Ted Ligety and Marcel Hirscher are masters of these slash turns. It's much more dynamic than a roller-blade carve. Pivot, lean and load to initiate. Slash and release for directional change. Then glide and transfer edges through the belly of the turn. The path of a slash turn would be similar to a roller-blade turn, but the pressure loading of the ski edges would be earlier, more intense and shorter in duration.
