Hi We did use the extension but we found this to work best for us and it was one less thing to keep clean. I also make his food so sometimes depending on what he gets it's really difficult to clean the extension. We've never had anything come out, he's pretty good when he gets fed but I'll keep it in mind if it should ever happen.
Do you ever use a mic-key extension? I know it is one more thing to take care of and remember to bring. But you lil one is very squirmy...I would be afraid the syringe would come out and he get hurt. The thing that is nice about the extention you have remove to allow him to move. Some are 12'' some are 24" so with the extra tubing it would be safer in my opinion
Hi sboehi, your son sounds really young- I would probably start by adding some baby oatmeal or cereal to his breast milk, my son was already on solid foods when he received his tube (15 months) afterward if he tolerates the cereal you can either make the baby food yourself or get good quality baby food- start with a more liquid consistency than you can go thicker- with the thicker liquids, i use a bolus syringe with the plunger (in the video) but check with his pediatrician
How can I contact you? My son is also on a gtube, 10 months old and I am getting the courage to feed him solids. I've been breast pumping for 10 months straight and would like to get some tips on how to start. Please help,
Hi yes, i use to use the adapter tube thing but it was one more thing to clean - this seems to work great for us. i hope you found it helpful. the paper towel has saved us from changing him thank goodness. thanks for watching.
A towel! You would think common sense would tell me to put a towel around my son's G-tube to prevent the drips from going everywhere, but it never occurred to me. Thank you! Today I used a towel while flushing his button.
i dont understand what a mic-key is

It's a tip that comes with his 60 cc irrigation syringe (the syringe I use to deliver bolus feedings)
