My ship pulled into Edinborough, Scotland back in '76. We had the honor of attending a concert of the Royal Edinborough Pipers. You can't imagine the thrill!!! The last was "God Save the Queen". I was the senior man there, and we were all in uniform. You should have seen the look on the peoples faces when I ordered "Atention and Hand Salute". After that, we went to a restaurant, and I had my first taste of Haggis. DELICIOUS!!! Funny, the owner would not take our money. Great people!! =Stefan=
Those of us who do not know if the pipes are out of tune, or out of sync, simply love to view vids like this one - So, from a half Scot, thank you for sharing.
i am sorry but as a scots soldier that has marched behined the pipes on many many parades and occasions the tones and some were out of tune also the celtic past is only to the scots as is the pipes the irish and welsh never wear kilts in peace or did they in war as the scots did if they had played the drums it might of been better
@halkburn « the celtic past is only to the scots as is the pipes». only to the scots? The celtic past is to every celtic people. Pipes doesn't mean "great highland bagpipes", it means pipes, like Uilleann pipes, smallpipes northumbrian pipes, any kind of pipes. There are different kind of pipes all over the world, not originary from scotland. But still, the kilts are yours...
with regards to the description, "travel to the celtic lands of Scotland, Ireland and Wales.. " what about the celts left in cornwall, devon and kent? ohh yes use celts were pushed south as well as north and west
A marvellous video, my congratulations for Scotsman152 and my gratitude for my friend Forconi86 for me having sent it. A greeting from Galicia (Spain)!.
I'm irish myself and play the pipes, and while I admit there definitely are songs whose sound is not suited to be made on the pipes, this is not one of them. Perhaps you need to clog out all of that ignorance in your ear.
you must be kidding! it sounds beautiful! you should listen to others claiming as "pipers", my cat when fighting sounds better, but this is really great!

Fantastic, the sound of the pipes usually brings a warm feeling to the heart and a tear to the eyes of any Celt.
The Welsh Bagpipes and Pibgorn died out a few hundred years ago, but fortunately are now being revived. As is the Welsh " Cilt"
Cery Matthews from Catatonia plays them also the band " Fernhill "

"Revolting" is the last thing that would come to mind for an ear, be it seasoned or not. The sound was beautiful, just sit back and enjoy it already.
