  • Earthworks are woth it if they enable you to create a more stable system... Your design will heal the wounds and regenerate the land which is a good trade off.

  • Man you're going BIG!

  • Really good points!!!

  • it`s ok! it will be better than ever once you get some trees in the ground!

  • it's hardly hypocritical. we were all born into this absurd industrialized world without a sense of the land or a sustainable traditional lifestyle. everything that adds up at the end of the day to moving in the opposite direction of the destructive model of mainstream society is a good thing. those machines perform a permanent, one-time reworking of the land that will make it friendly to humans and nature for centuries. it may be quite necessary if permaculture is to really get off the ground.

  • You put it WONDERFULLY! I wish I would have written it like that in on the site. Well said!!!

I feel so much better now...youre awesome.

    Anthony

  • Yeah don't sweat having to rely on heavy equipment too much even permaculture founder Bill Mollison talks about it being useful and the impact it has is outweighed by the long term benefits of reshaping the land! Ya must be really geeked up about this project it looks like a lot of fun!

  • LOL so on day 3 they get a bobcat

  • Yeah...when you think about the time and manpower involved, its best to go green ASAP and just hire the bobcat. Even Mollison (the founder of permaculture) advocates this, so I feel a bit vindicated now.
