Oh i forgot to change the description... No, there are only 26, but the series's episodes were divided into 2 starting from episode 14(i think it was 14...) for shorter viewing time, for other shows to get more time on tv or something like that.

well actually there are ONLY 26 epsiodes,but for some reason i japan they aired the eps in two parts,like1 epsidoes is now divided in 2 parts.and that's how they ended the series ^^.i dont rly get it either,but ask someone who knows heh ^^"

actually there sorta is 38 eps all together if you put season one and season 2 together as they aired on tv. season one aired with 13 30 min episodes and season two aired with 26 15 min episodes [to cordinate with the tv time slot, buttt in the dvd realase the split episodes were put back together as 30 min episodes.

SO in conclusion some ppl have them uploaded as they were aired on television and some have them uploaded as they came on the dvd!!!

I can try to explain.

Princess Tutu was divided into two seasons: Chapter of the Egg and Chapter of the Chick/Fledgling. "Egg" consisted of thirteen half-hour episodes, while "Fledgling" would consist of the last 13. However when "Fledgling" was originally on TV in Japan, the episodes were 15 minutes each, meaning that the second season would have 26 episodes total. This would bring the grand total of episodes to 39, if you include the special episode.

I really don't want a third season. As much as I love this anime to pieces, it would totally ruin it by becoming a spin-off. They had a good message going with the ending, and I don't think they'd change it, even if we could petition the creators in Japan. Stories like this one have beautiful endings.
