nice to see somebody making simple/useful jigs instead of all the brag videos showing the fancy jigs that took more time to build than they'll ever save.
I made a fixed dado jig (project specific) but the first time I tested it, the router trimmed another little bit off the near piece of plywood. So I made an adjustable one as suggested here and the same thing happened. Turns out the bit is not centered exactly in the shoe. It's 1/16" closer on the back side.
@someonespadre so I need to use the jig with the router in the same orientation, not just the same bit. I write notes to myself with a sharpie pen so I hopefully don't mess up.
Thanks again!! I rebuilt my dado jigs with 3/4 aluminum angle stock for straightness. Your updated jig will do dadoes without any chipout and does not have to be clamped like my latest jigs. I am going to update them to what you have shown! Build furniture in my spare time.
remember too...this jig is for a router with a round base. my first try with this jig was on a router with a flat spot in the base. much to my suprise, the jig wasn't wide enough to function as i describe above.
Great simple solution.

Hi
This is GREAT. One question - how would I make the slots if I didn't have a table router?
I apologize for my ignorance.
Cheers

drill two holes and connect with a jigsaw or coping saw

Jeff how did you make the radial Arm saw dust hood? Which is the best dust hood for a radial Arm Saw?

the dust hood is just a little box right behind the line of cut with a hole in bottom for a shop vac.
