A bit of unsolicited advice: the general rule of thumb for feeding cats (and dogs) is 1/2 cup per 10 lbs. The pet food companies write higher values on the bags because they have a stake in you buying more food. And either way, restricted calorie intake (i.e., feeding 75% of daily requirement) will extend Sherlockcat's lifespan. Wet food has better protein and ensures he gets enough water but also makes him prone to teeth issues. Get him some tartar control dry food to go with his wet, ideally.

Sadly, we see a lot of cats with periodontal disease due to terrible tartar buildup on their teeth as its often very hard for the best of owners to brush a cat's teeth, as one can imagine. Prevention is better than expensive dentistry under anesthesia!
