  • Looks like Einstein.

  • That's a fine performance regardless of age.

  • To PJViolin... I have played principal trumpet for over 50 years and would be very happy to play with just what he has "lost"!

  • He definitely lost his touch, but he still plays amazingly well as a 71 year old. Much respect to him.

  • quel homme

  • what song is this?

  • he is simply the best :)

    age doesn't matter!

  • Quality never fades!

  • I am highly impressed to see Maurice Andre playing so amazing well at his age. To maintain his high level of musicianship and to play this well for so long is very rare and takes lots of dedication and a strong will.

  • Ahhh... Maurice!!

His is the sound to which I aspire when I play piccolo trumpet. I should play so well at 2/3 his age!

    Guy Clark

  • for a player (any kind) of this age at this level still? absolutely amazing! great job!

  • d+ vc toca muiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiito

    so seu paga pau

  • When I hear Maurice I hear God Almighty and his angels.

  • @DrFore I couldn't sday it any better. It's that simple.

  • Even being as someone called "That old", most of the current younger trumpet players will never play even a half of that sound and skill...

    Maurice Andre is fantastic!

  • enough about the sound delay obviously it's srewed up...that's the best 71 yr old trumpet i've ever heard...

  • Yes, I am sorry about the sound screw up which is to do with the recoding for Youtube, but as you say its a fine performance for someone of that age.

  • OKAY distance does effect sound. It delays it, BUT it doesn't change the length of the source of sound. If I were standing at the back of the hall or at next to the player, the LENGTH of the note will be the same. When I hear the sound will be different.

  • Big hall or not, even with distance delay of sound, the length of the note from the source with the delay would be the same.

  • Okay, so let my break down why I don't think this is sound delay. Visually, he releases the last note of the phrase a lot quicker than what I perceive to hear in the recording. His chops are definitely not on the horn for as long as the note sounds. And what is this, grade school? Respect, I don't call you names.

  • How do you know he is fingering a scale?

  • No, it is not sound delay. Because the violin behind Andre does not mimick the same etude with the music even if it was somewhere between 100ms to 500 ms off. The song is the same, but it isn't at the correct phrase of it. Listen especially when he comes off the phrase.

  • This clip does not match the music. Andre is a great trumpet player, you don't need to dub his playing.

  • i love the hints of brightness

  • what is he playing ?

  • it's a telemann trumpet concerto for bflat pic. i forgot which one though.

  • hm....he was very much better in his younger davs...dunno...

  • I agree, but you've gotta kind of expect that. The chops only have a limited shelf-life and he IS 71 in this clip. Still great, though, you have to agree.

  • trapné ponižování,špatný synchron audio-video

  • věk nezastavíš...

  • OMG???

  • wow! he is even able to play whitout touching the instrument with his mouth!

  • Hahahahaha you're hilarious :D

  • I know this is information about me but nobodies going to be like, going through that much trouble to learn about me, BUT, he has my last name! That is so awesome, I play trumpet also so that is so cool

  • thats pretty cool but it should be longer.

  • maurice andré is unbeatable. thank you this video!

  • I don't know how the audio got out of synch witht he video. Sorry about that!
