Damn that hurts. I've got a '96 Ram 1500 with that 318 in it, it just tripped 190,000 miles and it's still rolling along. The program itself was stupid, but the rule that any "clunker" traded in had to be destroyed (including seizing the engine) and couldn't be resold was truly idiotic. All this did was put a lot of money in the hands of Korean carmakers and banks who got to repo the new cars when people couldn't keep up the payments.
sad thing ito me is I own a 1999 dodge ram v8 5.2 and watching this pisses me off to see how dumb people could be I mean one mans trash could have been another mans treasure and they fucked this truck I was given my truck from my dad for free as a gift and I love that truck but sad to see that old truck get destroyed in this video.

This is why I love my 318... 147k miles, and if I emptied out all the oil and added clunker bomb - It would still run full throttle for 2 minutes without dying. Screw you CFC, I've seen so many cars that could have been sold for 20x more than what they were traded in. Of course, some had problems and the owners got a steal, but over all it did more harm than good to our roads and economy...

@FLAG1OITT we didnt toy around with putting other chemicals in the oil pans, that wouldve caused more of a mess than we were already dealing with, and the results would've been very similar. as far as the fireball goes, that was achieved by a connecting rod making a hole in the block, and since that particular cylinder was dead, the fuel injector for said cylinder continued to dump fuel into the block. hot engine + raw fuel = FIRE!! several cars had this happen
