@acerr40 hi...my impression of marcella detroit is a wholesome and earthy person with a real talent. siohbahn fahey, i think, was jelous of her talent because, as can be heard, is an actual singer with pedigree and in contrast, miss fahey is not a great singer and to what extent her writing contribution to the bands hit singles is unclear. i think marcella got out coz siohbhan is a drinker/drug user and fucked up. Marcella was never recognised as much as she should have been. Too good.

@gregingram1970 Siobahns extent of songwriting credits for SS where plenty...check the credits of their 1st album for example.....you will find with the minimum of effort that Marcella wasnt a permanent part of the band when said album was released. As for Marcella not recognised as much listen to 461 ocean boulevard and Leon Russels 2nd album to realise this woman had enourmous talent recognised by some of the best in the buisness.....Marcella you are great

Marcy has released 3 albums - Jewel, Feeler and Dancing Madly Sideways which is available for dowload from Amazon - it is a more electronic album to her first 2 but is worth checking out. She has also released an album under her real name of Marcy Levy which is a blues covers album (but includes her own composition which she cowrote with Eric Clapton "Lay Down Sally") - this is also available for downloading from Amazon.

This song is about as far removed fromthe music I normally listen to ( 70's glam and hard rock) but the vocals are amazing,the lyrics relevant now as they were then and the production is fantastic.

There is an organ played in the track that makes the music feel organic and alive that makes it so much better than today's computer generated sound and generic artists.
