My groomer "cut" my poms hair. I only asked for a sanitary area cut...but she cut all her hair. The pointy nature of her fur is now gone and she looks ridiculous. Can someone tell me if her hair will do back to the natural way she was born and how long this should take.....Help
@betsyneedsalife How short did she cut it? It should grow back just fine, especially if she didn't cut it really short. She may have had to due to matting of the undercoat but she should have ok'd it with you first. It will grow back at it's own rate, just like humans, dog's coat grows at different rates. Hope this helps, and good luck!
She cut it all over enough to make her appear fuzzy -a longer cut but it removed all her natural lines and points to the hair. She also created unnatural cut lines, if u know what I mean. It is like the groomer was blind. Anyway, she has been to this salon many times and never got more than her feet and sanitary areas "cut" so why would she even consider cutting this dog in another way than usual w/o clarifying this w me? She was not matted, she gets brushed 4 times a week. thx

@betsyneedsalife I would ask if they maybe have a new person that they let groom your dog, or maybe someone who doesn't normally do her... I would definatly tell them that is not what you asked for and NOT to do it that way again unless you asked. It is wrong to do something like that without asking first in my opinion. Good news is it should grow back just fine and look just the same as before since she isn't trimmed super short. ;)

My groomer gave my Pom a teddy bear cut. She removed the undercoat. Now I am worried it may not grow back (the undercoat). It's been just a month since his cut and I sure hope his undercoat grows back in time for winter. I never asked her to remove the undercoat. She just did it. With your experience, will the undercoat grow back or is this permanent? Please help!! Nikki
Hey wanted to let you know what I ended up doing with my dog. I got so frustrated that they were just refusing to clean up his sanitary with baths, I decided to just have them cut him in a puppy cut. They had never heard of it so I got a picture of one and brought it in.They were really proud that they were able to do the cut pretty well and now they added it to their offerings. Thing is, now his sanitary is cleaned up so we don't have anymore issues. Thanks.
I am so glad that I found your vid. I have a question. I have a male pom,9mo and I send him to be groomed about every 2 weeks because I find that he collects stool on his hind end. I have even considered increasing grooming to every week. It is gross, but some times i have to remove it manually off of his fur. Is there anything that you can suggest that I can do or request from the groomer that will help keep him clean short of cutting all of his hair off.
@rosey312 Does she clip around his little bum at all? If not I would ask her to do a little better sanitary on him. I would rather clip the area then have to clean poop off it. LOL :) I would ask for maybe about an inch on either side of the rectum to be clipped short. Hope this helps. :)
@spanielmom93 Thank you for such quick feedback. I live in Brazil and sometimes dog grooming is like haircuts. " you want a trim? Ok , well I decided to give you a flat top". lol I have asked to have them cut the bum a bit more and the did just a tiny bit but it still is messy. I wonder if I just have them cut more hair off of the haunches if that will help too? I would like to work with this groomer as she speaks English, but I may have to change to someone who will do what I want.Thank you.
Thank-you so much for your awesome videos. i have spent so much money on professional learn grooming videos that were not even half as good as yours. I hope one day you market these and make all the money you deserve for making them. please keep more coming and i would like to pay for you to send me my own set of dvds from you in case you ever stop showing them.
what size grooming table is that? I need to get one but am in a small town and have to order it so any suggestions would be great!
