  • Could something like this be applied to MMORPGs? Would it be too much for most computers to handle?

  • OMG realtime OMG !

  • I think that disco ball is in need of some hair gel That will keep it in place.

    Ha ha ha

  • Dave Mustaine: The Video Game.

  • thats one sexy disco ball

  • 0:32 wtf! xD

  • 0:39 wiiiieeeeeeeeee...

  • maybe i should be a disco ball with yellow hair on halloween

and btw the song Twilight by Maze go good with this video

  • Its like a weird shampoo commercial on LSD...

  • hippie

  • LOL

  • why dont video games have physics like that, all the hair on the gaems are plastic looking

  • Because if they do that it will take a lot of time to load things. Uh...just learn by using Blender and looking for hair tutorials and you'll see what I mean.

  • Because the physics calculations here are likely to require intense processing power for each hair strand, coupled with trying to do the same calculations to populate a room full of people on top of the high demands that most games already have.

  • Have you got any idea how expensive equipment you need to run that kind of physics or even better? Consoles can hardly do it. PCs will be superior to all other platforms and you need quite of a hardware to enjoy those physics.

  • @jakejanne

    not really,

this wasnt rendered in realtime, meaning it was calculated, THEN played, not at the same time

  • Well yeah that's true but IF it was realtime. That would be like OMAGAWD.

  • @jakejanne i should really read descriptions next time -_-

it was rendered in real time, so yeah beast computer required, kinda

  • Lol? I didn't even realize whether it was or not. :P I got confused. But in my mind I knew that was "realtime".

  • doesnt seem very efficient - its already spluttering with 1 not too hairy head

you'd be better off using something like 10-20 of those strands and attaching them to alpha planes

  • mmmm that blonde chick looks grea...............OH SHIT IT'S A DISCO BALL!!!

  • lol

  • @NutsandGuts I wonder if I can get that disco balls number. It's very lonely here.

  • Let it Rocks ! xD

  • Because it would probably slow the game ALOT.

  • no, the havok engine and some other engines today are VERY VERY VERY strong.

  • discohead!

  • that'd be cool in a boxing game... like when someone gets punched in the face ;) hair goes SPOOSH!

  • or in some of the new band sims, head banging!!

  • or maybe like in a shampoo comercial

  • @ Lustrum0005

Why the fuck would they animate a shampoo commercial?

  • that is my new favorite sound effect

  • Nicely done! I liked the 0-gravity hair.

  • That would be a cool effect for a brutal powerup in a game ^^

  • WHOA what a mullet that discoball has:O

  • hairy discoball

  • lol lotsa conditioner

  • well, it's a start... but is far from perfect. i mean we shouldn't have avoided hair animation for so long.

  • Cool

  • I think this is similar to water physics (?)

They both are like mesh morphing or netting or what-ever you call it. Also similar to ragdoll, nice man :)

  • nice work!

  • Sounds cool! Would you be able to port this result as a plugin to use with lightwave 3d? I have a film project wich need this. Plz contact me at silviotoledo yahoo dot com dot br

  • This is amazing, very realistic! in my opinion! you wont find anything this realistic in any modern game so i dont know what everyone else is moaning about! what exactly is Verlet integration? and what do you mean by relative ease! :-0! this looks really good, i kept imagining waynes world+bohiemian rapsody!

  • quite cool, but not al that life like, you probably need to tweak the paramters so it won't move so much like those synthetic funny wigs and those dusters

  • where did u get this engine?

  • WOW! computer games are getting really impressive...

not realistic, but... cool! (i know, this is just a test!)

  • wow inbox101 you should comment if you don't know what this is about

    great video

  • it doesn't look really look real...

  • I hope you realize this is only a test for movement...

  • Yeah, it only looks better than any other real time hair motion.

  • no it doesnt, buck.
