@drakeskyrim have you read road of the patriarch? if not dont make a judgement just yet. i can tell you right now id rather have lived as Drizzt than Entreri when they were children.
I like the duality between these two characters, the difference between them is mainly their past and how its affected them, If Drizzt had experienced Entreri's childhood he would have turned out the same.
I have to say, my favorite character in this AWESOME series is Jarlaxle. He's just so interesting and cool. He's calm in almost every situation you see him in, and he's like, always in control.

If you think about it, Drizzt and Zaknafien are the same level of swordsmen, and Drizzt and Artemis are the same level of swordsmen, so that would technically make Artemis and Zaknafien the same level.

But, on a spiritual standpoint, Drizzt is the strongest; he goes beyond the simplicities of swordsmanship and puts his faith into his choices and friends. This faith was subliminaly given to Drizzt by Zaknafien. This eternally makes him the stronger.

@AasimarGarrick to me, it's hard to compare over wheither Entreri or Jarlaxle is the greater villain. They both have incredible advantages, but also thrive over the concept of providing Drizzt a personal challenge. And villains that can drown the protagonist with personal dilemmas always manages to keep me entertained.

@ICPjug90 i dont think thats right. joker is plain evil and batman is a good guy threw and threw. jarlaxle is far from pure evile. he is pragmatic and will kill ect when he has to. but he has been shown many times as having a sense of honor and compassion. he is not the uber good guy drizzt is but he does not inflict pain or death unless there is a good reason for it. those reasons are often dubious but he is hardly pure evil. the joker on the other hand will kill ect just for laughs.

I've read all the drizzt books. I didn't say wulfgar is better than drizzt- just that he isn't useless at all. Also, drizzt wasn't named the best swordsman in menzoberranzan. He was named the best in melee- magthere at the time, and defeated zaknafein in combat, while zaknafein was the greatest weapons master.
In single combat with only swords, Drizzt would beat Jarlaxle. But using all their equipment, Jarlaxle would destroy drizzt.
And if you've read all the books you'd know Jarlaxle also defeated Zacknafein in one on one combat as well. It was a story he told Artemis. Jarlaxle never shows his hand, he always has another trick up his sleeve. Drizzt might have attacked, but he also might have lost. Of course Drizzt is incredibly lucky when it comes to karma, so he just might have won.

The most epic moment out of ALL of the Books is probably when Wulfgar breaks out of Errtu's Ice chamber and restrains his arm back.

Drizzt and Entreri are like the same people forced into different circumstances. Drizzt stated that Entreri was what he himself would have become if he had stayed in Menzoberranzan. Drizzt hates Entreri for succumbing to the vices of the world, and Entreri hates Drizzt because he sees his antithesis there. They both represent opposite sides of the morality spectrum. However, in the Crystal Shard trilogy, Entreri changes.... a LOT.

Yes, Entreri and Drizzt dispute because they are mirror images of each other in their prowess w/ the blade, but totally oposite in morals and principles in what makes them who they are. Entreri believes that Drizzt is weak because he has all the luxuries that he threw away long ago, Like friends and what not, to become what he has, and he seeks to prove himself right.
Artemis hates Drizzt because he believes his purpose in life is to be the best swordsman in the world. Drizzt whips his ass on a few occasions so Entreri wants to prove to himself that he's better than Drizzt.
Drizzt hates Entreri for completely different reasons.
Close.Entreri hates Drizzt because Entreri hates how Drizzt has become a swordmans on a higher level than Entreri Without having to be cruel and unrelenting. Their conflicts lie on a moral dispute. Entreri feels compelled to prove that he is a better fighter than drizzt and that being Cruel, decietful and murserous is the only way top truly become a perfect fighter.
drizzt is not a higher swordsman than entreri they are absolutly idently in theit skill with the sword ..

Also, Artemis knows he is human, and is getting older, while Drizzt will remains "young" for many centuries. He hates the fact that he will lose his ability to fight as he grows older, while Drizzt won't. And he seeks to prove that Drizzt is weak because he is compassionate, has friends, etc. Actually, though, in the later books, Artemis seems to soften up a bit.
Actually I think that is a stylized pic of Artemis. The guy in the pic didn't have as much of a beard/goatee as the prince, I've never seen the prince with that gauntlet or weapons and that sword reminded me of charon's claw.
You can either play as him in Demon Stone or in Baldur's Gate. To play as him in Baldur's Gate, you need to like go back and forth between the characters or something and the cursor will go off the screen and you can play as him or Artemis.
It's called Demon Stone,and you only play as Drizzt for part of one level, iI think its the seventh level but I have it and I personally loved the game, though the level with Drizzt was difficult
if they can find a budget for lord of the rings movies , they should be able to find a budget for the legacy , starless night and seige of darkness.....feature full length movies

nah you weren't wrong. in a normal situation neither would run but when they know that it could be the end of there lives they will retreat and come back later, as would any smart person which i guess is why i like those characters so much. they are such realistic and believable characters. they hit close to home, everyones experienced things that those characters go through. though its not quite to the exaggerated degree that they go through lol
He's appeared in many games based in Forgotten Realms if I remember correctly. Such as Demon Stone, and some other game I can't remember now....damnit, but it has a bunch of characters and you can unlock drizzt at one point.

Drizzt ran from Mind Flayers in Exile, he ran from his homeland, although both for good reason. Artemis ran from Drizzt in the Halflings Gem, so yeah. they are both awsome ppl but technically they do run occasionally.

Artemis actually had the chance to kill Drizzt in their first encounter. Drizzt awoke with Artemis holding his blade to his throat. Oh well, I suppose the matter will be settled in future books.

Of course Drizzt is incredibly lucky when it comes to karma, so he just might have won.

The most epic moment out of ALL of the Books is probably when Wulfgar breaks out of Errtu's Ice chamber and restrains his arm back.
Drizzt would still beat Wulfgar, but Wulfgar can do certain things that no one else can do.

Drizzt and Entreri are like the same people forced into different circumstances. Drizzt stated that Entreri was what he himself would have become if he had stayed in Menzoberranzan. Drizzt hates Entreri for succumbing to the vices of the world, and Entreri hates Drizzt because he sees his antithesis there. They both represent opposite sides of the morality spectrum. However, in the Crystal Shard trilogy, Entreri changes.... a LOT.

Yes, Entreri and Drizzt dispute because they are mirror images of each other in their prowess w/ the blade, but totally oposite in morals and principles in what makes them who they are. Entreri believes that Drizzt is weak because he has all the luxuries that he threw away long ago, Like friends and what not, to become what he has, and he seeks to prove himself right.

Artemis hates Drizzt because he believes his purpose in life is to be the best swordsman in the world. Drizzt whips his ass on a few occasions so Entreri wants to prove to himself that he's better than Drizzt.
Drizzt hates Entreri for completely different reasons.

Close.Entreri hates Drizzt because Entreri hates how Drizzt has become a swordmans on a higher level than Entreri Without having to be cruel and unrelenting. Their conflicts lie on a moral dispute. Entreri feels compelled to prove that he is a better fighter than drizzt and that being Cruel, decietful and murserous is the only way top truly become a perfect fighter.

drizzt is not a higher swordsman than entreri they are absolutly idently in theit skill with the sword ..
salvatore said this in many interviews.
drizzt wins some fights against artemis but is so close that even a blow of wind could change the result of the fight and in some fights drizzts friedns came and helped him.
i really like drizzt but many people said he "owns " entreri up and this is not true and it is not waht salvatore sais about this 2 guys.

Yes, Artemis hates Drizzt because he knows Drizzt is a better swordsman, even if by a close margin. Also, Artemis knows he is human, and is getting older, while Drizzt will remains "young" for many centuries. He hates the fact that he will lose his ability to fight as he grows older, while Drizzt won't. And he seeks to prove that Drizzt is weak because he is compassionate, has friends, etc. Actually, though, in the later books, Artemis seems to soften up a bit.

Actually I think that is a stylized pic of Artemis. The guy in the pic didn't have as much of a beard/goatee as the prince, I've never seen the prince with that gauntlet or weapons and that sword reminded me of charon's claw.

You can either play as him in Demon Stone or in Baldur's Gate. To play as him in Baldur's Gate, you need to like go back and forth between the characters or something and the cursor will go off the screen and you can play as him or Artemis.

It's called Demon Stone,and you only play as Drizzt for part of one level, iI think its the seventh level but I have it and I personally loved the game, though the level with Drizzt was difficult

nah you weren't wrong. in a normal situation neither would run but when they know that it could be the end of there lives they will retreat and come back later, as would any smart person which i guess is why i like those characters so much. they are such realistic and believable characters. they hit close to home, everyones experienced things that those characters go through. though its not quite to the exaggerated degree that they go through lol

He's appeared in many games based in Forgotten Realms if I remember correctly. Such as Demon Stone, and some other game I can't remember now....damnit, but it has a bunch of characters and you can unlock drizzt at one point.

Drizzt ran from Mind Flayers in Exile, he ran from his homeland, although both for good reason. Artemis ran from Drizzt in the Halflings Gem, so yeah. they are both awsome ppl but technically they do run occasionally.

Drizzt had Artemis beat, and Artemis screamed to the crowd "Drow!" so he could escape. That's cowardly. Also, at the end of the Legacy, even Regis had the chance to kill Entreri. Don't get me wrong, I like him a lot.

Artemis actually had the chance to kill Drizzt in their first encounter. Drizzt awoke with Artemis holding his blade to his throat. Oh well, I suppose the matter will be settled in future books.

ey ebrybody for the game of drizzt. thats game is demonstone por pc and playstation 2, the game is not a drizzt game, he only appears in a map, the time is after the hunters blade trilogy when nesme down, y repeat is nt a game of drizzt. baldurs gate hass a drizzt too.
