I wouldn't say he has a "tone" problem, I would thats just the recording and the speed mixed exchanging of from low to high notes. Its very good, man.

Tell y'all people what:

Distance from the microphone, etc, can all affect how a sound is recorded.

I think this person would sound really good in real life :)

a lot of the tone problems could come from playing directly into the mic. The sound of a trombone is usually best when reflecting off another surface - have a trombone player play something directly at you, and the same thing with you to their side, and it will sound much much better with you to the side. There are some small issues, but really great overall!

you're very good at technique; however, you have terrible tone. you should practice with long-tone excercises to get a nicer tone quality.

Don't listen to those people. That was very sloppy. You need to slow it down to halftime, and re-learn the piece. Yeah, I'm sure you do some things well with the bone, but this piece at this tempo is beyond your capabilities.
