thanks Joe...comments like yours are exactly why I added all the 45's I have loved since I grew up in West Haven back in the 60's. The music has meant so much to so many people. Gotta keep it going!!
BP ROCHE..Thank you for posting all these great songs. What wonderful memories they bring back....May the sixties always live on in the great music ... Thanks again ..Joe D'Alessio
Growing up in New Haven and North Haven Ct I remember this group very well along with the NAIF, The Shags The Wildweeds and the Chosin Few. What a great era and what wonderful times. I'd go back to the 60's in a Flash.....
Growing up in East Have and being in a band "The Sounds Of Soul" from 1964-68. The Van Dyke Five bring back fond memories of the music back then. Drummer Russ Griffin sat next to me in many of my class at EHHS. I was glad to to have known him and be a part of that circle of the many good bands back then. Groups like Johnny Paris and the Variations, NAIF, The Sultans from EH. Yes it was a wonderful time. I love going back "Again and Again"
I love see these guys on you tube,,,art and tom juliano were brothers in law and my cousins,,see tom all the time,,,he was kind of shocked to find himself and they guys on you tube,,,,he is well and wonderful,,thanks tom for tuning my guitar last month,,love ya,,,D
I'm so happy that these songs have touched so many lives again and again!! I can see that I was not alone in what these songs did for me!! thanks for all the great heart warming comments.
This group is and always will be the best of the best. They played at my Junior Prom at Hillhouse High School in New Haven. My heart goes out to Frankie for leaving us so early in his life. He will always be singing in our "Rock and Roll Heaven".
Artie Van Dyke (DeNicholas) managed my band "Bridge" for five years. I had the opportunity to know The Van Dykes personally. They were an incredibly talented band. Tremendous vocals and live talent. Sadly, Frankie drowned in a swimming hole at a young age. The band kept on, but it was not the same. But whatever. This band has a very special place in my heart.
@toodeemo Have to find out who ths is..I was your roadie for a while back then and worked at Artie's Record Store on Campbell Ave as a kid before I went on to play drums for The Formation and fronted the band Majesty. E-mail me if you read this..rayzor423@aol.com I would love to hear from you. Thanx Ray Francis

Great sound from the early 60's.
I remember hearing this song and "Rock a Bye Girl" on the beach in Rocky Point Long Island, New York.
I believe they were a Connecticut group?
