Make sure you tell your students about the flat rate system. The one where you work 60 hours a week to get paid 30.

Actually nowadays it's much more than just fixing dad's car. Some Auto tech's get paid nearly 60,000$ a year. And if you run your own shop it's not to hard anymore you can make even more. But for us it's not about the salary it's about the love of cars and just working with them.
