I have a question.I just bought a new case with i7 2600k and all the other hardwares but I didnt bought the HDD.Can I use my old Hdd instead on my new processor 64bit?because my old comp was a 32bit or do I need to reformat my pc?will windows change my os to 64bit?
im looking for parts for a new build and wanted to know everything about the parts im planning on getting, of course all i had to do was copy and paste the model number on your channel search bar and you have a descriptive unboxing, your a freakin saint!
can someone tell me what socket is the best and why and what the socket really does? cause i have no clue and recently was told that i should not buy an LGA1366 cpu but i have no clue why please explain this. thanks in advance
hey man hopefully someone could help me . heres my specs
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, Asus P8P67 Evo Board ,i7 2600k,8gb Vengance 1600mhz , Msi R6870 Gpu , Patriot Pyro 120GB SSD , and 650 PSU .My question is .. Do i have a decent Rig? this is the first time i build my own and im just wondering what i can do to make it better!! Maybe upgrading from 8 to 16 gb ram? or better GPU? oh and im running all Stock Clocks. maybe if u guys can give me some links on OC. Or If u guys even recomend OC thanks!
is 4.6 ghz really that high? should i be concerned because i got my computer second hand and the previous owner overclocked the processor. i have water cooling but i don't know if i should turn down the clock or not.
@theundergroundforces you will have a 3FPS deference between the two, because the 2600k is just a 2500k with HT, and games don't use HT... so use the extra 100$ and get a better GPU.
Does overclocking a processor reduces its life span even if it's well cooled kept under 40°c most of the time? or are there other things else than heat affecting the processor?
@KULA198822 For air cooling, A Noctua NH DH-14, best Air Cooler on the market, but if you can't afford that, then a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus, or Evo, 2nd best air cooler on the market, IMO.
@KULA198822 I don't know myself, but after quick research, it might not. It probably will, but will most likely be a tight fit, so you'll be better off with a smaller cooler.
@xchimino2 Let me ask you. I just ordered an i7 2600k with an Gigabyte UD4 motherboard. I currently run a phenom x4 965 OC @3.8ghz. Along with a Radeon 4890 Lol. Crd a bit outdated card I built the rig 3 years ago. Anyways Did you switch from AMD or is this your first rig? The reason I ask is I got the 2600k along with a superclocked GTX 570. I wanted to know if you noticed a huge performance boost going from AMD if you did
my friend have a problem about the core 2 quad cpu because he can only use his computer about 13 hours only after that his computer will shut down and a blue screen appear..
@LowGasPricesHD my mum has a pentium d, and I have a computer lying around with a Pentium 4, but I never use that computer because it has a pentium 4 XD
@LowGasPricesHD lol i have a pc i mess around with that has a pentium cpu.. it runs at 233 mhz and has windows 95 on it, it isn't bad to be honest xD you can't play vids.. or new games (only realllly old games) but ey... i can use office software.. and play little games on it :P it is kinda fun to have.. but yeah.. it is really useless there days..
I never get Processor unboxings, utterly pointless, they all look nearly exactly the same. Just talk about the benchmarks performance TDP etc. :) No need to unbox.
@schabadas1 2600k is the better buy. The 2700k is just the 2600k with an extra 100MHz. If your getting a k-series processor, I'm guessing you'll be overclocking, so that 100MHz doesn't mean much at all. You might be able to squeeze out an extra 100MHz, but is it worth the extra $50? In my opinion, no. It's your call though. I was in your situation a few weeks ago also :D
Can someone help me? I'm buying a laptop from Dell soon, and IDK whether it's a 2600k, or a 2700k, or...i just don't know how to tell lol...the processor that i want to get is either an "Intel core i7 2760QM processor 2.40 GHz with Turbo boost 2.0 up to 3.5 GHz"
OR Intel core i7 2670 QM processor 2.20 GHz with Turbo Boost 2.0 up to 3.10 GHz...
Anyone mind filling me in? I'm a beginner at all this..Btw both are 2nd generation...
Guys my com spec Amd x4 965 3.4 ghz asus m5a97 pro 750 cm power supply amd 6850 toxic 2gb 8gb hyper X ram Should i change my processor to intel i7 2600k or change my graphic card to MSI 6950 overclock power edition ? :(
@adidam1706 Since this is the highest processor tied with the i5 2500K processor in the PC gaming industry, i would suggest the GTX 580 since you need a good GPU to go with a good CPU, or you can save up and get the GTX 590 in dual SLI, i think is the best of the best.
@TheFR3SHINATOR i chose Asus the P8Z68-V PRO first but when i read that the Z68A-GD80 (G3) and Z68A-GD65 (G3) has the new ivy and pci 3.0 then i change my mind and thought it would be better cuz maybe i can change my processor and the graphics card to the new gen :D what do u think?
@chingano I would still choose the Asus Motherboard if you are going to stick with the 2600K or maybe wait til the 2700K comes out on the 24th this month (the difference between the two is that there is a 0.1GHz speed ratio) I hardy doubt that the MSI board will be compatible with the new ivy bridge CPU because since the new ivy bridge will have a 1155 Socket while the ivy bridge will LIKELY have a 2011 Socket so you would have to look at a whole new motherboard with a 2011 Socket. Wait or buy:D
@TheFR3SHINATOR now i found a new motherboard :D:D:D ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3, Socket-1155 and i'll maybe stick with this one, btw the msi msi Z68A-GDxx (G3) boards are compatible with the new ivy brigde cuz they have support for 22nm tecknology and PCI 3.0 graphics card :D
@chingano Me personally, i'll be getting the new i7 3820 CPU Standard Mode - 3.6GHz (i7 2600K - 3.4GHz) Turbo Mode - 3.9GHz (i7 2600K - 3.9GHz) Sadly there won't be any on board Graphics but why would you not buy a graphics card with this high end CPU and it will be cheaper i7 3820 - $294 (i7 2600K - $317) but ive not seen any motherboards with the LGA 2011 Socket though. (Don't buy it if you want to overclock it though, you can't overclock it but i'm not an overclocking guy) :D
@chingano No i7 3820 is an LGA 2011 (just type "i7 3820 in Google and click the first link. It says that the socket is a LGA 2011) That is why i'm saying that the MSI board you were looking at will likely be incompatible with the Ivy Bridge/Sandybridge-E CPU :D
@chingano by 1600Mhz i take it you are talking about DDR3 Memory, yes you can run 1600mhz, my friend has a 2600K and he has got 16GB Corsair Vengeance 1866MHz and i've change my mind, i will be getting the 2700K, i just figured out that the LGA 2011 motherboards are priced around $400 which is out of my price range :D
Do you actually get to keep these products or do you just review them?

I'm a serious fail... I have a easily over-clockable system but i don't over-clock...
My Specs:
1. Corsair 800D
2. Asus Maximus IV Extreme P67
3. Intel i7 2600K
4. Corsair H100
5. Asus GTX580 Matrix ROG
6. Corsair AX1200
I payed $2500+ for my system and im too scared to over-clock... besides, it runs games like a boss anyway.

@TheFR3SHINATOR i chose Asus the P8Z68-V PRO first but when i read that the Z68A-GD80 (G3) and Z68A-GD65 (G3) has the new ivy and pci 3.0 then i change my mind and thought it would be better cuz maybe i can change my processor and the graphics card to the new gen :D what do u think?
chingano 4 months ago

@TheFR3SHINATOR mate, the ivy bridge will be a lga-1155 socket...
chingano 4 months ago
@chingano No i7 3820 is an LGA 2011 (just type "i7 3820 in Google and click the first link. It says that the socket is a LGA 2011) That is why i'm saying that the MSI board you were looking at will likely be incompatible with the Ivy Bridge/Sandybridge-E CPU :D

@TheFR3SHINATOR then which processor are they talking about when they said new gen 22nm processor??
chingano 4 months ago
@chingano I don't know?
TheFR3SHINATOR 4 months ago
@TheFR3SHINATOR u dont know if u can use 1600 mhz or not?
chingano 4 months ago
@chingano by 1600Mhz i take it you are talking about DDR3 Memory, yes you can run 1600mhz, my friend has a 2600K and he has got 16GB Corsair Vengeance 1866MHz and i've change my mind, i will be getting the 2700K, i just figured out that the LGA 2011 motherboards are priced around $400 which is out of my price range :D
TheFR3SHINATOR 4 months ago
@TheFR3SHINATOR cool i think i'll do that but not sure cuz i think that theres not so much difference.
chingano 4 months ago
@TheFR3SHINATOR NO, stop right there and wait for the i7 2700k that's coming out REALLY soon

@TheFR3SHINATOR where's you find out it was the 24th? I thought I'd read just about every article on it!
MasterSw1ft 4 months ago
@MasterSw1ft It says on my local computer parts store and the Sandy Bridge Wiki :)
TheFR3SHINATOR 4 months ago
@MasterSw1ft wait 2700K coming soon? but i just bought the 2600k,fuck
TheArea510 4 months ago
@TheArea510 Yep, comes out on Monday! But TBH you 2600K is 95% the same thing really, and it's a bit cheaper. don't worry. ;)
MasterSw1ft 4 months ago
@MasterSw1ft only differnce is 2700k's clock speed, which is 100mhz higher, but if youre smart you can overclock it yourself and save some cash
sjoerd94 4 months ago
@sjoerd94 2700k overclocks the same with less voltage than the 2600.
MasterSw1ft 4 months ago
@MasterSw1ft who gives a fuck about increasing the voltage 0.05?
