I just saw The Color of Pomegranates and discovered very beautiful things. I have a friend from Armenia. Greetings from Colombia and thanks for sharing!
dear chantal, i,m sorry you didn,t know about kamancha before. friends below helped you i hope. as a musical person who features hodorkovsky, an additional piece of knowledge. thank you for interest
The "Kamancha" ist a musical string instrument comparable to the violin (well, not really). Its origin is Persian, the word means "little bow" ("kaman" = bow, "chah/chak/cheh" is a diminuitive)
Sayat Nova : A beautiful gift from God to the Armenian nation! As long as his wonderful creations are being performed and we listen to them ,he lives on.
Sireliner, mi harc unem: Do you also think that women shouldn't sing songs by Gusans? I mean not that I dislike women and I love female opera singers etc., but Sayat Nova, Gusan Ashot etc. should be sung by men.
sireli rammbock, you,re not the first to say that: sayat nova should be performed by a male. i can only say that this song is one of the peaks of nune yesayan,s work, at least i think.
Thank you gugulia. The beautiful music of Sayat Nova (and our troubadours) will stay for generations to come. It is a rich element of our Armenian beautiful culture. Hyem.
Nice video even I do not understand a single word as if I nearly understood whole song. I think Kamancha means kemence same in turkish :)) Who is singer?
pienso, que no debes provocar a nadie, cuando los armenios tenian KAMANCHA, los turcos no existian como nacion,la musica es de SAAT-NOVA,los turcos decapetaron a este gran ASHUG,por lo tanto respeto y silencio
you understood all but this sequence? it,s ok. it is, dear hoynanar, about the great mystery of knowing another person, loving but not knowing. which is possible and the case. we don,t have to know everything, do we. glad you,re analizing in great detail. thanks for the kind comment.
