I liked your review a lot, I played this game about half a dozen times and I found myself more often then not getting screwed as the humans, or winning as the dungeon master. It's very scaled towards the advantage, and if the dungeon master is a veteran there is literally no way of winning against him(especially when the elite monsters appear)

A good way of balancing the game is allowing 2 cards for human to be drawn(same number as monsters) and/or allowing 4 human characters.

It's a 2 player hybred. Each human can be played by a player and there are rules for that in the manual. You can also limit the number of spawns per round and other things with some optional web rules at the webpage.
