who would say they were embaressed to watch he-man as a kid. certainly not me. i mean if YOU didn't like it, fine, but speak for yourself. some of us liked it. ALOT.

  • @LamonicBomb I apologize for giving offense. Embarrassed is not the right word -- forgive me. I stand by the rest of what I said. Langella's portrayal of Skeletor is simply superb.

  • @actutus no i wasnt offended, just found it odd that you would say that lol. i do agree this actor's version of skeletor was PERFECT!

  • No villain is better than souron except morgoth

  • wait how did it end?

  • Comment removed

  • great sf, i have it on hvs XD

  • I wonder what Dolph thought when he realized he'd be playing the last 10 minutes of the movie with practically no clothes on?

  • I'm studying Richard III right now. It is quite obvious that this Skeletor is completely modeled after him. "I demand of destitution, shame, and loneliness of scorn! It is my destiny! It is my right! Nothing will deter me from it!" Shakespeare would have been proud.

  • @talkinghead80 Interesting comparison. I think if they an actor of lesser calibar this wouldnt be even thought of.

  • 2:11 Madness? THIS IS-

  • @Wikkiter

    GREY SKULL

  • What kind of name is He-Man anyway?

  • I loved this movie as a kid. Watching it as an adult the flaws are obvious. However Frank Langella's performance was epic. Theatrical and over the top and perfectly appropriate for this character.

  • I Just realize Teela is Bruce Willis' wife in The Last Boy scout.

  • @4:48 Skeletor actually loses his mind. Absolutely fantastic!

  • @vseegobi Never had a mind lol.

  • hes all sex he man!

  • I love the Darth Sidious moment he has toward the end: "The universe is POWAH! Unstoppable POWAH!" lol. Skeletor's character in this movie definitely made it worthwhile, and also those hundreds of troopers that suddenly make an appearance in the story.

  • 1:41 "I win."

Skeletor just doesn't give a fuck about humility lol

  • Best scene is this moment between Skeletor and the Sorceress.

Sorceress: "Men who crave power look back on the mistakes of their lives, pile them all together, and call it destiny."

Skeletor: (chuckles) "Thank you for that bit of philosophy, Sorceress. Here is my response."

(Blade presents the Sword of Greyskull to Skeletor)

  • When I was a kid, this made me root for the bad guy. Skeletor was the true star of the movie. (despite what the cartoon said lol)

  • I realized just now, Dolf Lundgren played the role of HE MAN; how versatile of him. He was also the one who played Ivan Drago in Rocky IV. One movie portays him as hero; the other one portrays him a villain. Balance roles, I say!! Good luck, pal!! B-)

  • @jouyenmae I don't think he's very versatile at all, he plays a strong man in every film he's in, plus, he can't act very well, especially in this movie.

  • @jouyenmae Fairly late reply: Good luck? The guy's retired by now. Unless you mean "good luck" in non-carreer matters.

  • Madness?? I demand the destitution, shame and loneliness. It is my destiny, it is my right...nothing will deter me from it!

  • This 2 part series is better than the actual movie : )

  • All that was missing was a redeeming quality and he would have been perfect.

  • Hollywood, this is how you craft a believable villain. Intelligent, evil but yet having character flaws that are realistic. Skeletor's was his obsession with defeating He-Man, seeing him broken and kneeling before him.

  • I didn't know Dick Cheney had a live action biography. Or that he starred in it.

  • @Sephlock Hey, don't insult Skeletor by comparing him to Cheney.

  • 1:43..... "I Win". simple yet CLASSIC!!!!!

  • @999999999Rafik Yes he did...for the moment.

  • god damn skeletor is so awesome lol its no he-man movie its a SKELETOR movie lol

  • Remember seeing this in the theater with my dad. People laughed when Skeletor said "Enough" when they were whipping He-Man.

  • Skeletor" I am invincible, as long as the plot doesn't catch up to me! Logically speaking there is no way for anyone to stop me."

  • Skeletor: Not the way to treat your beloved ruler

    Me: Screw you :D

  • 5:50 and on totally sick!!!!!!!!

  • Skeletor was a BAD-MUTHER...(shut ya mouth) in this movie!

  • Frank easily wipes the floor with all the other actors in this movie.

  • great performance..very theatrical..all the great theatre actors are always the best...Hopkins, Olivier...Langellas performance here

  • Also.. what's the techno score at the end of this vid?

  • THIS is the true Skeletor. Dark, menacing, diabolical, cunning, sadistic, and poetic. Not like the campness of the original animated Skeletor. A pure personification of the lust for power and control.

  • 4:26 - 5:10 EPIC!!!! :)

  • frank langella made this movie fuckin awesome i dont give a shit what anyone says villains like that dont exist in movies nowadays

  • i'm alpha and the omega.......

  • 7:30 - Pimp my Skeletor!

  • Whose "kneel" is better? Skeletor's or Zod's?

"And you call yourself a MAN at Arms?" ; )

  • I LOVE SKELETOR XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX FAB

  • reminds me of Star Wars

  • This is the most Satanically symbolic movie I have EVER seen...

  • 0:44 - perhaps the most amazing line of this entire film.

  • @outsidehimself Don't forget "I am not in the giving vein, this day!"

  • one of the great sci-fi villians ever

  • the only character that prevented this moving from going straight to the trashbin was Skelletor.

  • Strong Galactus helmet look alike at the end!!! With the exception of being gold...lol!!!

  • What are you waiting for bitch start nealing? LOL

  • Very very underrated movie. Facts is this was made 80s and even Steven Spielberg or George Lucas cannot make better Masters of the universe movies in 80s. Maybe now because CGI has take over and effects of movies are much more advanced than 1987 when this was made. This movie is not greatest ever but this is mediocre action and its worth watch even once because Frank Langellas performance as Skeletor.

  • @Hordak84 over-rated u dick head mofo weak cunt.

  • @SonyaOOOlights no... I think Hordak meant under-rated. lol

  • And this wouldn't be the last time Frank Langella had a go at achieving ultimate power -- see him in The Ninth Gate.

    I couldn't help but remember Skeletor when I did. : )

  • Hmmmm this seems to imply he's actually rather sad and lonely

Heavy lies the head that wears a crown

  • skeletor is cool

  • Dolph Lundgren is the man! THE HE-MAN!

  • langella would have made a good red skull. this make up would make good red skull for new cap a merica movie.

  • the best 'superhero' movies are the ones with a outstanding villian

  • all that power and all he could muster was a brush back on He-Man. lol

  • my homie has a bong named skeletor its a big skulll bong huge, and i love this movie grew up with it. I!! HAVE!!! THE!!! POWER!!!!!!!

  • Skeletor in this movie isn't just awesome...he is a "GOD!!!" *covers my eyes from the blinding golden burst of light*

  • Doohde it was over TWENTY years ago!!! And even still I think his facial skull appliances (makeup) look hot!! I think the did good! Now planet of the apes (1968) suc compared to today! U must b Gen Y to not appreciate it

  • skeletor looks so shitty

  • "Let them rot. heh heh heh Let them rot."

    Langella is badass.

  • frank owned this movie, hands down

  • skeletor = Micael jackson

  • Skullman is clearly gay for Blonde Man. But he doesn't know how to win his affection.

"Come and be my slave or I'll kill all your friends". How romantic. :-/

  • EPIC!

  • A great performance from a great actor, Frank Langella IS Skeletor!

  • Epic speech.

  • beast man could never stop he man

  • Skeletor was the only good actor in the movie!

  • @Captaintrolltard ,,,,,,,,,,,yup :)

  • @Captaintrolltard agreed

  • @Captaintrolltard I dunno...I kinda liked Evil-Lyn too

  • @Captaintrolltard Evil-lynn ROCKED!!!

  • or i shall reek unforgettable harm upon you.

  • When I was a little kid, it made me so angry when Skeletor lifted up the Sword of Greyskull and said it was his. I wanted to yet "Put it down, you bastard"

  • @TheWorstWarlock And I was the one who celebrated with him.

  • 7:28- You wouldn't believe how long I had to grind on World of Warcraft to get this outfit.

  • this movie is the reason i became an actor-all time favourite movie

  • He Man was so cool

This inspired me to make movies with Shadowyn Films

and put them on You Tube

    movies by Shadowyn films

    title: Soul Searching

This show gave me idea for so many monsters to be used in these movies. You may even see some of them in them.

    Enjoy

  • SKELETOR UP IN THIS MOTHERFUCKER!

  • From 5:33 on, OMG, raise the roof Skeletor is off the chain, he is both serious and hilarious!!!

  • Comment removed

  • 'Kneeeeeeelllllll!!!"

  • Skeletor was obviously the best part of this movie. The rest of it was quite bland indeed.

  • Dude, he had the best dialogue and he delivered it with BUCKETS full of EPIC!!!!!

  • madness?...THIS IS ETERNIA!

  • Skeletor = AWESOME!!!!

  • He-man is gay, his rag-tag bunch of misfits doesn't pull it off either. But Skeletor here is played rather good, and gives at least some credit to the movie.

  • Langella's Skeletor was the best character, hand's down. But I think Man-at-Arms did a fairly decent job portraying a grizzled war veteran, and his daughter Teela wasn't exactly bad looking.....

  • imagine what cpould be done to his makeup nowdays

  • did skeletor died?

  • No, after the credits role, it shows that he survived his fall.

  • 2:13 Madness? This is ETERNIA!!

  • this skeletor was way cooler than the lame ass cartoon guy

  • saw this in the cinema as a kid & loved it! langellas version of skeletor was unbelievably good. his voice and delivery of lines is INCREDIBLE!

1:59-2:09 "all the powers of the universe will be invested in me...ME! and you will cease to exist" EPIC!

I'm in my late 20s now but i'll never forget 6:47 "KNEEL BEFORE YOUR MASTER!" nothing special about the words but langella just nails it. to this day its one of the greatest movie lines i've ever heard! thnx 4 posting

  • "Throw down your weapons or you DIE"

    "Good Journey"

  • i was waiting for heman to say... "If he dies... he dies."

  • Its funny beacuse I was waiting for him to say to Skeletor

    "I must break you"

    "Primative and tasteless planet"

    How acurate

  • Hope they bring this out on blu ray soon

  • Super Saiyan Skeletor lol.

  • Man I think I watched this movie about a thousand times as a kid!! Love it!

  • MOTF has proven that over time it has outshined star wars, well done!!!!

  • Surely you must be kidding. If it was your intention to get attention by saying that comment then job well done.

But for a moment presuming you're serious in what you said, then I'd like for you to tell me what you based your extensive research over to give you that unrealistic conclusion.

  • George PUCAS has fucked up star wars HARD,the originals were awesome,no doubt,BUT PUCAS tampered with them & made those all so terrible presequals,MOTU has outshined star wars since PUVAS fucked it all up!!!!

  • I've never understood why so many people are highly critical of the new Star Wars films. I think explaining the origin of Darth Vader was brilliant. Everyone has their own reasons I guess for disliking it. Most reasons I've heard/read are silly to me.

Either way, you can't possibly compare a piece of shit film like this to the legend of Star Wars on any level. This movie on NO LEVEL did anything to outshine the past movies or more recent ones. Be realistic.

  • Original star wars,YES,kicked arse, the preseuals are fucking dreadfulthe over the top special effects did not make up for the horrid acting & made the originals look dumb, presequals,LOLOL

  • In regards to the special effects, Lucas kept up with the times in what he could do in film. If he could have applied this technology to the original thrilogy that he did with the newer thrilogy back then, he would have done it and you wouldn't know what sucked from what doesn't.

As for the acting, I've never regarded Star Wars, original trilogy or not for having top tier acting display per se. They're just films of above average acting displays.

  • That still doesn't change the fact that the presequals are total rubbish, all PUCAS had to do was transfer the original trilogy to dvd & thats that,uh NOOOOOOOO he had to fuck it all up!!!

  • If you don't like the prequals that's your business. I don't really care. But to think this cheesy movie outshined them is unrealistic. You want to talk about horrible acting, this movie personifies that in spades.

Fact is separately as well as combined all the Star Wars prequals made ten times more money than MOTU could ever imagine. A lot of people don't even know this movie was fucking made. Everyone knows the prequals for Star Wars was made though. So MOTU outshined nothing.

  • Oh & the star wars presequals acting is better than this,LOL,since when? When the star wars pesequals came out NO 1 I knew said they where any good, they where laughed at hard at how pathetic they're!

  • What's your point? When the MOTU movie came out it didn't exactly get high positive ratings that went through the roof either. None of the critics liked it really.

Even Dolph Lundgren said this movie sucked and he had the lead role in the movie. I think much like others you saw the new Star Wars movies with an unrealistic expectation of it. Lucas was never going to satisfy everyone when making these films. People bitched about the incessant love angle in it and how extensive the story was.

  • Yes MOTF got bentched quick & who cares what Dolph says, most of his movies are write offs anyways! This movie is alright & is definetly better than al the star wars presequals put together!!!

  • Dude, you're a fucking idiot. Dolph Lundgren is a legend in the action movie genre. Ivan Drago is the second most memorable character in the Rocky movies. Anyway, since he was in the movie and had the lead role what he says about the movie means a lot.

You can live in your fantasy world all you want and prefer this steaming pile of monkey shit of a film that was made on a budget of probably one thousand bucks, but sales and impact on pop culture it will NEVER be in the new Star Wars league.

  • NO your the fucking idiot,Dolph is a lemon actor & just because a movie has alot of money spent on it doesn't mean its a decent movie dipshit!

  • Yeah right, he's such a lemon fucking actor. But the mere fact he was advertised for being in this movie was one of few big selling points that made people want to see it. Movies like The Punisher, Rocky IV, Universal Soldier and Showdown in Little Tokyo grossed more money and popularity than this fucking film could ever imagine.

And I NEVER said because a movie had a ton of money spent on it, it obviously made it better. But the money spent for making this movie was ill spent.

  • Oh whats that,4 movies profit compaored to this,LOL,well of course it would gross more dickhead,LOL.Oh & the star wars presequals did a good job linking the original star wars,WOW,I never heard that 1 B4!!!!!

  • You should try reading what I say closer, because when you reply you just make yourself look like an idiot that is eager to speak that has nothing of value to say. I didn't say all four films combined made more money than MOTU the movie. I meant and said pretty clearly that separately compared each one to it grossed more money than it did.

Dude, face it you're fighting a losing battle here. You and dumbass dowling1981 are the only fucks in the comments post that likes this movie.

  • You want to like this movie, that's fine. I sure as hell have my batch of films I like that no one else does. Just don't have an unrealistic viewpoint of this films importance and "power" combined to movies that are legendary (whether you like them or not). This movie did nothing in the theater to prove it had value and was worth remembering, aside from Langella's portryal of Skeletor.

You can talk it up all you want, but it didn't deliver on its end for itself to most people that saw it.

  • Maybe if they had spent the budget more wisely sticking to a more authentic approach to the movie every knew and loved from the comics and cartoon the movie might have been worth a damn.

  • VIVA LA SKELETOR!

  • MOTU was a completely cheestastic movie, but the guy playing skeletor did a amazing job. He elevated this movie from utter 80s fluff to something halfway watchable.

  • Skeletor was awesome but he seemed a bit long-winded while accepting the powers of the universe. lol Even the Sorceress, Evil-Lynn, and Karg seemed annoyed by his babble from 6:32 - 6:45.

  • bad movie, great villain

  • I can't say much that hasn't already been said about this movie. I always loved the cartoon but hated the live action movie for it. Frank Langella's take in portrayl of Skeletor was awesome, and proved one time that you could truly polish a turd of a movie and make it shine bright at moments.

  • Do you not think the movie was good?

  • I already answered that question. Read the second line of the comment I posted that you replied to.

  • Ok smartarse. Why didn't you like it then? I thought it was brilliant at the time.

  • LmAO, you thought this movie was brilliant? You don't get out much do you? There was NOTHING brilliant about this movie. Reasons are as follows. #1. No Battle Cat. #2. The movie didn't take place on Eternia the majority of the time. #3. No Prince Adam (that's like making a Superman movie with no Clark Kent.). #4. Lack of characters from the cartoon/comic in the movie.

Those reasons right there made it suck. It was a cheesy wannabe futuristic flick more than anything.

  • By the way, I was not being a smartass. You asked if I thought the movie was good and I had already said in a previous post that I didn't. Now if you wanted to ask me something differently your lack of ability to convey your thoughts on the keyboard is not my fault.

  • I didn't call you a 'smartass', I called you a 'smartarse'. Perhaps you should others' comments more closely yourself. Now to the main issue; Do you not think that this movie was good for its time?

  • Spare me the semantics lesson. Smartass and Smartarse are the same word. Okay, you wanted to be an Aussie and be clever and use a different spelling for the word. I'm real impressed. I responded applicably to what you said.

Anyway, for the 100th time for the cheap seats I HATED THE MOVIE. I HATED IT THEN AND I HATE IT TODAY. IT WASN'T BRILLIANT AND WAS NOT EVEN GOOD FOR A 1980'S CHEAP SCI-FI MOVIE.

What part of that statement is hard to understand? I gave reasons why it was bad.

  • 'Smartarse' is actually British. Anyway, saying you 'hated the movie' in capital letters does not constitute a specific reason, it is just a general statement. For example, do you not think that the soundtrack in the movie was quite atmospheric and powerful?

  • The origin of the word is irrelevant, the fact Smartarse means the same thing as Smartass because they're the same word is what is important. And I already told your dumbass several reasons why I hated the movie. The fact you can't read and keep up and comprehend what I'm saying is not my fault.

And yes, the music had atmosphere. Then again two week old trash in the kitchen does too.
