I think why so many people mess up this song is because Embrose's part rests on the first tick with the 4/4 time, and that throws people off.

GOD i hated this. Count the 4/4 beats, dont pay attention to redbeard. after the fourth tone, go for it, count with your foot in tandem with the 4 beats. It took 2 tries after figuring out its not how long or how good you play or how accurate, (accuracy helps though) then its all about timing of the beats.

Don't listen to other tips. The only tip you need is the ping, when the ping comes up then you play, not when link comes on shot. thats too early! Gl all and i did about 5 minutes about it since i figured it out :D!! GL ALL

@wesleytocool So do I, and I hate the fact that you only hear the full versions of the ordinary pipe songs once. After you learn them, play them again and you get a crappy shortened version. They should have done it OoT style, where you play the song and get the full thing :S

@beastammer1 Most of he songs in Ocarina of Time are way better than those in Spirit Tracks. I personally don't think there's a single bad one at all in that game. They're also easy to play, just press buttons in the right order and they succeed, unlike how in this game you have to worry about playing them at the right time.

For evidence the songs in OoT are good, go look at the masses of remixes of them on youtube XD

@fotofantom1 Go to Anouki Village and go to the pond on the left, the Anouki there will ask you to take them to a cold place with clean water. Take them to the spring (where the rabid trainspotter has his trailer) and they will make the ice there (you have go into trailer and out again after getting force gem before they offer ice).

My favorite song out of the whole game.

Oddly I didn't have too much trouble with these, until the Fire and Sand ones. I didn't even follow a rhythm and it went in the first 2. 1st time I do the fire, I try 15 times and then listen to this and go lay on my bed, worked on 1st try. 2nd time I had to do this it worked on first try. On the sand one I just did it over and over again and it eventually went, which surprised me.

@gorrinilloveloz Es muy facil. Te dare unos tips. 1. Trata de estar en un lugar silencioso, por que el ruido puede confundir al "mic" del DS. 2. Debes estar a al menos entre 5 y 10 cm de distancia del DS. 3. Sopla con profundidad.

I´m doing the same thing, but for some god hatred reason, my DS is stuttering ONLY when I attempt the real thing. In practise it works perfectly, but the flaming Pan Pipe Flute crap is a load of horseshoe shrapnel otherwise!

I think it's a case of if people play instruments/sing music or not. I'm in a brass band and following a background beat is second nature for me, so I found all of these super easy. But for someone not used to that, realising the background beat gives you your cue to start playing probably isn't as obvious.

listen to the beat in the background. this song is in 4/4 time, with the higher pitch 'ping' starting each bar of 4. that higher pitch ping is when you start playing when the camera moves to link and stops still, don't play before it or it counts as too early. after that, so long as you play all 6 notes in the right order before Embrose starts his next bit (the rhythm doesn't have to be exact), it will register as correct. just don't play early, and get your bit done before he starts his next :)
