I don't know why it has to be a competition between champloo's music and bebop's, I've never seen it that way. I love both of the animes and their soundtracks are amazing in their own ways! How you can say that champloo's track isn't comparable because it doesn't feature one producer or composer is bewildering to me. Nujabes contributed a lot to champloo and he has had a huge impact on my life in the way Yoko Kanno has 4 others but I'm not gonna call out any1 to say 1 soundtrack is better...
The Japanese have to be one of the most musical people on Earth, I mean their taste has no bounds, especially when it comes to appreciating the complexities and the subtle harmonies of the legendary genre we know as jazz!
@Gxyz222 Actually I think europeans(whites) have to be the most musical people, and innovative, but japanese have done great in modern music like jazz and hip hop. (BUT Defiantly NOT POP)
@lazerBAR the Europeans do have quite an amazing history in the music world, from the early ages of classical music to reshaping the pop genre and actually making it fun and interesting to listen to(like Jamiroquai and The Brand New Heavies)! Japanese pop isn't so bad if you can get passed the over rated stuff, it can actually be better than American pop(today), it's like they have an ear for everything...
@vanillatoast14 No, it never did. Not sure where this came from, but I think it may have been used in the PS2 game they produced. Try searching youtube for 'cowboy bebop the song remains the same.'
Never has a song of such elegance and beauty LITERALLY, and I do mean literally, made me close my eyes, forget everything around me, an take my breath away. If you can find a single fault in this music, then you, I am afraid, are not a connoisseur of fine music.
You do realize that that Yoko Kanno and her Seatbelts composed and perfprmed all of the music for Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell, and Wolves Rain don't you? She is one of the great composers of our day... I don't think she had anything to do with Samurai Champloo... hmmm...
Since Z ate a lot out of the budget they have to skimp on other stuff. Also, sinze Z was so high they can't risk doing anything innovative. So it ends up as crap. Just look at any movie-based game.
agreed, then therefore the arguement is "Which musical assortments help their series more in terms of creating the mood" and i would have to say Cowboy Bebop. I had to listen to Yoko Kanno and wonderful music while reading the manga of this show.. Yes Champloo needs its music but it isnt Cowboy Bebop without Yoko Kanno, the Seatbelts. Llaria, and Steven ConteI probably .would not have felt the urgency of a scene if it was not for NY RUSH!

These songs are lovely. Parts of this reminds me alot of the music from Nat/Natalie Cole. Both very nice music to relax to. c:

I love Cowboy Bebop i have all of the soundtracks one CD. Even this one. Cowboy Bebop soundtrack is so great my Grandmother love it.
Cowboy Bebop is #1 in soundtrack but Ghost in Shell is 2nd then Wolves Rain. Samurai Champloo Soundtrack isn't that great too me.

@rducky01 i know that. someone said Samurai Champloo soundtrack can give Cowboy Bebop a run for the money and that was my answer.
neworleanslady2009 2 years ago
Ah I see. That's hilarious: yet still, not a comparison.
rducky01 2 years ago
@rducky01 She didn't. Samurai Champloo was primarily Nujabes. Kanno wasn't involved at all as far as I know.
HuggumsMcgehee 1 year ago
@HuggumsMcgehee Nujabes, Force of Nature, Tsutchie, hmm what else...oh yeah cyne too I think , and let's not forget Shing02 for the INTro :)

Great song, too bad the game sucked...
Guess too much budget spend on the music and copyrights but not enough into GAME development.

Game company X buys license Y for Z money.

@k1awdttt yeah you're right, the game was of poor quality. but we all know that no game creator can amount to the awesomeness of Cowboy Bebop series

Such a classic, from what is easily the best original soundtrack for a series/movie/game ever created.

Idk Samurai Champloo could give Cowboy Bebop a run for its money in the music department.

Its just shows the genius of shinchiro and his taste in music. He made two of the greatest animes both with amazing soundtracks.

No way, Champloo has some good music. But I think Bebop has much better music =]

Music is subjective,
end of aguement.
madara021 2 years ago
What arguement? =/
DaKineUpdate 2 years ago
The music isn't comparable. Champloo uses a lot of ambient hip-hop tracks while Cowboy Bebop is mostly smoother jazz and funk.
Since they're not even in the same genre it's simply a matter of musical taste.
jimius 2 years ago 99
Do agree.

@jimius I like both. I can't honestly say which I prefer, I haven't heard enough of each, but I love both styles quite a bit.
