  • thx

  • Hiya, I have one of these, in fact it's the second one now the reason is because I thought the first one was buggered because when I air play music from ipad, it kept stopping and starting but the new one is the same. I have since upgraded to ipad2 and yep same problem. Here's the strange bit, it works fine when I air play from my iMac i7, also I have had the same querk with my apple tv2. Have you heard of this phenomena? Oh and the schoolmaster paerthraj11 , ten bucks says he/she'

  • good review, thanx:)

  • @RandomEntertainer If you're not planning on taking your Mac anywhere, then you might as well get an iMac. I have an iMac, but also ended up purchasing a MacBook for school. I take it with me to coffee shops. It's nice to have something to take w/ you. Good luck! Have you made a decision yet?

  • hahaha... the word is ROUTER, plz stop saying ROOTER. You so funny... ;)

  • @wired500 actually we invented english mate so its you who is the one that is saying it incorrectly! jk

  • @sawhnyk ROUTER, not rooter, because the device was invented in the States. Has less to do with who invented English. :)

  • @paarthraj11 It's using an existing word. "Route" is pronounced "root" in British English, thus a "router" is pronounced "rooter". A "rowter" is something you use to cut grooves and stuff into wood.

  • rooter xD router

  • I think my ancestors left England because they couldn't understand the English's English

  • why do you have that retarded plug on the end of it?

  • @MoldytoasterMedia European electrical voltage is 220, they need a converter

  • @MoldytoasterMedia in some countries, especially here in europe retarded plugs like the one in the video are used.

  • *updated soon* may 2011, no update.

  • so i just found out about this product. so if you get this, do you get wifi everywhere you go if you plug it in? sorry if thats a stupid qeustion.

  • Thumbs up for the Telus ad with the birds!

  • Hi...Can i link airpot express to a wired router(i have PC without wifi, not MAC),so i have wired and wireless connection.Wired to my PC and wireless to my mobile phone for example...HELP...!

  • i would expect at least some demonstration rather than just babbling on.

  • how can i combine this with my time capsule?

  • @MediSpring To do that you need the airport extreme base station, you then plug in your external hard drive into that. You cant use the express for hard drives.

  • He might be in Hong Kong or England, they are the only places to use this adapter

  • @thor3d29 he is in the UK :)

  • music is too laud

  • yo what kinda plug is that like idk if this is an older model but mine is a flip urs has that big ass thing sticking outa it pretty wierd

  • @melosher I don't think he's in America... I think it's a European Adapter Thingy (EAT).

  • @TheRecoveringBanker switzerland

  • i give you a 3 out of 10 for the review

  • Sounds like he knows what he's talking about but can't stand the music. I'm off...

  • fuck, i cant hear a thing!

  • Row-ter

  • stupid video,u can't turn down ur stupid music?

  • It is pronounced Route-ter.....not ROOTER.

Look like a nice thing to have though.

  • 4:54 DOH!!!

  • ten? my whole family uses around 5!

  • 4:54 FAIL!

  • @AppleHardware epic one, camera god bored of all crap he is saying

  • dont they have like usb wirless internet for modems ? like my mouse it still moves from like 10 meters away

  • music is very obnoxious

  • great review but if im in a hotel

and they have no internet wat so ever but a phone, could i use the phone soket as an internet source ?

  • Cheers good review

  • do u have to have a airport to get wifi on your mac?

  • @lewbowz12345 no you can use a mac with anything

  • Nice review, one question, if I like in a hotel room, the hotel has free internet ( but only with a cable ), can I plug the cable in the airport express en start using internet for example on iPod touch or iPad ?

  • @ilcool90 Yes.

  • Is there any use for this if im getting a iMac

  • the music is very distracting.

  • @Gilster85 porno music :-p

  • whats the max wi-fi range? does it have a better range than most d-link or linksys routers?

  • how about if the ethernet is in a form of USB, can it be plugged there for internet?

  • do u need to have an existing internet connection or not?

  • Can you just plug it into a wall and get instant wifi? or do you have to use a ethernet cable. Say i have a mac. Can i plug 1 end of the ethernet cable into my computer and the other into the airport express, then plug the express into any nearby outlet. then proceed to set it up using airport utility? an answer would be much appreciated

  • irritating music. Turn if off!

  • so let me try and get this straight. you would only need those blue cords that plug from your laptop to the Airport Express to get your internet or can you just plug the airport express into the walls with no cords attached and your laptop can have wireless internet? or am i missing something, please help im so confused im not sure to get express or extreme. all im using the wifi for would to be in my room our my beach house or maybe a friends. I dont need anything special i just need wifi

  • @gracebauer1234 You need a modem. You can't just plug this into your wall and get wifi, You NEED A MODEM!1 This is just the router, So you plug your modem into the router using ethernet, And then you have wifi. Just plugging it into the wall won't work as there is no source of internet. You will have a wifi network, But you won't have any internet on it, Which makes it pointless

  • @gracebauer1234 You still need a modem to supply internet, This is just a router which sends your internet from your modem to more computers. So you need 2 devices to get internet.

  • say i took this thing to a resort and plugged it into a place with no internet, will this give me internet?

  • @italiankid14 No this just makes YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION WIRELESS. It doesn't give you internet or anything, It isn't mobile broadband, It is a router, a router is something you plug into yout modem to make your internet go from a single output to one wired computer, To multiple computers, And a wireless router sends it to multiple computers but wirelessly

  • wicked review

  • can it handle a who;le house i mean a small house?

  • @kathen111 It goes pretty far, But still if there are more than 10 devices in the house that want to connect then it it won't work. BUT IT should work in a whole house.

  • by the part as he said that if i was in a hotel or another place....how can i get the internet without cables if i need a service provider???

  • @Benthaitakeaway He means to cables to your computer, there will still need to be one cable into the router, Which is the ethernet cable from the modem to supply the router with internet which it can send out to the computers and iPod's etc wirelessly

  • im might get one, do u need an original router like a lynksys for it to work?

  • hey, I was wondering how you can change your security settings. I have WPA active, but i want to change it to WEP to play my DS online, and will affect my current online for my Wii and PS3? Also my computer?

  • @papercanfly when you setup the thing with a mac.. its on apple's website if you want detail... oh and it shouldnt really disadvantage your consoles but make it faster... =]

  • Wonderful Review

  • damn it british accent...

  • great review..thanks a lot

  • when you do the conversion, it's only a little bit more expensive here in the U.S. Like $5.00

  • @ReviewMagician sigh... yeah apple have a better deal in the us due to the fact of shipping, im really pissed with this and i really want apple to stop hoarding there products globally... try australia and see why its even worse there...

  • it's over $100 dollars here in America.. what a rip-off!

  • @ucanttuchdis5678 It's $182 here in New Zealand!

  • Oh, great Airport Express, why must you cost so much?

  • youre gay

  • basically, can you take this anywhere you go and it'll give you wifi?

  • yeah

  • actually only if you have an ethernet connection that plugs up to the airport and then sends the signal

  • @origamiguy106 no you have to plug it into a ethernet cable, i thought that too. It would be sick if it could do that though, but thats in the future.

  • @origamiguy106 It will give you wifi but not internet unless you plug it into a modem or internet source

  • @MrGCFilms Any wireless router will work with macs, So you're previous router will be fine

  • next video, don't put any background music !

  • LOL

    LOL

    LOL

    ur camra fell down terrord

  • The music is too loud!

  • ur ass is to loud

  • can u plug a Ethernet cord into it and connect to your desktop computer, to get internet? my desktop doesn't have wifi.

  • @mrappreviewer7 ive been looking into this, apparently it couldnt when released, but they have updated it so it can.

    eg. [router]>>>wireless>>> [ap.express]----ethernet---[pc]

im planning on getting one for my xbox, as the wireless n adapter for it is £55 and so its not much more, but has many more uses.

  • Somehow, out of the 5 reviews i watched. 4 of them, shows only the item and the reviewers hands. THey don't even let us see how it plugs in, how it performs or something. They just fidget around with it while blabbing away. Visual is better than audio ok.

  • i am using this as an extender to reach the far corners of my renewed home but somehow only one computer is willing to use the signal while another one thats identical tot he one that works wont work!! can anyone help?

  • I still dont understand what it is. Is it a wireless router, or just an extender?

  • it is wireless router, but u can use like like extender too)

  • @scarey2k7 Both

  • Ok. This is what you do

You have a router that is provided by your ISP

If you do not have a wireless router then you hook your ethernet up to this and it becomes wireless

if it is wireless then it will be an extender and you can use airtunes and wireless printing.

  • What a silly review - I'm sure the original posterr had something useful to say but can't hear half of what he's saying over the dumb music he decided to include in the review

  • can i use this as a repeater (signal Extender) from my belkin n1 adsl2+ wireless modem router

  • can i attatch this to my pc and use it as a wifi adapter??? because my dlink adapter is broken

  • i have a time capsule but i think i might get this for when i am traveling

  • ok, great, nice, small. So, this device works with a xbox 360 on it?

i mean, buying a xbox wireless antena course?

  • yea ofcorse!

  • Yes and No from what I have heard. On the apple website there is a question about using it with a 360 and many of the comments said it would only work as an extender for a current router.

  • can this also work if you already have the time capsule? :)

  • can anyone tell me will if for instance i make my macbook sleep does the express maintain its wifi wihile my macbook is sleeping?

  • this device is connected to the internet via your main router, dsl or cable modem. just go to apple's website it has plenty of tutorials.

  • also, dont most routers already work with mac and pc?

  • how can you just plug it in and go? where does it get the internet from, dont you need to plug it into a modem?

  • does airport express work with out dsl modem, like can i just plug it in and use it?

  • do u get more watts or volts from that plug than an american plug? Like could u use an adapter?

  • hahaha that outlet is so ugly, it doesn't even fit with airport express. luckily i don't live in england...

  • oh no.... the adapter... its UGLY!

  • turn down the music

  • @davidsega4a

Exactly, could't hear what the heck he was saying.

  • what the point of the music

  • What kind of plug is that?!?

  • @JohnRyanDub Who flagged this comment it just answers MriBackup's question

  • UK's plug

  • Have the version before this, the one without the N-technology. Had it since 2005 and it was my main wireless point in the house until last november. It's amazing that this little box can do all the features. The Express is now switched with an Time Capsule and instead I use it to send music from my MBP to different speakers around the house. Controling the iTunes in my MBP with app Remote on my iPhone. Also use Airfoil to stream Spotify around the house. Fantastic!

  • its a wireless router , it routes ok.

  • I plug an ethernet into my airport express then plug it into my xbox to get xbox live. And it is still "wireless" if that makes any sense. It's better than buying microsoft's wireless adapter.

  • dude are u serious thats freakin awesome!

  • dont u need to plug in the ethernet cord from the modem to get the wireless signal

  • No, I have a separate modem and router. My airport express is set to be a WiFi signal extender but also doubles as a media center.

It has three plus on it, one ethernet, one 3.5mm jack, and one usb. --- I plug one end of the ethernet cable into the airport express and the other end into the xbox 360 and that's how I get xbox Live....anywhere in the house. --- If I want to use wireless airtunes, I plug one end of a cable into the 3.5mm jack and the other end into my stereo system.

    Got it?

  • thanks man i really appreciate it

  • nah because its wi fi, you can use erthernet but its more confusing

  • is this a router

  • no, it's just an access point. It'll create a network, but you can;t use it to network Ethernet cables.

  • look im a real mac lover but how does the airexpress work exactly

  • Just got one for $50.

  • whered you get that deal?

  • thats heavy 69 pounds

  • its 79 on the apple wesite

  • hahahahahah!

  • how can a collage dorm be so big that it doesnt reach the kitchen? i can walk down the block 5 houses and i stll get signal.

  • DUDE, it doesnt matter, it your files will transfer VERY Slowly if wireless, ( hard drive plugged in) AND it will take up a lot of your monthly GB

my max is 60, once i use up more than 60gb its like 1$-1gb

  • "rooter" lol

  • is this good for gaming too ??

  • Can you do an indepth video on the different things you can do with this product as i'm thinking of getting one to make my printer wireless and to stream music around the house, thanks!

  • this is a wireless router isn't it? why should i choose this and not airport extreme?and on the airport extrem, what would i use 4 ethernet ports for???

  • can u plug a computer into it and get internet or is it only wireless

  • Yes you can, but that means the airport express will have to be connected to a wireless network.

  • can i plug this into my modem and get wireless?

  • do you just plug it in or you have to hook it up to your computer

  • @mitch625 i Agree i am from uk and i love uk apple we r the best whoot

  • Yes u can use this for internet on your wii u can use and wireless router and connect it to your wii and go onnline

  • can i have wifi on my wii with this

  • Yep

  • dude I love your vids, I really do but please DO NOT put these ANNOYINGS musics in the background.

  • Yeah the music is pretty gay!

  • the uk plu is FUGLY well no duh ALL UK DESIGN SUCKS

  • you do know most of the apple products are designed by a british man lol

  • uhhh Jony Ive (the cheif design guy at Apple) is British

  • Even though I'm british I do kind of agree on the bulkyness of our plugs, Although quite nieve to say all uk designs suck

  • OH GOODNESS O_O. I had no idea that power plugs looked like that in the UK, I'm so sorry...

  • Do you have to pay any monthly fees

also you just plug it into the wall and have a WI-Fi Hotspot right there right.

  • With this device I can get wi-fi anywhere? Just plug in the AirPort Express and connect to it on my laptop?

  • how do you use it to extend your wireless network?

  • You dont. My mate uses his windows pc on my wireless without installing any of the provided drivers. So this guys should keep you happy.

  • why is the AC connector so huge? this must be only in Europe or something, cause in the use, the AC connector is completely flush with the rest of the airport express casing.

  • They are HUGE in great brtain. Where mitch is from

  • yeah they are uber small here

  • Answer me this question. If you have an airport express and you have a ethernet cord hooked up to it but you want to extend your network, can you just plug another one in without having to use another ethernet cord? Does the airport automatically look for another airport extreme and start using its wireless?

    ~iPikee

  • Comment removed

  • it looks good. how much is it? is t worth the money?

  • Answer me this question. Why do you need airport and what does it do? Does it turn you Internet moden into a wireless router by plugging it in via Ethernet?

    ~Dibphoenix

  • yes it does, all you have to do is get your internet connection and connect it ti the airport and done

  • AirPort Express looks good

  • your new camera is pretty nice

  • Does that give you free internet or something? I have never had a router so i really dont know, well it wouldnt have much use for me cuz i don't have a laptop anyways, it is for laptops right?

  • No, you have to plug in a modem to it, then it changes that to a wireless signal. I'm not really sure, but I think thats right. I know for sure it doesn't give you free internet though.

  • does that only work with the mac

  • Its also works with PC

  • like the mac

  • how well does this compare to the airport extreme?

  • you can only connect to the Airport Express via wireless, but with the Airport Extreme, you have Gigabit Ethernet ports on it, so you can connect to it with an ethernet cable. Other than that, the only difference is that you can connect a hard drive to the Airport Extreme, but the Airport Express has airtunes and Extreme doesn't.

  • Great vid keep it up.

  • Your little panasonic camera can record in HD? or is it not little...

    if so thats crazy =/

    what version is it?

  • Hey.....Do you use the Panasonic Lumix for all of your HD vids now??

  • Yep. If it isn't HD it was recorded before i got the camera.

    Regards

  • Good review, BTW what's that song in the background? ;)

  • I love this! Bought it as soon as i could!

Sooo usefukl in student accomadation, it should come as standard!
