I know there is a huge fight going on on this video. I am just going to say I don't like the title of this video because it just makes riders look bad. Equestrian is hard. It is logic, beauty, power, and communication between horse and rider. Trust me I ride. I was looking at biathlon though and it looks pretty hard. It looks like it would take years to master because you have to ski, shoot and have the guts to just shoot some guy. So maybe riders should look at biathlon videos and people who d

@BrownChickenandCow1, (what kind of a username is that, anyways) we do respect other sports. My moms friend is in the Ironman every year. I have lots of football, cheer leading, dance, or swimming friends! I totally believe that other sports are hard! But we have no words to communicate how to do stuff! We are also the ONLY Olympic sport to allow men and women to compete against each other. I'm sure biatholons are tough, but don't generalize us into snobs. Some are, yes, but some aren't. You're

How many times are you going to comment talking about biathalon blah blah blah. Yes, there are other sports that don't get respect as well, but us riders really don't get respect from athletes of more well-known sports either. (Football, basketball, etc) I agree that the title may seem disrepectful to other sports, but it's ridiculous for you to generalize all riders as snobby and disrespectful because of one video. I respect any kind of athlete,
(cont) because I know how much hard work and dedication goes into any kind of sport. Personally, I don't agree with the title of her video, but I am a rider, so apparently I disrepect other sports, and am a snob by default? Also, your comment about so many other sports being harder mentally and physically than riding? That may be so, but I haven't tried every sport known to man so I can't tell you that, but what do you really know about my sport?
Who are you to comment on a video for RIDERS, about RIDERS, and tell us we have no right to complain? You aren't a rider so I don't see how you could have formed such a solid opinion of all riders. Maybe ou should spend time with some, and learn something about our sport before you tell us we have no basis for an srguement about respect. because we get so much respect from other athletes that they are making videos about us. Again, all riders, in fact most riders, do not think that other sports are all easy. I know I don't. But you are the one commenting on a video telling us our sport isn't physically demanding (what the actual fuck?) and generalizing us as a whole. So please take your bullshit somewhere else, because you obviously know nothing about this sport or the athletes doing it
I don't like it when people say equestrian isn't a sport cause IT IS thankyou very much, but it doesn't mean that other sports aren't good, i like other sports, i agree with the fact that equesrtrian isn't just sitting on horse IT IS NOT and u do risk ur life and everything but other sports are still good.
I really appreciate this. Schools, and the media give other sports enough recognition. Not once did anyone ever praise my riding when I was in high school. It's time people started to recognize equestrians and the efforts we put in.

@BrownChickenandcow1 So is it right for you guys to tell us horseback riding isn't a sport and make fun of us. Yeah that stuff you do for you Younger years. 20s 30s. Horseback riding starts from a very young age. Sometimes before you can walk and can go to the day you die! I know people who are paralyzed from the waist down who ride. Horseback riding has been studied to help kids with mental disabilities get better. From the rocking of the horse. SO SUCK IT!

and to the haters? i would love to see you on something 10 times your size, who has a mind of its own, and who, with one mistep, could kill us. so dont go saying that its not a sport. cause it is.
@TheLightEclipse from the title it doesn't seem like that. And there are also many sports that you risk your life for. If the person wanted people other than equestrians to like this then don't put all other sports down. Get the facts.
@BrownChickenandcow1 ok other sports....kicking a ball running for the goal is painfull in training and stuff but when your sitting controlling a 1-2,000 pound animal that has a mind of his/her own don't cry about a broken bone from getting tackled or running long distances or throwing a ball? We trust our team mate more than other sports have to .Get the facts.

Try cross country skiing for multiple kilometers, nearly as hard as you can, then shooting a rifle at a target smaller than a golf ball from 50 meters away, then getting up and doing the multiple kilometers once again only to come in to shoot at a target less than 3 inches in diameter, again from 50 meters. Then do this all twice, and realize that one target missed equals 200 meter or more penalty loops and can mean the difference between 1st and tenth. Yeah. This sport is called biathlon. yeah
@BrownChickenandcow1 The video didn't say other sports was not training... You don't risk your life doing it, but equestrians do. That's the point of he video :)
@TheLightEclipse From the title of "tell me about your sorry excuse for a sport" it makes it seem like your sport is better than everyone. The title told me to tell you about my "sorry excuse" for a sport and I did. I agree that equestrians might have to risk their lives but so do mountain bikers, freestyle skiers, surfers, and the like. There are so many other sports that are just as dangerous and there are so many other sports that are harder, physically, and mentally.
@BrownChickenandcow1 When u ski CROSS COUNTRY u dont die. When you shoot at a target, you dont die, when you "play" biatlon you dont die. Say your sorry to all the pleopple that HAVE DIED RIDING AND THAT RISK THERE LIVES EVERDAY BECAUSE OF TRUE PASSION!! THAT IS BRAVE AND SOMETHING EVERBODY SHOULD EMULATE. eQUESTRIANS DONT JUST EXIST... THEY LIVE!
@TheArmadillo17 But everyone that rides doesn't DIE from riding. Some people have died riding, but some people have died doing biathlon, and skiing too. Some people have died from horseshoes! So really if people have died from it, it doesn't make it better or anything
Hey bro, why don't you just take your biathalon crap and gtfo. You obviously didn't read my posts or anyone else's replying to you. It's clear that you know nothing about this sport, so you don't really have any valid points to make about it. Quit spewing bullshit.
@BrownChickenandcow1 um... when exactly did she say that equestrianism is the only sport? When did she say that all other sports weren't really sports? WHEN?!?!?!?!?
@3000horsecrazy Look at the title! Tell Me About Your Sorry Excuse For A Sport. If that doesn't suggest that she thinks that this sport is better then other sports, I don't know what does.
@BrownChickenandcow1 Ok. What was the point of your comment? This sport; {Equestrian}; is unlike no other and brings out the true meaning of sport. We didn't say other sports need practice. And why are YOU on OUR videos. Go back to your Biathlon videos or watch these videos and don't complain. Respect us for what we do.
@FriesianGirl0601 When equestrian people call other sports "sorry excuses" it makes it seem like you guys are "high and mighty" and better than everyone else. That makes me not respect you. I respected your sport a lot before and I think it would be dangerous. I don't completely agree with how physically demanding it is, but oh well, NASCAR isn't physical but people like it. Now I don't respect it because the thought that equestrians weren't snobby is now false.
@BrownChickenandcow1 We are not the snobby ones. When we say "Sorry Excuse" doesn't mean we are saying we are "High and mighty" we are just saying that DO NOT get a lot of respect from others. This is a sport people forget about or they think it's a hobby. And just to tell you, it's very physical demanding. Maybe some riders are snobby but you can't say ALL of them are just because of one video. We make this sport get attention because we put it out there. (No meanness)
Hmn this just came up in my recomeded list and tbh although I ride myself I have to say the description is more than a little disrespectful of other sports ANY sport when you progress enough is tough Rugby,Ice Hockey,Cricket and Motorsports all carry a very real risk of fatal accidents dont expect respect from others if you in turn dont show them respect it works both ways you know
@TheLightEclipse right, other sports deserve to be sassed they give us crap all the time cuz they think our horses are cars and have a button that makes them look good and do commands.
People dont know what its like to fall over 4 meters at 35 miles per hour then hop back up,dust yourself off and hop straight back on or to Dance with a creature that speaks an entirely different language or jumping over obstacles that are bigger than you.Think, What is it like to have a teammate that is over 8 times the size of you? Everytime we hop on a horse, we put our lives on the line
Exactly!! Equestrianism isn't a sport in ANY WAY.
Football is a sport, cheerleading is a sport, volleyball is a sport.
Equestrianism is an art. It's a science, it's mounted ballet. it's doing the impossible, communicating with another species. It's dancing with no music, it's singing with no lyrics. It lives outside of the arena, it's a lifestyle. You can master a sport in a year, but no human has ever fully mastered the art of riding. It's never-ending.
@CarsInsider Oh my when I read the first line I was like WTF it IS a sport! Then I continued reading and I was like "O-oh.....HELL YEAH!" hahaha you are so right!
@LetsFlyOnceMore Sorry, ran out of space in the last post XD I'm interested simply because medical science fascinates me, I will become a medical student next year. But I understand if you don't want to share it :)
@LetsFlyOnceMore Point taken. But theoretically she could have that leg amputated and get an artificial limb and still be able to ride...I know that's just me speculating, but it is perfectly possible. And you said that there was only "the risk". Personally, I'd rather be able to ride, even if it meant losing a leg. Many people would think otherwise. I never said there wouldn't be exceptions, I said it "probably won't end your career". Do you mind me asking, what did she actually do to her leg?
@LetsFlyOnceMore I myself have had a bad break to my right leg, and by "bad break" I mean a dislocated ankle and knee, two broken metatarsals and a spiral fracture from ankle to hip. I can still ride perfectly fine-I can do dressage, showjumping, cross country, even stunt riding. But to this day I find it difficult to go any faster than a fast jog without having to do a wierd motion with my leg. So I can't run properly, so although I compete successfully as a rider, I could never be a footballer
@LetsFlyOnceMore No, that's not true. Like I said, it "probably won't end your career". What I meant by that was, that you may have to give up showjumping or cross country, etc. But you can still ride. One of my friends lost a leg and an arm in a car crash but she still competes in dressage and showing. My cousin's ex boyfriend was a semi-pro footballer who got caught in a bad tackle that broke his leg. No professional team will take him on, he can't run properly anymore.
A student of mine could get PE credits from her school for participating an extracurricular sport, and when she approached the gym teacher about her dressage activities, the teacher said it wasn't enough of a physical effort. My student borrowed their fancy heart monitor, and we had a barely 45-minute lesson on her 3rd level Friesian. The PE teacher and principle reviewed the data and realized that the aerobic and anaerobic benefit was more than most of their in-school classes! approved! LOL
LOL, I remember when my school refused 2 call riding a sport & wouldn't count it towards scholarships.Well my barn was having a promo so I invited my gym class&principle along to prove that its a bit more tha "just sitting on a horse and looking good"as my gym teacher called it.Yeah, he fell off the horse from exaustion and the entire class laughed at him.The prinicple couldn't stand up after and had to get help dismounting. They admitted it was a sport (finally) and I got my damn scholarship.
After watching the video and reading some of these comments I have this perspective. I have been riding for 43 years, I've also played and coached basketball and college volleyball. Our sport is one of the only in which, as athletes we rely on another being (horse) to shoulder the brunt of the activity. Does it require a unique combination of training and communication to become a team? Yes. But one common thing that should bind all athletes is mutual respect for each other's sport.
This makes u proud to be a rider. U know kids at school make fun of me because I ride horses. I never her the end of it. Intill one the last day of the school year we had an assembly and they saw a pic of me jumping a 4th fence never said a peep to me again. Isn't life great!!
@horselover1239 so true! People at my school say that horse back riding isn't exercise when it is! You have to use your leg, core, abb, and arm muscles it's alot of work for people and they don't seem to get it through their thick skulls, good for you for doing what you love! I ride alot too Great job on the 4ft fence haha, I just started jumping last year, at like 2.3 or something like that I'm to scared to go higher, and yet I have never galloped before and yet I have been riding for 3 years.
Horse riding is way more then just a sport. Its better then just a sport. I play other sports to but not as much as i ride horses. At times my other sports can be frustrating and difficult but hors riding is different. Horse riding is more then just the physical work. It takes trust in your horse and its a mental game as well. In other sports, you know what your getting yourself into most of the time, but in horse riding every day can be different. I will forever be an equestrian!!<3
I certainly hope that you don't ride full speed toward jumps!!!!! that would end badly... lets say we ride quarter speed(but faster than other poeple can run) toward stationary objects with the possibility of spooking and then bareling full speed through a jump, falling, and either dying or going through an extremely painful experience.
Oh quit arguing. The reason for the vid is to get the point across and to show people who think equestrian is nothing that it could be harder than their own sport. I play soccer and train horses and I honestly will say the horses are much harder. Figuring skating would be the same as horse riding. Same with select other sports. But the point is to show people that think its not that it is extremely difficult.
this is awesome and i agree 100% my friend who also rides horses said this guy told her if horse is an olympic sport then chess should be and that pissed me off real bad cuz they have no idea
This is awesome!!!! nice editing adn to xlosemymindx i agree with how you are coming on about the other different sports. but honestly thats all muscular adn physical to ourselves where as riders, we have 1000lbs of crazyness waiting to kill us at anysecond. i personally think thats more challenging than doing a leap in the air.
I ride horses, and while i agree with this video and that equestrian takes a lot of skill, I also dance and I know that all sports are difficult in different ways. don't belittle other sports just because you think youre superior
have you tried dancing? football? volleyball? basketball?
while I'm a solid rider, i can truly say that for ME, sports like soccer volleyball and football are much harder. don't think youre better than anyone b/ you ride horses.
I freakin LOVE THIS!!!! i hate how ppl say it isnt a sport -_-
any1 can throw or kick a ball, or run around a track, but it takes pure talent and
heart to get on a 1000 pound animal and trust it with your life to take you over jumps, and take on difficult tasks...because thats what a true sport is(:
LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!! the facts are there (hey, riding is the toughest sport I've ever done), the effects are great (I love the colors), and the edits/clips are phenomenal! Great Job!

I'm an equestrian and a soccer player and you think soccer is not a sport????????? Well it is. You have to have a passion for your sport and team, love, and partnership to play soccer and win. you also stole the words from electricstride.
@TheLightEclipse well guess what it takes a lot away from you and you have to work really hard at it just like every other sport in the world I'm in figure skating and would you say the same thing to me? cuz if you would let me tell you it is just as hard as it is to be working with my horse all the time and in it I don't have a teammate to lean on, and I am all alone out there on that ice and if I fail no one else can cover that up, so don't you ever say that any other sport isn't hard. EVER.
Even soccer player do run all the time. Equeastrian is much harder. If it goes wrong, it goes terribly wrong. You can even die in just a split second. And soccer, if you got bad luck you break your leg.
Breaking your leg is nothing compared to the injuries you can get from horses.
@Ipodmoeilijk Yeah, but breaking your leg can end your career. If you are a top show jumper or footballer, and you break your leg, then you may never be able to jump or play ball again. You can die playing virtually any sport (well, darts, snooker, etc is debatable, but essentially you can lol). I have a friend who has massive injuries from her horse landing on top of her. I also have a friend who died because they crashed their car whilst in a race. There are risks to be taken in any sport :)
@Ipodmoeilijk My friend had 14 broken ribs and a broken back, plus two broken legs...she is paralyzed now. What happened to your friend is awful-stories of accidents like that always remind me to teach my riding lesson children not to wrap lead ropes around their fingers. Might I be so bold as to ask, if they are still riding? If so, they are a brave person and fair play to them.
And yeah, I know :) I have 16 horses, 11 stallions, all of them rescues with severe behavioral problems. I've been flipped on three times now,I've lost count of the amount of falls, but I know that at least 11 could have been fatal. I've had plenty of broken bones, including a dislocated ankle and knee and a spiral fracture from ankle to hip in one fall. My friend was crushed by her horse, that's how she got her injuries.
3/4 falls of mine could have been fatal, like falling of but your foot is still in the saddle. Or a horse that tripped and almost fell on top of me (Luckly I got away fast enough)
I didn't break much bones, only one, the last one of my spine.
But I got so many times I got kicked black and blue and injuries.
One time a horse kicked me so bad on my knee, that bone went from his place (ehm... what's that in english, I hope you can understand it)
@EbonyLover4Ever Sorry, I don't mean to jump in on an argument but I'm an equestrian but done many many different sports I do believe that equestrian AND soccer are both indeed a sport. I think equestrian takes more bravery and skill but soccer takes more physical endurance so I think that was what she was trying to get at...
@EbonyLover4Ever soccers a sport but running around a field and kicking a ball 3 times a week is not as hard as getting a horse over a 5ft jump or getting the horse to run as fast as it can around barrels or mimick a cow or back up thru an L shape pole or getting a horse over a bridge. just saying
@xWesternGirlx Well, yeah, but soccer isn't just what you said it was. If you are a rider and you break your leg then it probably won't end your career. I know people with amputated limbs who ride perfectly well.. But if you are a professional footballer and you break your leg in a certain way, then your career is over. I have 16 horses and I do virtually everything from jousting to jumping to dressage with them, and they are all horses with behavioral problems so I know the risks.
@EbonyLover4Ever anything where you work as a team and have passion for it is a sport. i don't dis other sports cause no one ever takes my sport (equstrian) seriously. we all should respect the different sports in our world. and ya some sports have more effort than others but it doesn't make less of a sport. :)
@motinlesshorse03 Sorry, you're right. I was just I don't know that day... mad? I love being an equestrian but I also love being a soccer player and being on swim-team but being an equestrian is my ultimate favorite.
@EbonyLover4Ever you must not be a real equestrain then. real equestrains put their every waking move into horse back riding not kicking a soccer ball around. and soccer is a sport and i use to play it.
Very good video:) loved it

Try cross country skiing for multiple kilometers, nearly as hard as you can, then shooting a rifle at a target smaller than a golf ball from 50 meters away, then getting up and doing the multiple kilometers once again only to come in to shoot at a target less than 3 inches in diameter, again from 50 meters. Then do this all twice, and realize that one target missed equals 200 meter or more penalty loops and can mean the difference between 1st and tenth. Yeah. This sport is called biathlon. yeah
BrownChickenandcow1 3 months ago
@BrownChickenandcow1 The video didn't say other sports was not training... You don't risk your life doing it, but equestrians do. That's the point of he video :)
TheLightEclipse 3 months ago 25
@TheLightEclipse From the title of "tell me about your sorry excuse for a sport" it makes it seem like your sport is better than everyone. The title told me to tell you about my "sorry excuse" for a sport and I did. I agree that equestrians might have to risk their lives but so do mountain bikers, freestyle skiers, surfers, and the like. There are so many other sports that are just as dangerous and there are so many other sports that are harder, physically, and mentally.
BrownChickenandcow1 1 week ago
@BrownChickenandcow1 When u ski CROSS COUNTRY u dont die. When you shoot at a target, you dont die, when you "play" biatlon you dont die. Say your sorry to all the pleopple that HAVE DIED RIDING AND THAT RISK THERE LIVES EVERDAY BECAUSE OF TRUE PASSION!! THAT IS BRAVE AND SOMETHING EVERBODY SHOULD EMULATE. eQUESTRIANS DONT JUST EXIST... THEY LIVE!
TheArmadillo17 3 months ago
@TheArmadillo17 But everyone that rides doesn't DIE from riding. Some people have died riding, but some people have died doing biathlon, and skiing too. Some people have died from horseshoes! So really if people have died from it, it doesn't make it better or anything
BrownChickenandcow1 1 week ago
@BrownChickenandcow1
Hey bro, why don't you just take your biathalon crap and gtfo. You obviously didn't read my posts or anyone else's replying to you. It's clear that you know nothing about this sport, so you don't really have any valid points to make about it. Quit spewing bullshit.

@3000horsecrazy Look at the title! Tell Me About Your Sorry Excuse For A Sport. If that doesn't suggest that she thinks that this sport is better then other sports, I don't know what does.
BrownChickenandcow1 1 week ago
@BrownChickenandcow1 Well your comment sorta did so...
3000horsecrazy 1 week ago
@BrownChickenandcow1 Ok. What was the point of your comment? This sport; {Equestrian}; is unlike no other and brings out the true meaning of sport. We didn't say other sports need practice. And why are YOU on OUR videos. Go back to your Biathlon videos or watch these videos and don't complain. Respect us for what we do.
FriesianGirl0601 1 week ago
@FriesianGirl0601 When equestrian people call other sports "sorry excuses" it makes it seem like you guys are "high and mighty" and better than everyone else. That makes me not respect you. I respected your sport a lot before and I think it would be dangerous. I don't completely agree with how physically demanding it is, but oh well, NASCAR isn't physical but people like it. Now I don't respect it because the thought that equestrians weren't snobby is now false.
BrownChickenandcow1 1 week ago
@BrownChickenandcow1 We are not the snobby ones. When we say "Sorry Excuse" doesn't mean we are saying we are "High and mighty" we are just saying that DO NOT get a lot of respect from others. This is a sport people forget about or they think it's a hobby. And just to tell you, it's very physical demanding. Maybe some riders are snobby but you can't say ALL of them are just because of one video. We make this sport get attention because we put it out there. (No meanness)

Hmn this just came up in my recomeded list and tbh although I ride myself I have to say the description is more than a little disrespectful of other sports ANY sport when you progress enough is tough Rugby,Ice Hockey,Cricket and Motorsports all carry a very real risk of fatal accidents dont expect respect from others if you in turn dont show them respect it works both ways you know

ilovemyjazzy1 4 months ago

@LetsFlyOnceMore Sorry, ran out of space in the last post XD I'm interested simply because medical science fascinates me, I will become a medical student next year. But I understand if you don't want to share it :)
templarknight94 5 months ago
@LetsFlyOnceMore Point taken. But theoretically she could have that leg amputated and get an artificial limb and still be able to ride...I know that's just me speculating, but it is perfectly possible. And you said that there was only "the risk". Personally, I'd rather be able to ride, even if it meant losing a leg. Many people would think otherwise. I never said there wouldn't be exceptions, I said it "probably won't end your career". Do you mind me asking, what did she actually do to her leg?
templarknight94 5 months ago
@LetsFlyOnceMore I myself have had a bad break to my right leg, and by "bad break" I mean a dislocated ankle and knee, two broken metatarsals and a spiral fracture from ankle to hip. I can still ride perfectly fine-I can do dressage, showjumping, cross country, even stunt riding. But to this day I find it difficult to go any faster than a fast jog without having to do a wierd motion with my leg. So I can't run properly, so although I compete successfully as a rider, I could never be a footballer
templarknight94 5 months ago
@LetsFlyOnceMore No, that's not true. Like I said, it "probably won't end your career". What I meant by that was, that you may have to give up showjumping or cross country, etc. But you can still ride. One of my friends lost a leg and an arm in a car crash but she still competes in dressage and showing. My cousin's ex boyfriend was a semi-pro footballer who got caught in a bad tackle that broke his leg. No professional team will take him on, he can't run properly anymore.
templarknight94 5 months ago
A student of mine could get PE credits from her school for participating an extracurricular sport, and when she approached the gym teacher about her dressage activities, the teacher said it wasn't enough of a physical effort. My student borrowed their fancy heart monitor, and we had a barely 45-minute lesson on her 3rd level Friesian. The PE teacher and principle reviewed the data and realized that the aerobic and anaerobic benefit was more than most of their in-school classes! approved! LOL
dressageaddicted 6 months ago 2

Isn't life great!!
horselover1239 8 months ago 2

I certainly hope that you don't ride full speed toward jumps!!!!! that would end badly... lets say we ride quarter speed(but faster than other poeple can run) toward stationary objects with the possibility of spooking and then bareling full speed through a jump, falling, and either dying or going through an extremely painful experience.
msilken 9 months ago
Oh quit arguing. The reason for the vid is to get the point across and to show people who think equestrian is nothing that it could be harder than their own sport. I play soccer and train horses and I honestly will say the horses are much harder. Figuring skating would be the same as horse riding. Same with select other sports. But the point is to show people that think its not that it is extremely difficult.

I ride horses, and while i agree with this video and that equestrian takes a lot of skill, I also dance and I know that all sports are difficult in different ways. don't belittle other sports just because you think youre superior
have you tried dancing? football? volleyball? basketball?
while I'm a solid rider, i can truly say that for ME, sports like soccer volleyball and football are much harder. don't think youre better than anyone b/ you ride horses.

tomboy4always 1 year ago
@TheLightEclipse
yeah i agree with you.. horse riding is actually way dangerous and soccer is just kicking a ball back and fourth no offence.. :\
EbnAddy 11 months ago
@TheLightEclipse
True.
Even soccer player do run all the time. Equeastrian is much harder. If it goes wrong, it goes terribly wrong. You can even die in just a split second. And soccer, if you got bad luck you break your leg.
Breaking your leg is nothing compared to the injuries you can get from horses.
Ipodmoeilijk 7 months ago
@Ipodmoeilijk Yeah, but breaking your leg can end your career. If you are a top show jumper or footballer, and you break your leg, then you may never be able to jump or play ball again. You can die playing virtually any sport (well, darts, snooker, etc is debatable, but essentially you can lol). I have a friend who has massive injuries from her horse landing on top of her. I also have a friend who died because they crashed their car whilst in a race. There are risks to be taken in any sport :)
templarknight94 6 months ago
@templarknight94
Yes, a friend of mine lost a few fingers because of a rope, on the other side of the rope was a scared horse.
A few days ago, in the Netherlands, a horserider was killed by a horse falling on top of her.
Ipodmoeilijk 6 months ago
@Ipodmoeilijk My friend had 14 broken ribs and a broken back, plus two broken legs...she is paralyzed now. What happened to your friend is awful-stories of accidents like that always remind me to teach my riding lesson children not to wrap lead ropes around their fingers. Might I be so bold as to ask, if they are still riding? If so, they are a brave person and fair play to them.
templarknight94 6 months ago
@templarknight94
The first one began to ride western (one hand) because her right hand almost got no fingers left.
The second one is dead
A thing you should always remember: a horse weighs 10 times more than you. It can crush you any second, even not on purpose.
(srry for my english)
Ipodmoeilijk 6 months ago
@Ipodmoeilijk
Ahh, right.
Your English is fine :)
templarknight94 6 months ago
@templarknight94
One time a horse kicked me so bad on my knee, that bone went from his place (ehm... what's that in english, I hope you can understand it)
I don't own any horses but
Ipodmoeilijk 6 months ago
@Ipodmoeilijk
but I worked at a stable with mares, stallions, foals and geldings.
And some of them weren't under the saddle when we got them.
That's when you can have the most injuries
Ipodmoeilijk 6 months ago
@EbonyLover4Ever Sorry, I don't mean to jump in on an argument but I'm an equestrian but done many many different sports I do believe that equestrian AND soccer are both indeed a sport. I think equestrian takes more bravery and skill but soccer takes more physical endurance so I think that was what she was trying to get at...
DreamSceneHorseGirl 1 year ago
@EbonyLover4Ever soccers a sport but running around a field and kicking a ball 3 times a week is not as hard as getting a horse over a 5ft jump or getting the horse to run as fast as it can around barrels or mimick a cow or back up thru an L shape pole or getting a horse over a bridge. just saying
xWesternGirlx 1 year ago
@xWesternGirlx Well, yeah, but soccer isn't just what you said it was. If you are a rider and you break your leg then it probably won't end your career. I know people with amputated limbs who ride perfectly well.. But if you are a professional footballer and you break your leg in a certain way, then your career is over. I have 16 horses and I do virtually everything from jousting to jumping to dressage with them, and they are all horses with behavioral problems so I know the risks.
