  • @frankie1089 we need to all find a way to bring back real rap like this

  • They're jokes 'cept Em

  • @frankie1089, because nowadays, No one puts in work like these guys did. These guys still rap even though they may not be in the spotlight anymore. A lot of these new artists don't stay consistent. All you need is someone who can produce, vouch for you, and get you hyped up and you can say whatever the fuck you wanna say and sell it. Thus, it's not about talent, more just about getting people hyped over dumb shit..This doesn't go for everyone though..

  • @EZA757

is there anything we can do as a society to "revive" good music, because i feel that today's music is only gonna get worse

  • @frankie1089 Well, keep it alive for one thing. I gurantee you, any middle schooler right now does not know who Wu-Tang Clan is or even Brand Nubian..shit, I'll take it back even further and go as far as 3rd Bass. Not that their expected to know, but these cats paved THE way for music of today. Plus. different time in society and in culture.

  • its still there...you just have to actively search it out......there are a shitload of good artists out there...a lot of small label southern calli hip hop is reaaal good

  • @kellen45

i know, but the world has to know about this music. i don't wanna have to spends hours searching for good music. What happened to the days when good music was found on the radio?

  • seems to me your not looking in the right place

  • @frankie1089 Why do keep saying HIPHOP is dead or died at some point...my ears continue to listen to good music...MF Doom, Apathy, P.U.T.S., Masta Ace, Killarmy, Hieroglyphics to name a few from a long list of good music...n its a very loooooong one too

  • @frankie1089 Good hip hop is still out there it's just not on the radio. Atmosphere, Soul Position, N.A.S.A., Deltron, you just gotta look for it.

  • @frankie1089 eminem's a badass!

  • @frankie1089 wtf are you on about eminem is one of the greatest rappers of all time. stop begging likes

  • @frankie1089 Eminem is very skilled, don't compare him to fake MCs.

  • @texaschizophrenic he WAS skilled :)

  • @frankie1089 how old are you, cuz i bet eminem's been telling the truth since you were in diapers. and now he's sold out; how's he using his fame? to draw attention to the economic collapse in detroit making videos featuring...oh wait - black people. em rocks and i appreciate him.

  • @frankie1089 hip hop hasn't died! thats why theres people like you and me listening to this kind of stuff everyday, and theres still tons of new stuff coming out on the regular that comes sick with it. sure, its a little hard to find, and at most partys, noone wants to hear it, but its fucking there!

radio hip hops been dead though

  • @frankie1089 That is the most pitiful list of Old School Rappers I've ever seen. Eminem, Soul Of Mischiefs, Heiroglyphs, Murs, Wu-Tang, Binary Star, etc. Lil Wayne = Old School? Really? He's a joke.

  • @frankie1089 Lil Wayne sucks.

  • @frankie1089 i didnt die god damn it check out Living Legends, Zion I, Mos Def, Brother Ali, Rawcotiks, PaceWon, Jazz Addixx, Prop Dylan, Diverse, etc!

  • probably one of the dopest music videos ever.........

  • HIP HOP WILL NEVER DIE!!! /watch?v=2z8QJf-DAhY

  • The Souls still have what it takes to save the world of True School Hip Hop. This track is proof, it will never spoil. West Coast Love from LA to the Bay, Compton to Oakland, 93 til Infinity, LA Underground!!!

  • souls of mischief/hiero was super popular with skateboarding/snowboarding culture in the 90's

  • seriously. when i went up to lake tahoe, i saw quite a few snowboarders with hieroglyphics stickers on their boards.

  • yeah for real, watch any Plan B skatevideo and there's a bunch of songs out of the Hiero camp in there. Mike Carroll skated to Casual, a few guys skated to Del. there's some more i can't remember

  • @mrkeekee DUDE. i just found out that Plan B came out with a signature skateboard for Del. i hella want one.

  • you know our steeeelo :) haha

  • what are these guys talking about? i dont understand what they say they talk about mediatation then get into some deep trippy shit haha its good tho

  • what's so hard to understand??? they are flowin' about smokin' herb then educating wack mc's on the art of rhymin... listen to madvillian's shadows of tomorrow. if medication's abstract to ya then shadows of tomorrow will leave you with ????? LOL.

  • @Kaliformula the wuailty is just pretty shitty so its hard to hear., its good though... kinda

  • how old are these guys

meditate to educate but first i got to learn how to mediatate to educate until then i cant educate cause i cant meditate yet

  • well meditating is easier than educating...so you're off to a good start

  • oh icic

  • i think they were straight outta highschool when they debuted in '93, soo..

  • shit so much talent for just 18 year olds

  • west coast rap kicks ass over east coast, east coast is too violent; less chill.

'Help me dig deep in the crates!' Anyone is welcome to come and give input. I need the help of all the real heads out there

Come join and help build the greatest hiphop/R&B database ever. Peace

  • NO I.D. All natural Cella Dwellaz Hiero Goodluck with the cause out

  • Normally I dont hear hip hop but souls of mischief are great

  • VVV it's the FORMULA.

  • this is the problem with hip hop. Bling was always a rapper's trademark. DMC had it, fuckin Mr. T had it. Then, something happened late in the 90s where everyone had it. Generally, all of these cats sucked on the mic. Fans of the music seemed to dig what was going on with it, they followed it, and it has de-evolved to this point. That first part might not be right, but this is: people love that shitty music. Companies made it, found out people like it, and they make more. It's a circle.

  • na thats a personal opinion cause people listen to old music listen to the lyrics and relate to the music and move to the beat cause the media doesnt cover them no more

  • yes, but why doesn't the media cover them anymore? because that's not what's selling, right? the bullshit you hear on the radio is what has a big market right now. And, companies continue to pump it out because, unfortunately, it has a fanbase. Or do you disagree?

  • thats why i dont listen to any of it. holy shit i just realized i dont listen to ANY music on the radio right now. na i agree. i think i like it better however without being in the media and on the radio cause u just listen to the messages in the music not wat other people say

  • It used to be that word of mouth, was the way to spread a real fanbase in hip hop. People would flock to see this new cat they heard about. Most real hip hoppers got started on corners and in open mic nights. Fortunately there are still some who keep it real. I heard something a while back, that on Jay-Z's fade to black, one cat said he was going to spit that radio shit until he had the money to do what he wanted on the mic. Why change your lyrics for green paper, just to change back? Dumb.

  • Dude, you were ripped when you wrote this, huh?

  • My opinion is, Real hiphop talks about real, true situations goin on the world, its informative, its up todate.. the real shit goin on in this world that hiphop ARTISTS started spittin about could noooway be alloud on the media as it would inform the nation with truth and it was bringin to many people together. hiphop is an art where you think origonal and freely.. shit the goverment want the exact oposit!

  • U couldn't be more right about that. Remember when NWA and similar artists were being outright CENSORED for their lyrics in the early 90s? Cuz the gov. didn't want truth about life in other facets of society to get out, they wanted to keep ppl living in their happy little bubble and behave like brainwashed robots, blind to the facts. The freedom of speech issue came into play too much so now they censor in a less "direct" way - pushing dumb music thus keepin the real hidden from sight ..

  • Bro you have my exact train of thought, i have said shit similar to this on other videos. its runs soo much deeper. peace mate

  • You don't have to talk about real shit in hip hop for it to be good. For example dr.octagon.

  • Whoever pasted that big fat dick thing should leave because if you actually listen to hip hop you would hate like that. and kanye west definitely made beats and mc'd way back in the day. Soulja boy isn't hip hop, he is rap, rap requires no flow and no lyrical skill at all but to be an mc (not a rapper") it requires some lyrical bliss and you can flow on the drop of a dime. And hip hop beats are amazing. Old school, New school, then rap.

  • That corrupted dude is a dumbass. An MC raps. Rap is a part of hip-hop, and will always be, along with graffiti b-boying and djing. I hate when people try to seperate hip hop and rap, that doesn't even make sense.

  • word up sun! krs1: Rap is sumthing we do, hiphop is sumthing we live.

    peace

  • Im not a soulja boy fan in the least but he is not the problem with hip-hop. Artists let the money dictate their music because everything is money-driven. That's why Mobb Deep signed with G-Unit and The Last Kiss is Jadakiss' worst album. The shit is commercial but the artists are underground. The club music gets all the air time so when you go to the club you don't wanna hear that shit. Now you gotta stay up til 3am to hear some real hip-hop.

  • why the fuck would people listen to li wayne or soulja boy if they can listen to something like this

  • I guess it's an age thing. We used to listen to this when we were younger and thought it was dope(i still think it is).the kids who listen to soulja boy now will probably say the same thing about the next generation of hip hop(if soulja boy can be classified as hip hop).

  • Yeah, but i mean listen to the lyrics of this song and then to the lyrics of a lil wayne song, that's a huge different

  • dope video

    who is riding?

  • Soulja Boy can eat a big fat dick

T-Pain can eat a big fat dick

Lil Wayne can eat a big fat dick

Flo Rida can eat a big fat dick

  • Yo you might be right or at least a group that matters. I always wanted to do this but don't have the name like Heiro and i never started my lesson to snowboard. I will though. can't wait to learn though.

  • i think it is... if you watch snowboard videos there's underground hip hop on most of them. but as far as hip hop videos go... a bunch of mc's dress like they're going boardin' but still film in the city =)

  • @fatmanmark

what does you being half white have anything to do with the ski hill part of the vid cool?
