I thought I'd better check just what I have on LP since making above claim and can only find her singing Amelia Robsart in Il Castello Di Kenilworth..Donizetti.
I am guessing that this dates from the late 70's or early 80's.
Others in cast are Janet Price, Maurice Arthur and Christian du Plessis...all likely suspects in Opera Rara offerings of that era.
Have you the video of her doing V'adoro Pupille in this production - and also the bath scene - I just love her and Graeme Pushee together! and I love Kenny's face - it just lights up! Such good technique!
I have this dvd, but no idea how to cut it into smaller pieces (like arias) or change the format. I found V'adoro pupille Mp3 and uploaded it. The more Yvonne on youtube, the better.
what an amazing combination: a very "restrained", I mean, not a lot of high notes, very effortless lines; very melodious and those ornaments are so polished and perfect... a very amazing singer, does not make an impression for the "highs" of her voice, but for the precision of her technique.. do you have more arias sung by her?
Yep, a lot of them, but she has already quite good representation on youtube. Especially arias from mozarts operas. If you like check these titles on youtube: Mozart's Mitridate: "Al destin, che la minaccia" or Mozart's Mitridate: Duetto "Se viver non degg'io". I dont want to sound like crazy fan (who actually I am, he he) and force somebody to watch it, listen to it and love it but its really worth checking out. Besides she is one of the greatest actresses between opera singers.
I totally agree with you! Do you have any of hr donizettian recordings (I mean Rosmonda d'Inghilterra or something else) that you can share with us, please?
check out some of the more obscure stuff she does on here. in her younger days her higher register was rather impressive. but i agree with everything else u said.
It's astonishing how clean her diction is!
