2 points:1 yes the combustion chamber needs to be bigger than the berral. and 2 if you switched the caps ud get a better burn because it will burn from the back to the potato giving it better momentum

FYI: PVC produces electrostatic charge when two pieces are rubbed together, and a spark could occur while screwing the cap back on after spraying the fuel in. You could really hurt yersef if the thang splodes while putting the cap back on.
