  • grandiose :)

  • I'm started having orgasm at 1:42 . Caveman can knock pretty girl out quick. whew!

  • Discovering Beethoven and Zimerman. Just amazing.

  • Memorising and enchanting.

  • I've heard this concerto before, but never like this. I'm on the point of shaking.

  • 18 minutes of sheer blisssssss

  • Thia is NOT the "Rubinstein cadenza"---This is Beethovens cadenza.

  • @mrbrianmccarthy That's a link to the Rubinstein Cadenza....

  • It is the most beautiful concert I've ever heard

  • 4:20 his hands swim over the piano

  • wow, wish i could've been at this concert...

  • The energy that masterful age creates with prodigious youth is what's really wonderful about this performance. For an equally breathtaking comparison see this same concerto played with the age/youth roles reversed -- a dashing young Ricardo Muti on the podium and the old master Arrau at the keyboard. It's on yt -- probably in the sidebar links at right.

  • At 0:56, Bernstein looks like he's trying to fly. :D

  • @PhysiqueQuantique excuse me. but i believe bernstein isnt trying. he is flying at this point.

  • @crunge91 You're so right. XD

  • I think this is beethoven's own cadenza. Rubinsteins is far more different.

  • @aslanov i believe you're right. i think this is the beethoven cadenza. it would be fascinating to hear the rubinstien cadenza. does anyone know which pianist's recording feature it. would also love to hear the busoni cadenza to this concerto. still it's hard to imagine anything more perfect than what the master himself wrote.

  • @aslanov Its Beethovens cadenza---

  • Une performance de reve, merci

  • Partty I think it's because Krystian pretty much constructs his own piano in order to make the piano sound just right for the piece he is going to play. He's very knowledgable about the Steinway.

  • that cadenza is the one i like most. Because of the arpeggios

  • yes very good

When you here the concertos played perfectly, it becomes torture to here the inferior versions
