Perhaps this is more personal but I would have included the Sonic drowning theme (in a top 10 list at least). Sonic games have such cheery tunes so we didn't expect something so sinister. They also involve moving fast frequently (Sonic? SPEED? No way) so once we're underwater and the countdown appears we begin to really feel the weight of being underwater, not sure whether we should keep moving forward in hope of seeing the surface or we go back for another air bubble... or panic.

Actually, it is possible to kill the regenerators (and, by extension, the iron maidens). Essentially, have a semi-auto rifle, go inside the freezer, turn off the cooling, find the thermal scope, then equip it to the semi-auto. Basiclaly, using the scope will allow you to target the plagas in the regenerators, killing all of which kills the regenerator. There'll be a regenerator in there after you get the scope, so you can practice on it

Personally ReDeads from Ocarina of Time were the scariest thing in video games. They stand there, motionless, until you get too close. Then they SCREAM AT YOU while you're frozen in place as they slowly walk up to you. Because of the game mechanics chances are you're going to be too spooked to get away and they'll just hold you in place with their death glare, slowly making their way up to you, before they start RAPING YOUR TEN YEAR OLD SELF IN THE EYES!
