Hooray! Absolutely charming! Rather different from the ballroom variations I've seen, but wonderful...it feels authentic to me, and from annielosangeles' comment, I gather that so it is. So stirring! The Poles sure know how to dance! Thank you, Poland, for all the wonderful dances you've contributed to the classical repertoire, like the Mazurka and Polonaise!
@Cappuccino17 - Oh yes, I understand. I meant that the Poles as a people gave the world some great dances! :D Thanks for posting your videos...I'm really enjoying them!
@JLeeGraham Hello! It's a nice mazurka dance, isn't it? I'd like to know the name of the used music. I founding this song these days. Please tell me by all means. Please!!
@suzume0o0o I'm still trying to find out who wrote this music. As soon as I find out, I'll post it here! I think it characterises the actual dance perfectly, unlike the many stylised examples that were not written for dancing (Chopin's Mazurkas, for example), or were written for ballets (such as the Mazurka from Delibes' "Coppelia"). If anyone knows who the composer of this Mazurka is, please let us know! :)
This just like the Mazurka I learned when I was a young girl going to Polish grade School in America. To me, it is very authentic as a first-generation American. The mazurka is a court dance and is done with restraint and grace. The moves here are very authentic. When I was older and studied dance at the American Ballet Theatre, we learned to do the Mazurka with much more accent and legs lifted higher--for modern tastes. But the authentic way is much more restrained and elegant as this was.

Very delicate dancers.
Basis of steps exists with added elaboration.
Caracter of the interpretation has not changed according to the music (forte, dolce..)
Dont you hear accents in the music ? I dont see them in the dance.
Take care NOT to use extra figures (there is
no "porte" or "souleve" in the mazur)
Missing global movement of the couple on all
stage wide.
Neverthelees good to watch for entertainment.

Splendid music! The dancers are not bad, either.
