And just to be clear, I don't mean to hate on the iphone OS, it just looked like the guy was trying REAL hard to find something, ANYTHING to say about it and chose the wrong word entirely, which I found very funny.
It's kind of the PC equivalent of your computer illiterate family member who's got every application's icon up on the desktop for ease of access.
@hht2ul he means simple as in you can't organize it to a more complex manner: such as sub-folders, and bar-menu's.
If you think about it, the people you are talking about do not have to be computer illiterate. My bro builds his own computer setup and all the crap I don't know, but his desktop is still fucking messy.
He also likes the iPhone interface a lot. You know why? Because people like him are more comfortable with everything on the desktop, just like on the iPhone.
Of course the value in Windows Mobile is that if you dont like HTC Sense you can have Titanium, if you don't like that you can have the flat Winmo home screen with today plugins (no more functional interface exists, but its ugly) Dont like that? You can have SPB Mobile shell. If you dont like that you can have Winterface. If you don't like that you can have Androkid. If you dont like that you can have.. The list goes on and on. What options do the others have?
The iPhone Homescreen is boring, WinMo homescreen is great, but the TouchFLO 3D sucks horribly, Android homescreen can become cluttered, but overall is good, and WebOS homescreen is fairly informative, but is close to the iPhone like he said, but the card view is absolutely brilliant. So overall, I would say WinMo, Android, WebOS, then iPhone
I agree, but since HTC is about the only one making decent windows mobile phones anymore I'd say it's fair. Personally I prefer WM 6.5 titanium interface over touchflo. All that really doesn't matter anymore since I've been using android on my touch diamond and if I need WM for something it only takes about 2 minutes to boot up.
I like Titanium because it's very simple and gives lots of information. And of course you can argue that Sense is also simple, but actually it takes up quite a bit of RAM and can make an old phone slow at times
I go back and forth on weather I like android or webOS better. I like having applications, widgets, and folders on android. But I also really like webbos's "deck of cards" way of handling multitasking.
umm... its unfair to have windows competing, b/c the htc sence is running on the top, and u only see the htc homescreen not the actual windows screen..
I love it... even though I was surprised you'd choose the only Android on the planet with no widgets on any of its 5 homescreens. You could have added a few :)
Apple has the worst homescreen ever. The things i like about the iPhone are the touchscreen, the full animated GUI and the LCD quality. iPhone just sucks by thinking that having the most numbers of apps = best phone/OS. The WM + Touch Flow design is simply beautiful, works the best for me, altough Android has the best option out there: Combine Gadgets and launchers on any screen (You can do that on the HTC, but the android is a LOT more customizable), though i as not as 'beautiful' as the HTC.
IOS IS GREAT IT IS BECAUSE HAVE JAILBREAK..CAN DO ALL IN ONE..LOL....FOR ME APPLE IS VERY SMART PHONE!!!!!

5 screens of rows and rows of icons is the most "uncluttered"?
Hilarious.
I really can't imagine a LESS uncluttered interface on any device I've ever seen, it's nothing but clutter.

just look at how shittily the windows mobile 6.5 arranges icons
in before fanboy and i have htc tp2 then so i know what im talking about

I use the htc hero, with the default Sense UI.
And just to be clear, I don't mean to hate on the iphone OS, it just looked like the guy was trying REAL hard to find something, ANYTHING to say about it and chose the wrong word entirely, which I found very funny.

Simple to navigate, absolutely.
Uncluttered? No way in hell.

@hht2ul also, I don't understand why you think that he's making it up the best that he can, I dare you to get him to admit that the OS is not simple.
PoetryRocksGadgets 2 years ago
It IS simple. Not denying that.
But it's not uncluttered.
Those words aren't synonyms.
And calling by far the most cluttered interface in the whole shootout the most uncluttered is funny, at least to me.
hht2ul 2 years ago
@hht2ul and if you ask mac fanboys like John from Jon4Lakers and Noah from PhoneDog, they will agree that the OS is simple.

There is a misteak in this video brandon!
Why do you take "HTC Sense" as the Homescreen of Windows Mobile?
That isn't the homescreen of Windows Mobile, this is the homescreen of HTC!!
That is a diffrent!!
Otherwise you could have shown Intelliscreen for the iPhone!
YTStyla 2 years ago 2
@YTStyla Agreed. But it is the default homescreen of HD2.

Yeah, that's not a Windows Mobile home screen. That's just Sense. There are like a dozen other home screen customization options on Windows Mobile.
adamz1977 2 years ago
You didn't show the Windows Mobile home screen (Titan, clearly the best), you just showed Sense UI which only runs on HTC devices
WhiteRussianBC 2 years ago
@WhiteRussianBC. I must say I was never too fond of Titanium, HTC Sense is a very nice visual experience and full of infomation on the home screen.
Kalavere 2 years ago
I like Titanium because it's very simple and gives lots of information. And of course you can argue that Sense is also simple, but actually it takes up quite a bit of RAM and can make an old phone slow at times
WhiteRussianBC 2 years ago
That I CAN appreciate, my Diamond wasn't the best phone in the world for speed, and bogged down easily.
However, with 567Mbs of RAM on the HD2, sense is just pure win. =))

Just look again at that AMOLED screen. Simply gorgeous.
It's sad omnia II was not included here as the touchwiz UI is just crap. I never ever used that.
And agreed, what they show on HTC is not windows mobile. Title is wrong, instead of windows mobile, it should be Sense UI.
If they wanted to show Windows mobile, then they should have show Titanium, Which is a great UI for those like us who knows how to customize it.
What is why winmo users can use iphone, but iphone users cannot use winmo

really? the video title is incorrect as it should reflect htc but wouldn't call it unfair as that's how they ship.
