this movie came out after beauty and the Beast by disney but I couden't help but notice in Francis first dream when the facless man was pulling him in to hell when he was gripping onto the bored he had the skull pupils like the villian from B&tB lol
In a way Scars death is a little more (understatement brutal. Claudanus has his stomach ripped open, but Scar is attacked and possibly eaten alive by Hyenas while a fire is consuming him. Talk about a slow and painful deathXD
Felidae is a dark tale of a cat's adventure in the murderous world. it's very gorey and sexual, nonetheless it was an amazing movie. With great animation, excellent art, and fantastic plot, plus it's quite original. It's very haunting, yet...it has something to it that just..drags you in. Though it can be confusing in just the smallest parts, it's easy to follow in others. I slightly regret watching the whole movie just now, and I probably won't forget it. But it was still good.
I LOVE the movie Felidae! (Even though I'm 11) Yes, I do see the similarities in the battle. There's this series called Kimba the White Lion and I've seen ALOT of similarites between the two. And Simba is the name Kimba exept the k is replaced with an s.
Frankly I think Felidae looks more realistic (okay except for Francis gutting 'Pascal'- I've seen cats fight and it looks more like the scene in Felidae than in TLK- and lions definately do not fight like that IRL. It seems that TLK 's scene was pure drama- The slow motion, the paw swipes being more like slaps to the face... Then again, TLK was definately meant for kids, whereas Felidae was targetting adults.
Claudandas was trying to take all the cats breed back to the origonall state!
He would try to talk to the cats before killing them to confront them on his point of view on the fact that they are all going to change due to naturally selected breeding and that it will take them back to their origins!
There's also the part where Francis beats his paw against Pascal, and that where Pascal beats him back(May be the other way around) and the same thing happens with TLK.
But either way it's just a random fight sequence. And the fire is to make it more dramatic.
Though, I wouldn't be too surprised IF TLK copied it, considering they already seemed to have copied a lot of stuff outta Kimba. However, I do still love TLK, Kimba, and think Felidae.... is okay.... It's just extremely disturbing |D
@silverclawwarriorcat Actually, Felidae and The Lion King were both released in 1994. The Felidae book, however, was published in 1989. Therefore Felidae was first.
It wasn't meant to put down either movie. I just noticed that there were similarities. They were made during the same year, halfway across the world from eachother, so it is, as I said, probably just cooincidence. ^^

I love how you cut the footage so that RIGHT after you see Claudandus getting eviscerated, it jumps to Simba turning away as if in disgust.

I love that movie, I didn't find it confusing either, though I've watched it lots of times now, and you notice something new each time you watch it
A rare and amazing animated movie <3

Honestly, that's hardly fair. Francis fought in a house, Simba on pride rock. It's a fire. And that's how all felines fight.
Felidae and TLK are great, but Felidae confused me a little. xD
