  • hey mate just finnished makeing this plane took me like 4 hours i was just wondering the cg and what battery you are useing and you estermet of the weight make the was a bit diffcult as i was try to get the mesurments by useing the 12inch wing as a idea of what every thing else meausured out can you just give me some tips of makeing it fly nice and some more measurments of:

from the front of the wing to the nose and the back of the wing to the back of the tail width of plane

    please reply ASAP

  • @callmemistert1 I put the CG at 1/3 the wing chord, so at 4 inches back from the leading edge of the wing. I used a 5000 mah battery, as I like long flights! If you look back at previous posts on this video, I give all of those measurements and more. there should be plenty of information to build this plane. Good luck!

  • @schraut5 thanks alot

  • @schraut5 i ended up getting a 2200mah 3sell 25c and a 1500kv motor and a 25 amp esc

there coming in the mail the over all flying weight is 1879grams do u think it will work out

  • @callmemistert1 What motor are you using? As long as the motor has enough power it should be fine

  • Thank´s for the feedback.

I will upload a video of the construction, my goal is to put some three weel like a trainer to get from the ground... waiting to have some time to get elapor material for construction all elektronic is already at home :).... tell me wath do you think about a 10X7 prop is it to big?

  • @7h3unkn0wn That prop size should be great on this plane. Due to the location of the motor and prop, a larger prop should be better because it has more surface area outside of directly behind the fuselage.

  • Thank´s Schraut

  • @7h3unkn0wn No problem!

  • I´m going to contruct one also lol... lets see how it crashes with a 10`x7´´ prop and a gt motor ...Should i make the plane larger for a thrust of about 1.3 kg given by the motor. Now tell me is that pane stable?

  • @7h3unkn0wn That motor should be perfect with this plane. This plane is very stable, it has 600 square inches of wing area which is great for carrying weight, while still being maneuverable with a strong motor. Let me know how it goes!

  • where you buy this aircraft

  • @levyjansen Home-made! You can build it too - way cheaper than buying planes

  • @schraut5 I know I've been looking for parts as a servo costs 17 euros and then you must also buy other shit I buy a ready-made;)

  • @levyjansen Go to hobbyking(dot)com. They sell servos for $2.50 each that are quite good! They also sell cheap motors and esc's.

  • Badass plane man.

  • @KnightJasonThe Thanks! This plane is great

  • hey im making a micro drone v4 for rctestflight

changed somethings but still haven't made final adjustments want to make plan don' know how or who to go to

    help?

  • @RcTranMD Great! I built his V3 and had some problems with it. With that wing size, I thought that the ailerons were too big. Other than that, it was pretty great. Perhaps add some style to the fuselage

  • what is the distance from the front of the plane to the wing?

from the back of the wing to the end of the tail

    Thanks

  • @theTiTs100 The fuselage has a total length of 23 1/2 inches, and it is 6 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches wide. 10 1/2 inches of the fuselage is under the wing. From the back of the wing to the tail is 14 1/2 inches. Thanks for watching!

  • hey, what thickness is the foam for the wing without the Kfm part? I would like to know what to buy for this as I have already tried with 6mm epp and found it to be too flimsy.

  • @lpbug I was using foamboard that was about 6mm. EPP is very flimsy. I would try 6mm, or even better 9mm, depron

  • hi..if you used mikeys plan and went from there, did you use the cg marked on his plans or did that change ?

  • @michchristy I put the CG at 1/3 of the wing chord. Here the chord is 12 inches, so I have the CG at 4 inches back from the leading edge of the wing. Thanks for watching!

  • I'm going to attempt to build this with the club im leading at my high school right now. Just wondering if you can give us some tips and pointers about building this plane. What would be the best foam to build this, and what is the dimensions for your kfm airfoil?

  • @lpbug Cool! I really love this plane. So, the twin tail booms and horizontal stabilizer (just the whole back half of the plane) is exactly from MikeysRC FPV plane (all that I did is make the tails have sharp corners, rather than curved - just personal style preference). The wing is 50" x 12" with 1/2 inch pink foam from Home Depot that is 50" x 6". All of the white foam is from Staples - and it makes this plane a bit heavy. You could save some on weight using depron or dollar tree foamboard

  • @schraut5 Just make the fuselage longer, rather than shorter, helps to be able to get the center of gravity correct. Which should be at 4"back from the leading edge of the wing. Good luck! Let me know if you have any more questions. I'd love to help you out!

  • @schraut5 Alright, what about the fuselage? Because on Mikey's plan it's just a piece of foam. I would like to be able to build a solid fuse just like yours. How should I go about building it?

  • @lpbug That's kind of tough to explain, but its easy to build. It has a total length of 23 1/2 inches, and it is 6 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches wide. 10 1/2 inches of the fuselage are under the wing and the motor is attached directly to the back of the fuselage with a motor mount. I made hatches like MikeysRC with just some tape, very simple. The design of the front of the fuselage is just for looks, it has no practical application. What else can I help with?

  • @schraut5 mm, well if you don't have too much on your hands maybe a build video would help us, but I think that's asking for a lot. I totally understand if you are busy. Thanks for the explanation, I'll keep you updated on the status of the build.

  • Very nice , do you have plans we can look at !

  • @tlfettled I wish that I did! I used the twin booms from MikeysRC FPV plane, just made them with sharp angles. Same wing as that plane too, just extended to 50 inches. The fuselage was made up as I built the plane. Love this plane! Still my most stable aerial video platform. Thanks for watching!

  • i like your vertical hor

  • @RcLento Thanks!

  • Flight vid Please . . . . looks nice should do well with the KFM

  • @XRGazza I have had this plane for a few months and it flies great! Check out some of my other videos for video footage taken onboard this plane with my GoPro. I will make a video soon of this plane flying. Thanks for watching!

  • Nice plane :)

How long do you get in the air with the 5000mah? and how well would you say it glides, thanks

  • @malw1234 I can fly for about 25 minutes with a 5000mah battery. Also depends on how I am flying it, I can easily fly for over 30 minutes if it is slower flying with lots of gliding.

It glides very nicely. This plane is a bit heavy, because its made with standard foamboard. But, I just made a version out of 6mm depron that I can hardly land because it glides for so long!

  • Nice Build schraut5

  • @JollySwagman2006 Thanks! This really is a great plane. It is very powerful yet has the ability to glide. I have built several planes since this one, but it's still my favorite.
