  • Wow, she tried so so hard to make her comeback. Have to give her credit for that.

  • CRACK IS WHACK

  • I know this. Still a beautiful woman! I will miss her style. Sister could dress.

  • i dont understand how people could be so heartless and constantly critizing her voice.. I mean this woman gave her all everytime she was on the stage...

  • She looks so happy here. Almost like it was a relief to have a good vocal performance. And you could see all the dancers, background singers and musicians rooting for her to succeed. :) No it wasn't Whitney in her prime but she was DOING it and doing it well. Give he some respect, people. RIP beautiful lady.

  • bad

  • Funny when your career is flying high everybody love you and when you hit a ruff patch everybody has something to say I think was is the greatest singer that ever Live. and your right be careful what you say it just might come back and bite you in the ass !!!

  • We know nothing about details of her life and its experiences. And to judge anybody we not in the right, especially such person as it!

  • Whitney started looking more and more like her Mama Cissy. Sing girl!!!

  • fuck me she look a right state!

  • she didnt look good

  • :(

  • i lovwed whitney good bad and the ugly,,,,,,, or whatever the case maybe , in my eyes she will always be my all time favorite, forever!!!!, we all are human, and we all have faults,,,,,,,,she was a diva and still will be in my eyes,

  • @granprix49; thanks for your nice comment. I totally agree!

  • I LOVE ALL OF WHITNEYS STUFF. LOVE YOU GIRL!

  • Maybe you don't know what it is to have an addiction...2-3 years off of what? When you depend on something it is only as long as it comes back devouring you. It's not her chords what needed to be cured and to rest. But something deeper inside. She has given to many much more than many can imagine.

  • shes putting on a good show not bad as people are making out

  • her voice wasnt the same as it used to be obviously but she never sang just medioker songs. she always was screaming. her voice was always workin to the limits. and to do that all the time while on tour year after year.. its bound to take an unfortunate toll on her vocals. and it did. but she left behind splendid music for all to enjoy. lets just remember the good things and speak possitive...;)

  • Whitney was Neva bac on drugs but due to the long time from the use of her voice she lost it, she eS atom on getn it bac but unfortuabtely didn't live long enough its sad to see dat ppl really song leave ppls past n the past.......

  • She was back on drugs and had lost his voice. There was nothing else to do, Whitney had closed his career, but now we know she is in a better place.

  • @keko1239 how d'you know?

  • @keko1239 You have nothing to prove that.... 1st from someone that has experience in singing, she didn't have enough time between completing rehab and starting a new album.. she should have taken atleast 2-3 years off, done like a small non-musical movie to generate revenue, and concentrated on training her voice.. that way she would have been able to come back strong... you have no idea what portion of this concert this was... it could have been near the end..

  • Honestly..I luv it how everybody wnts to bash her..I would luv 2 see some of ya @ the age of almost 50 get up on stage and sing day in day out..smh..hope the lord hs mercy on yall critizing..she still sounds great to me!

  • She sounded horrible here. How could she think that she could make a come back sounding like this? She needed help and no one was there for her. How sad is that.

  • @Truthrevealed21 well, yes there was a voice change but she could still sure sing whether this video was good or not. Going on tour puts strain on the voice so it may tire with some time but that doesn't mean after a rest it won't sound good

  • @ena1rume

I believe Bobby Kristina will be the next great singer. She has a wonderful voice. She has recorded herself here on youtube singing one of Adele's songs.

  • @Truthrevealed21 nope!

  • @Truthrevealed21 Everyone loses their voice as they age. Its tough but thats part of aging and in Whitney's case smoking and drugs didnt help. But no matter what she was still and always be one of the most stellar voices of the modern era! No doubt about it!

  • @mrfrogbutt1

Bullshit. Patti Labelle still sounds the same and so does Barbara Striesand, just to name a few. You lose your voice through smoking and not taking care of yourself. She used to have a stellar voice, but she fucked that up with drugs and not taking care of herself.

  • the poor woman was pushig close to 50 years old and everyone wanted her to sing like she was 19 again. How many 50 year olds can do ANYTHING they did when they were 19 let alone sing? Yes she made mistakes and added to the ruin of her voice but people didn't have to be so cruel when she couldn't do what she use to do. to me those are fly by night fans.

  • careful people what you say and how you say it because when you do good you get good and when you do bad you get bad. The horrible things said by morons will come back in time to bite you in the ass. The world would be a better place if respect for others and one's self was a top priority. We are all weak to something in our lives and to judge one by their shortcomings and not their triumphs tells me humanity is going to hell in a hand basket.

  • @oroborossnake Thank you....you said it well!!!!

  • @oroborossnake amen

  • @oroborossnake BRAVO!..actually humanity is going to Hell!

  • @oroborossnake WELL SAID...I could not have said it any better!!

  • @oroborossnake but does it make me a bad person to honestly say that it was bad?

  • @Jeemdify no it doesn't make you a bad person. You gave an honest opinion on what you heard. Others heard something different. That's what makes us human. It's people that say very cruel things that shoudl watch what they say. Your opinion is important its the way we give it that makes the difference.

  • It's so sad that vocal cords age along with our faces and bodies. Of course, coke drainage probably adds to the layrangitis problem. R.I.P. baby girl.

  • why oh why whitney did they make u tour??? She ought to have stayed home away from the vultures and open channels of unkind comments... girl, u are safer out of this world yes...

  • Does anyone ever stop to think that she may have had polyps on her vocal cords? drugs don't take your voice like that or make it sound like that, raspy. She still sounds great and WAY better than anybody singing on radio these days.

  • @meboneme1 i wondered that too....

  • @meboneme1 @Barryt60 If a vocalist don't be careful and don't have proper training, straining ones voice can do serious damage. Whitney had one of the best voices ever but he way she sang probably wore her voice out. I'm sure the drugs played a little role as well though.

  • she's not even SINGING the song, just repeating certain phrases over and over, avoiding high notes because she can't hit them and she knows it. Her singing career was over long before she was over.

  • The Dancers had more Energy :(

  • tanbellaaaateextrañareeeee

  • Billie Holiday, Janis Joplin, legendary talents had weaknesses and struggles, like all of us, but at that time people had a sense of decency and respect, not to be hatefull and tear people down. When you do that, especially over someone dying, it says more about YOUR lack of class and YOUR weaknesses than it does hers. Every fool out there thinks they are important ebcause they can trash a great artist. I'd rather be Whitney for 48 years than you for 1 minute.

  • Besides drugs, she also didn't exercise much or watch what she ate. The flabby arms and protruding belly tells everything.

Celebrity or not, young or old, male or female, black or white or any color, we must keep our bodies in shape and not let ourselves go.

  • She sounded great to me. Her voice was still strong for the most part in this video. She was a spectacular performer. Prayers for her daughter, Bobbi Kristina.

  • @PKStefanini Yes it was and she probably would have come back fine if they didn't put her on such an intense show tour. They should have had her just start slowly doing single shows a few number and build her back up. A full fledged tour was too much and most of the time it's too much for even those that are younger and not recovering and trying to gain their voice back. I think that was a fatal move on her management's side. I think her voice would have come back completely.

  • @LEDANCETHERAPY I mourned that voice long before she died and it was silenced. I truly believed it was gone for good. Now watching and actually listening to the post voice destruction tours and performances,i noticed that she still had some of that potential left. I think she needed to get in shape, her longs were certainly under a lot of pressure and her heart seemed under stress as well. The throat i think, could have been healed in time. Rest and lubrication. It lacked suppleness.

  • @fireserpent26 I knew she could heal it. Look at Natalie Cole; she did drugs for years and was able to come back and regain her voice. I think she is at peace now and for that I am happy. She gave us so much even at the end. What guts it took to complete the entire tour even after all the boos and negativity she received. At the end of the day, she was a true professional and I respect her for that.

  • @fireserpent26 Right, the potential was there, but obviously needed some work. But also, it was as if she was not hearing herself.

  • @fireserpent26 With intense vocal training, Whitney might have been able to get better. The video clearly shows it wasn't just vocals but that Whitney needed to get back in shape physically as well. However...we will never know how things might have been. Very tragic end to such an amazing singer at the height of her career.

  • @PKStefanini Ohhh come off it, she frigging even coughs at the start. Only one other Singer this bad and thats MEAT LOAF

  • @PKStefanini her middle range got stronger than it was in 90's, unbelievably powerful, she also showed that in live performance "when you believe". critics says it's because she had a tough life.

  • FALLING APART and nobody told her a thing. She sounds like shit and this is an easy song.

  • @JhonathanFree how was this a easy song? she was hitting some big notes in parts

  • She could have chosen to stay home, but she needed the loot after putting millions in her lungs. Too bad her choices left her sounding like that.

  • hopeless compared to the old Whitney (younger) Whitney. It's not her age either, she was still young. She sounds short of breath, maybe this was a hint of future to come.

  • Apparently, she sounded like this the entire tour. Shame on the Tour Managers and others who wanted her to go on like this, for the sake of money, knowing full well the audience was getting jipped at 170 bucks a ticket. The backup singers blow her away, for god's sake.

  • I'm sorry but this is not the Whitney I grew up with. She sounds awful and needs a better girdle.

  • I don't want to remember Whitney like this....that was not a good performance but she did others better.

  • it really shows in these clips that her time was over.its so sad to say,but its the truth.compared to what she used to be and what drugs and the fast living lifestyle can do.i can't believe her management team let her up on stage in this condition.they to obviously didn't care.RIP whitney

  • wow!!! good to see recent performance from her.. that she indeed went back on stage with her voice... no one can replace you Whitney!! we will miss you.. I wish there was somebody or a friend there with you to encourage you while you were alone... it's hard to live when people criticize you... God bless you...

  • ...no energy..

  • The moral is "Don't do Xanax and take a bath."

  • I think she sounds great here !!..not one of her better dresses she's ever worn...but so what

  • oh no, i'm in that strange part of youtube again...

  • drugs

  • ONE SHOW OUT A WHOLE CAREER OF SHOWS? GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK

  • SHE'S MUCH OLDEER TOO GIVE HER A FUCKING BREAK HAS ANYONE NOTICED HOW HUSKY STREISANDS VOICE IS ? THEY GET OLDER THEY HIGH NOTES GET LOST FROM YOUTH THIS IS A FACT EVEN WITH THE GREAT SOPRANOS THE GET A "DARKER" QUALITY TO THE TONE OF THEIR VOICE

  • She did not loose her voice, don't know why they are telling this in the news.

    RIP, Whitney.

  • : - (

  • I feel really bad for her.

  • First Amy, then Etta, now Whitney

  • A bad performance by Whitney is still better than Lady Gaga's best performance

  • @warrensmitchell - no need to be rude.

  • @steve51704000 Not rude. Just positive.

  • RIP :(

  • SHE WAS ALWAYS BEEN THE QUEEN IN ITALY!!!!!!!

  • beautiful ending !!!

  • haar tijd is geweest

  • ITS SOO FUNNY THAT PEOPLE ARE LEAVING ANGRY COMMENTS B/C WHITNEY CHOSE TO SMOKE DOPE AND RUIN HER VOICE...LMFAO....ANYONE WHO IS STILL DEFENDING HER AFTER SHE DID THIS TO HERSELF IS CLUELESS AND HILARIOUS JUST LIKE HER:)LMAO

  • Mega Bomb!!! love you,Whitney!!!

  • She should sing some Amy Winehouse songs, if she can.

  • i love when she dance !!!!

  • my only complaint with whitney is, yea we all know she doesnt sound the same and neither do many of the divas as they get older, but at least keep the melody of the song as you sing so the crowd can sing along...keeping the melody is key whitney.

  • She has no shame!!!!!!!!!

  • that dancer thinks he's michael dancin up on whitney like that

  • Whitney sounds great here. I don't see an epic fail at all.

  • She sounds like a beat up dog

  • She should make new songs that are not too demanding on her voice anymore. She is and always will be a singer, but tone it down. Good to have you back Whitney, nonetheless.

  • Is she actually singing? It sounds more like some sort of declamatory yodeling combine with intermittent yelps. For her own sake, I wish she had just gone off somewhere and opened that fruit drink stand she was telling Oprah about.

  • divaaa

  • She sounds much better than she did on the Morning Show, I wanted to cry for her

  • baby you need to just take this song out of your set list. you dont have the pipes for it anymore unfortunately

  • terrible whitney.....go out gracefully lady.......

  • no doubt she's still beautiful..

  • her voice is not the same as before she's young... but inspite of this i'm still her very very proud and great fan

  • she's not pregnant... she just got fat that's why

  • STRAORDINARIA!

  • This sounds really bad.

I love Whitney and would still go and see her, BUT she is crap at singing and if she hadn't done drugs she would still be able to make a nice sound.

  • she sounds like shit

  • I will always love Whitney but it just goes to show you what drugs will do! Why Whitney ever decided to start doing drugs I'll ever understand, althoguh I do understand addiction, but my God she had the best voice of all time and she has lost it. I believe if she had never met and married Bobbi Brown she would have never gotten involved with drugs, this is just my opinion! To see Whitney perform today simply breaks my heart!!!

  • I read that she has chronic enphasema quite bad and went on steroids to help her breathing. That is why she has such a bad caugh and out of breath so much. The steroids enlarged her mid section. BUT, She still has it going on, and I freakin love her no matter what.

  • that garbage: paunchy, ugly and did not sing shit ... she takes the stage! who paid to see it, my God!

  • Woow !!She was great!! When I watch this video! I keep faith that her voice will get back one day! She's just amaiiiiiizing!

  • wow so bad, why is she still charging people money to see her sing live??

She needs to stop singing her old songs because she can't sing them properly anymore, and i would rather listen to her back up singers...........

  • @MundyArtStudio The fact that she's Whitney...Houston she IS singing HER songs "properly"... What? ALLLLLL of those in the audience are tonedeaf for CHEERING after the performance??

  • I suggest she redo her music in a jazz fashion that will suit her lower register now she is older.

  • wat a tour...i'm a whitney houston fan...wat a waste...stealing people's money...one bad performance after the other...Shame

  • @MegaYann12 You aren't a fan.... YOu would know that Whitney THOUGHT her voice could hold out night after night. Obviously, it couldn't but with fans really wanting to see her and committed dates--"the show must go on" Get a clue.

  • @MegaYann12 ,,,she's not stealing thier money, they're giving it to her! They know very well what the reviews are but yet they show up time after time. What you fail to understand is that it's not about her voice right now but it's about the legend. They knewl what they were in for!

  • she cannot be considered as "ex diva" because of her very hard momment in life! She's still great and certainly one of the geatest legend ever!! Because of I know what passion mans! She is a Diva forever

  • I STILL LOVE HER.SHE GAVES A BIG CONTRIBUTION IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY..THAT'S LIFE SOMETIMES FAILED.WE'RE ALL NOT HAVING A PERFECT LIFE...THEREFORE I'M STILL HOPING FOR HER TO BE RECOVERED...

  • What a hot mess! I love it!!

  • Thank god she went back to rehab.

  • divaa

  • @uei9844 in my opion unfortunatly ex diva :-(

  • @ambassadorsworld she is and always will be look at what she gave the world.

  • @ambassadorsworld Ex DIVA but a NEW FAT MILF!!!

  • @ambassadorsworld LOL....mine too!!!

  • @ambassadorsworld You really are a douchebag! Seriously, she comes back on a full tour and you watch these recorded videos that are from a person sitting around screeming people. They don't capture the live experience not to mention any sound quality, if that even possible and your going to say that crap? Be a critic all you want but look at the resources your getting it from. Take your "feeble" little opinion and shove right in your ass!!!

  • @MOZ1175 I notice you are a very intelligent person ... but the "douchebag" actually made the video and was at the concert !!! Nice dog by the way maybe you should take him for a walk more often so that you can calm down ;-)

  • @ambassadorsworld diva forever, in this turner she had emphysema, imagine if you were not! in 2011 you saw her singing "i look to you" to Kim? take a look in her voice and then you tell me!

  • @ambassadorsworld you said it right EX

  • @uei9844 Yes, she was. But she royally lost it. However, her legacy will not be diminished. This aspect of her career would just be a footnote to balance an otherwise astounding career. She's still very beautiful... But her voice now... I don't know. She needs material that suits her already frail voice. If I were a record producer, I'll put her next to jazz musicians, and put some what's not lost, the sensuality of her newly raspy voice, to good use.

  • @Rhopoe ...I don't think she has much of a legacy. Her talent was always weighed down by that Michael Narada Walden and his haphazard material and production style. And although she has an incredible voice and vocal dynamics, she has never much made a personal connection with her material, especially the early stuff.

  • @911insidejo8 A tough critic!– I like you. True, she never wrote her own material (much like that atrocious Celine Dion) & her greatness is solely based on her terrific vocal technique. I agree with you on her not having much of a connection with her songs. (Her "I Will Always Love You" live performances always had her smiling on the achingly poignant parts) But really, I do believe she will leave behind a legacy. Surely her influence can be felt in many pop vocalists topping the charts today.

  • @Rhopoe ...yeah, I'm tough alright! But I give her credit, she is an amazing technical singer and she is astonishingly beautiful and her presence brought the onlslaught of Mariah Carey, Celine Dion and others. It's kind of a pity though that someone as naturally gifted as Whitney Houston couldn't channel her talent the way that someone more moderately talented like Madonna did. Against all odds Madonna's output has held up better!

  • @911insidejo8 Right– about Madonna. Madonna had some great pop gems, but she's more than just a pop-tart, in the true sense of the word, she is a cultural icon. She is a visual/performance artist, provocatrix, & song writer. Houston is none of these– except that she's got this voice. She didn't take care of it & that's a damned shame– I doubt we'll hear something as astounding anytime soon– like we'll never hear another Callas again...

  • @Rhopoe ...We agree!

  • @Rhopoe Jazz? That's a good idea I never would've thought of that.

  • @phalanx237 I was thinking of the old Billie Holiday– w/ clear, powerful voice– to the druggie-Billie, her later years when she just lost all her vocal power, & a lot of her beauty. Same with Ms. Houston. Their voices were weaker later on, raspier. But Billie's later Verve recordings, I believe– "Lady in Satin"-years– had a sensuous, pained expression absent in her earlier years. Ms. Houston could use the same repertoire.
