The song was written by J.J. Cale. Herbie Man was a flute player, not a singer, who made a nice cover. Cissy Huston sang on that cover -- the mother of Whitney Houston. Otherwise the given information is correct :)

Really love this song .... among many others from Randy girl!!! Had the opportunity to see her performe live in Denmark back in 1989. Fantastic!!! Will there ever be such a grand singer like Randy? I don't think so.

I agree, this unsung hero was underrateed highly. I was in Jr High back then. I did not learn of R Crawford till I was my 20's. I grew up in the US (South) and I watched BET MTV and I think because of the big commercial names like M Jackson, Prince, Madonna etc, a lot of good material like this was not included.

Not to mention the serious payola activity that corrupted the radio industry and kept a lot of good stuff from being heard. That is one man's opinion.

And the fact that commercial success was more important 2 the industry than the MUSIC it self is sad... now look what their subjecting us all 2 listen 2 BET/MTV/IDOl n so forth...Randy big ups cause you could and still can sang girl. Thats right I challenge so many idols of today to get up and do more live work without the boody shaking and flexing your six pack. I dont have one, but whats that got to do with singing real live music with real iive instruments. Do you agree with me that the music videos have helped water down our expectations, cause that is what I believe. Great as videos are, they seemed to have substituted musicianship.

Watered down is an understatement...and most of the videos r garbage 4 real. I'd rather have Live music from local bands than pay fifty,sixty bucks 2 see most of the singers(i use that term loosely) of 2day. 2day's music is more about how u look n fashion...and frankly I don't care 4 a lot of what i'm hearing these days. And most could care less about their own fan base...their's only a select few I would pay 2 c

@idaniel4 I agree wholeheartedly!!! These singers nowadays are manufactured and made to fit in. She didn't care what she wore on stage as is apparent in many of her videos, and she sang like NO OTHER!!! Au Natural!!!!

Isn't this the "Cajun Long Trip" remix? I think she did release this song as a single in 1995/96 but don't know what version it was...only the album version I have is totally different to this. It's chilled and jazzy, but I really like this one its cool, danceable with a deep baseline and nice gospel backing vocals. Should have been a big hit!!!
