What I truly want to know is how the comments of song turned into a debate of good and evil? Come on people it is a style of music, listen to it for what makes up the song and how they use their instruments. There's more to that than what the songs says a good deal of the time.

We have come a long way from Striper ( a christian rock band of the 80s)...This is some of the best hard rock around and christian bands are some of the best rockers out there...Haste the Day, Demon Hunter...the list goes on. Also, what better content for hard core music than the fire and brimstone of the christian faith.

In Psalm 144, it says David praised the Lord with strings. So who cares what style the music is? The content, the message is what's important. im a catholic, but i still listen to christian music to praise god, and express all the love i feel for him. recently i went to a christian church, and i love it, i normally go their youth groups. only b/c the way they praise god and play the music makes me feel alive, and as though for just that one second he is in the room with us. im not the person to go to church every week, I'll go occasionally, just as long as i know i believe in him , and i don't sin, im fine.

@hairylegs111 Well the point ain't always to teach people, but for people who actually cares about the lyrics they will check em' out and they will then hear what they "yell" about. And this way believers that like metal have something to listen to For example if you feel down, listening to you're favorite music sometimes feels good, and how much better wouldn't it be to hear lyrics about a loving God who is there for you no matter what happened instead of how cool evil and chaos is.

What's funny about most Christians against Christian Metal is that they fail to realize that Pop-ish Praise music is by no means the original form of Christian music. So one could claim that any Christian music style these days is "Devil music". It surely would be considered as such back in Christs time.
It's hypocritical to say this can't be Christian music but that the bands like Newsboys are. Don't get me wrong, I love the Newsboys too

im a catholic, but i still listen to christian music to praise god, and express all the love i feel for him. recently i went to a christian church, and i love it, i normally go their youth groups. only b/c the way they praise god and play the music makes me feel alive, and as though for just that one second he is in the room with us. im not the person to go to church every week, I'll go occasionally, just as long as i know i believe in him , and i don't sin, im fine.

The music is bad ass... but the fact that they are a Christian band is kind of a groove killer. It's hard to take a metalcore band seriously when they write songs about praising the Jeebus. Then again, the same thing can be said about death metal bands writing songs about praising Satan.
