Sorry, I dont wish to be mean.. but you cannot record a synth demo using your phone.. the MS2000 has an awesome rich full tone..and my ears are bleeding. Anyone looking for an MS2000 demo search for jexus..
I dont care what anyone says. this is a great Demo, as Demos Go. If you Don't like it, why watch it?. we should encourage, Well done, I hope you get another Korg soon. i have one too. It was this Demo that, inspired me most, in getting one, in the first place. Thanks for sharing. Lo L .
How the fuck is anyone supposed to know how the synth sounds when you record it through the cameras shitty built in mic? Youre a nice guy, but professionally.. professionally, were done.
Honestly, this video was done when I knew nothing about synths with my only intent being to have this for myself to look back on. If anything, let this be an example of what someone new to synthesis can learn with only a bit of patience. But shitty built in mic or not, these things are sick, and addicting.
aww thats AWESOME!! dude, i completely regret selling that beast, and i totally see myself picking up another one sometime down the road. i kept the microkorg which is great for a number of reasons, but as i've learned more about synthesis and everything, this thing just oozes with instant tweakability. rock on!!
damn, I just bought mine a few hours ago after watching this vid. That's crazy yours is gone now. People on youtube like a vid but leave something stupid and negative anyway. I don't get it. How can one be a fan of good music and say this was bad? Anyway, I grabbed a ms2000b off craigslist for $350. I highly recommend searching for another.
jackmybody. It was things like startrek, and Thunderbirds, that, made me get into synths, as a child I was fasinated by The starship enterprises control pannel with all the flashing lights, and buttons and, controls. And the often eary sound effects. just bought one of these babies, Iv'e gone off Roland, Had a juno G, sounded so dull in comparison, dont believe the hype. Think ill, stick to Korg from now on, great Demo friend. I would'nt know where to start. LOL .
Indeed, so many things outside of music made me want to get into the gadgets and synths. I was fascinated by the movie tron, so my studio, in the darkness with synths and gear lights glowing, get me in that inspired zone. I know exactly what you mean. It's cool knowing people all over the world share the same interests and are inspired by the same things, sometimes I think it's just me.
hey, sorry for the late reply, I forget which preset i used and sold the 2000 a while back so i can be certain, it was a string for sure....the "effects" part of it was just messing with more knobs than i could handle and hoping it came out alright. Didnt really know much then.
That is a heady synth to program, especially if you are new to synths. If you learn that one you will easily understand others in the future. A good way to get started is to turn off any delays and flangers, phasers, and arppegiators so your know what the oscs and lfos is actually doing. Most of the modulations are in the lfos affecting the osc pitch, filter, amp, pan, pwm,eg and it might even have lfos for the lfos. I dont remember if they do or not. Good luck!
Just to let you know, Eleton, the MicroKorg is a piece of shit. It plays itself. It incorporates shitty (as in barely controllable) parameters. (READ: its a synth for n00bs, or someone that simply has no skill.)
The MS2000/b is a fully controllable analog modeling synth. You can adjust every freaking parameter. It also includes many more synthesis techniques. The MS2000 is designed off the old analog ms-20, as well as some of the other older korgs.
lol man...sry :P Accidentally hit the wrong "post comment" button...didnt realize I was replying to your post :) Kudos on the MS-20 man, I'd kill for one :(
"It also includes many more synthesis techniques."
What do you mean? I agree on the number of knobs, but it has the exact same sound engine as the microkorg. I went for the MS 2000 for the pitch&mod wheel, the looks and the hands on tweakability.
Made a very realistic simulation of scratching vinyl records yesterday. Should have saved that one!
It's got 2 LFO's, and they're patchable, as well as some other parameters.
The hardest thing for me isto turn these things OFF, I often end up getting more modulation than I asked for and have to go through stuff finding what is left on :).
I like the synth, but you have to treat it as a synth and not as a preset&alter thingy. Build sounds from scratch and you'll find miracle sounds! Never what you looked for, but anyway.
Hey guess what nerdcore? Get the korg legacy cell, it comes with a mini ms-20 with computer software or you could also get the software version of legacy cell. I downloaded the demo on korg website and it was awsome, my favorite performance is "Undersea Pad"
lol, yeah i heard about the group, but hey guess what?
get the power tools for synthesizer programming you will be a master synthesizest in now time, you'll be learning a bout, osc, filters,eg and effects, but it at amazon
Umm, lately I've been tinkering with the whole digital recording stuff...Don't get me wrong though, I don't have any experience with any of this...Most of what I'll post is just from practice and experimenting. I could give you a really cool link to a yahoo group specific to the MS2000 but I would suggest reading over the manual, I myself have about 20+ times.

I liked it. I'm convinced on buying one now. The sounds are perfect for electro, and the flashing lights look like star trek. Nice board.
